Brunswick House Nursing Home is a beautiful mock Tudor house built in the 1940s and is situated next to Robinswood Hill Country Park.

The traditional house has spacious bedrooms, many of which have en-suite facilities, as well as three comfortable lounges and a conservatory. In the summer months, the central courtyard area and ample lawn space are enjoyed regularly by the residents and their relatives.

Residents are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities which take place on a daily basis, or they can take a day trip to a local area of interest with members of staff.

All meals provided at Brunswick House are freshly prepared by an in-house cook, who creates varied and balanced dishes to accommodate dietary requirements and each resident’s needs.

The home provides a range of care services including: residential, dementia, day care, respite care, nursing care, palliative or end-of-life care.

The care, compassion, and kindness shown have been incredible. Every member of the staff has been wonderful, we are so grateful. The staff took the time to get to know mum and provided such personal care. Every visit we made over 5 months was the same. We were welcomed and kept informed. Food, hygiene,
and nursing care are all excellent. Thank you Brunswick House.

Mum was transferred here from the hospital, and we were told she was in the final stages of her life. At that time; she was bed-ridden and not eating. Since being here, she has started to eat, and we can now have a conversation albeit in between naps.
She is unable to take part in any activities and
is rarely out of the bed, but the staff care for her incredibly well and have an excellent understanding of her needs.

My mother has been a resident of Brunswick House for four and a half years now. I can honestly say the care, love and support both myself and my mother have had has been first-class. Anyone can surely see that the caring staff and in fact all the staff, have all of the residents and make the whole environment
feel as if they are all living in their own homes. I am so pleased my mother is part of this amazing home and I would recommend to anyone.

Warm, friendly staff. They couldn't do enough for my mum, always there to help if she needed it. They help mum to get some weight on as when she arrived, she was underweight.
I would highly recommend Brunswick House to anyone.

My father has bee at this care home for the last 10 months and the improvement in him since coming out of hospital has been incredible. This has largely been due to the support and encouragement from the staff. Most of the time he seems happy in his new environment and has settled quite well.

Wonderful nursing home. Excellent caring staff. Nothing was too much.
Lovely property. Kept clean and tidy.
Well done to the manager, nurses and the carers and of course the lovely meals prepared every day by the kitchen staff.

Poor care home, smells all the time. Staff appear to not be very well trained and appear to not know what they are doing with my relative. She was, in my opinion, looked after incorrectly and most of the time forgotten about more than once. My opinion is they didn't want her there and everything they
said they could do they didn't and we complained all the time. We were glad to move her out.

This care home has given our father exceptional end of life care. He had dementia and cancer and was failing at his own home. As soon as he came into Brunswick House he seemed to improve so much, no more depression, good regular meals and the level of personal care was exceptional.
The staff contacted
us immediately if there were any issues and we are sure he survived as long as he did due to the wonderful care he received.
Mum survived him in the same home and is so happy.

The care is satisfactory. The home is very clean, staff good with my mother.
The activities are getting better now they have a new lady taken over, they never had any for a few months which was poor. Hopefully, will get better after talking to the new coordinator who has arranged activities.
I think
daily activities are important to their well-being.

Whenever I visit, the staff they always update me on my mothers day explaining if there had been any problems or if she's been down in the lounge instead of staying in her room.
When food/drinks are served they always explain to mum what the choice is carefully so she can hear them and if I ask for
any help/advice/or if things are not working properly it is no problem to sort for me, if they can or they ask nurse/manageress to advise me.

Karen is our manager, she started as a clinical lead in September 2021 and was appointed as a manager in January 2023.


Karen is a highly dedicated and experienced healthcare professional who is proud to be serving as the manager of Brunswick House Nursing Home. With over three decades of experience in the field, she has developed a deep understanding of the importance of providing the best possible care for residents. Karen is a qualified nurse and is committed to promoting the highest standards of care at Brunswick House.


Outside of work, Karen is a family-oriented person who lives in Gloucester with her husband. She has three children and four grandchildren, and in her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, as well as indulging in her hobbies of baking and needlework.
