The home really is first class and I deeply regret that my husband was not admitted to The Aldbury when he first got ill. He is now finally very happy and content. Also, I can now rest. My husband and I were shown so much dignity and respect when we arrived at the home. The management and all the staff
are excellent.
My husband is very happy for the first time in 10 months.

From the time I arrived with my husband, the atmosphere was warm, kind, friendly and calm.
I could not believe it when I received a phone call saying would I like to speak to him. He was calm and placid which he had not been for months. They treat me as a friend and there is nothing too much trouble.
The
nurse at our GP told me she would send her mum to this wonderful home.
I am so glad I took her advice.

This home is a wonderful home and is probably the best in the country. My dad would have died months ago if it hadn't been for the very kind staff here. They have all treated him with dignity and kindness. My dad is always kept clean and well fed. His room is always clean. The nursing staff and carers
excellent. I have peace of mind and the staff are my new friends. They are so helpful when we are going through a very sad situation. My dad has also met some lovely friends at The Aldbury. Top, top marks. The staff always ask if we would like a drink.

My client came in for a 4-week respite and enjoyed her 'holiday' so much she decided to stay. She has early dementia and has been able to take part in the full programme of activities including helping in the garden. The trips out have been enjoyed and her appetite has improved with all the good food
she has been enjoying. My client has made many new friends both with her fellow residents and also the care staff. We are both sure we have made the right choice for her going forward.

The home is clean, tidy, friendly and has an "open door" policy for regular visitors with a full programme of activities daily for residents and visitors if they wish to join in. The food is top quality and well presented. All staff are friendly, efficient and patiently attentive to residents.

Mum came to The Aldbury after a crisis at home. This was a stressful time for all our family including Mum. The Aldbury staff could not have been more accommodating and set our minds at rest that mum was in safe and experienced hands. This was evident over the five weeks respite care mum spent at The
Aldbury. It was lovely to see mum dancing and laughing when I arrived during one of the weeks organised activities - during her stay. Over the 5 weeks, I saw glimpses of my old mum, hair done, dressed nicely - things that had been important to her her entire life back in her life again. When I called The Aldbury each day I spoke to someone who was able to tell me in detail how mum had been that day, staff also called me to update me on things I'd asked about. The Aldbury also put us in touch with an Admiral nurse to support us through this difficult period, demonstrating that not only were they providing excellent care for Mum but for the rest of our family too.

My mother spent 6 months at The Aldbury and was very happy, while she was there. She had her own pleasantly decorated and furnished en-suite room on the ground floor with a window overlooking the garden. The whole two storey building was pleasant, modern and well looked after and had a central courtyard
garden and car parking at the front. There was a large communal lounge. The home cooked food was excellent as was the care and facilities. Everyone was so friendly and helpful including the office staff. Mum was always kept clean and provided with clean clothes and her hair done weekly by a visiting hairdresser. The staff gave a lot of attention by chatting to mum and making sure she was happy as happy as she could be in the circumstances. They also had activities at the home every day and special activities such as their summer fete and Christmas party and went out on trips in their own minibus. They also had a nurse in attendance all the time and had close contact with a nearby doctor so help was always on hand for any eventuality.

Thank you for the care of my Mum over the years that she was a resident at The Aldbury. I could not have wished for anything better. Your care extended to all the relatives and we were always so welcomed and often enjoyed the entertainments with the residents. When it came to the end, everything was

The Aldbury is remarkable on every aspect needed by its residents. Regardless of expense. The care given could not be matched at home by family care. Even GP doctors are on tap 24/7. All aspects of required care are well taken care of. There are more staff than residents. Visitors are allowed 24/7 at
any hour without notice. I visit my wife at The Aldbury every afternoon 24/7. I am very much part of my wife's daily routine. I would be very happy to personally be a resident.

There has been a real change in mum, from what she was like at home she seems less agitated and happy. The staff are friendly, approachable and helpful. Mum likes the carers and does focus on certain people.

There is an excellent quality of care at The Aldbury. The approach to care is proactive and tailored to the individual. I really like the four house groups and how the home is structured a big family and cosy environment. The food is excellent, my mother can be quite a fussy eater and the meals are
tailored to her needs. The chef visited us when she arrived to discuss her needs.

I always get a warm welcome at The Aldbury. The gardens are lovely. I came in for lunch with my wife and we were very well looked after, the white chocolate and cranberry pudding was delicious. I look forward to coming again.

The Aldbury care home is excellent for my husband. He has settled down much better than I thought he would all the staff are excellent with him. Accommodation and food are excellent. I can visit him anytime, and the staff look after and comfort him when I leave as it's upsetting for both of us. I wish
he could come home, but The Aldbury care home is the next best home for him. I wish he could stay as he is happy and well-looked after.

Completely satisfied with everything except the very high fees of £5,500 per 4 weeks plus extras and except staffing. Sometimes there are staffing difficulties (not enough to cover mealtimes - some residents in rooms for meals (one to one) and some in day room) sometimes no staff in day room.

I would like to express my thanks to the care home manager of The Aldbury for all her help and support with CHC assessment for my mum. Not all care homes have that knowledge and support. Her time, skill and knowledge has helped immensely in this daunting task. Just knowing that someone else is with
you along this path, to help fight for what you feel is right for your loved one is a comfort. No matter what the outcome is .... I have admiration for The Aldbury.

The Aldbury is always very clean and welcoming, We are always welcomed with smiles by all members of staff we see. My dad is always clean, well dressed and looking happy. He is always very well cared for, I have never felt cause to worry about my dad while in the care of the staff at The Aldbury. Dad
is given meals and snacks regularly something I know he enjoys. On a side note my young children have always been made to feel completely welcome and are free to come and see their granddad whenever they like. The staff all make a fuss of them and The Aldbury put on family activities which can involve both my dad and his grandchildren.
