During my husband's stay, the staff and the care he receives have been excellent.
When I arrive to see him, everyone is very welcoming, also friends and family say the same.

Mum could be challenging and stubborn, but the staff dealt with her admirably, coaxing and cajoling and offering a cup of team whenever she was upset.

We were very happy with the care and compassion given to her by all of the staff.

The staff are always very welcoming and friendly.
During a recent illness, my husband was very well cared for. I felt I could trust them to look after him. The home is always clean and fresh. I have no personal experience of the food but my husband always says he had enjoyed his lunch. The cakes look
fantastic.

When Dad came to Forest Court the level of care was a massive improvement on his previous home. We feel confident he is safe and well cared for. Staff are always very attentive and understanding of Dad's needs.

The staff make you feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble.

My Father was a resident for five years On first impressions when we arrived in 2012 at Forest Court, it seemed a tired building but any concerns were soon dispatched. The staff were so caring, so helpful. Father, despite his dementia, settled into a routine and loved the food and garden. We were always
kept informed and from cleaners to manager the staff were friendly, kind and helpful.

Professional capable staff. Home is welcoming and residents seem well cared for. There always seems to be plenty of staff on duty so the resident's needs are met in a timely way.

I am very happy with the care my husband has received in this home since he arrived one year ago. The staff are so helpful, polite and cheerful. It makes my visits so much more bearable. I trust that this high standard will continue in the hands of the new owners.

Whilst Forest Court has only been run by HC One for some two months, at the time of compiling this review, it is evident that there is a staffing problem, which I believe is being addressed.
However, with four communal rooms, I believe that staffing levels should provide for a member of staff to be
in each of these rooms at any given time.
I have witnessed, intervened and assisted in resolving issues between residents when no member of staff has been present and have had problems finding staff.
This is purely lack of staff, not unwillingness of staff.
In order to assist in such an instance, it may be beneficial if visitors were to receive instructions as to how to use the alarm system which is in every room.
My reason for making this statement is that once I had been briefed on the colour coding and which to use for what, I used it during my fathers last 48 hours in the home and a member of staff reached his room within a couple of minutes.
If visitors knew the details of the system, they could assist staff by being additional 'eyes & ears' to resolve issues that arise in the absence of staff.

Thank you for your comments. Although we have had to use more agency staff since transferring to HC-One, safe staffing levels have always been maintained and issues flagged with the recruitment team. The call bell system has been discussed with Relatives at meetings and I can flag again at the next Relative meeting on 26 April 2018. Staff do however routinely monitor lounge areas and the larger busier lounge has a consistent staff presence.

The home is managed by someone who actually cares about their residents, not money. She has the empathy which is needed. She is very approachable and will do anything in her power to help put you at ease, trusting her dedicated team under her to look after and care for your loved one.
Nothing was ever
too much trouble.

My brother was treated with extreme kindness and care and dignity and the staff went far above anything we expected, making this difficult and sad time much easier for us, his family.
We were also treated with kindness and respect and can't express how grateful we are to all of the staff at Forset
Court for making my brother's final days as restful and peaceful as it could have been.
Thank you all.

Dad was in Forest Court for just over 2 years. In that time, he was very happy indeed. The staff were very professional and caring and also very patient with him. The food was always very good and enough of it. I would always recommend Forest Court to anybody.

We are always very pleased with the excellent care. The nursing staff were always very kind and helpful. Also, kitchen staff were the same and reception staff no problems.

My experience of this home was excellent. The care, patience and consideration shown to all the residents was also excellent.
I couldn't have wished for a better place for my husband to have spent his last days.
I can't praise this home and it's staff enough.

The home is friendly, clean and tidy. The staff are well qualified and nothing is too much trouble. My dad loves it there. Despite his vascular dementia getting progressively worse.
Well done the team.

My mother has Alzheimers's and at Forest Court, we have found a care home that we can confidently feel she is being looked after and cared for in the most wonderful setting and within a lovely, caring and totally competent environment. She is as content as she has been for many years and we have no
hesitation in recommending it to anyone else.

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.396)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.396) out of 10 for Forest Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.771 for Forest Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (27 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 35 Ratings = 4.771

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.625 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Forest Court Care Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.375

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
