My husband, who has dementia found it very difficult to stay anywhere for more than 30 minutes, yet to my surprise and complete relief he was comfortable being at Forest Court Care Home from the 'Get Go'. I put this down to welcoming, friendly. professional yet laid back approach of the staff. There
was plenty of room for him to 'wander' safely and people who understood his need to collect things and handle them in odd places. I was kept informed of his medical/social status and was impressed by the professionalism of the medical team who were so sensitive and adapt when he needed palliative care. To sum up, I always felt there was a very strong team spirit at the home, which came from an enthusiastic and professional leadership and would recommend Forest Court Care Home to anyone who values good practice in the care of their loved ones.

Mum has been a resident for ten months and my brother and I cannot praise up this wonderful nursing home enough. We love visiting mum because we always receive the warmest of welcomes from the two receptionists, including drinks, and seeing how well mum is cared for takes our stress away. The young
lady manager is always bubbly and approachable should we have any concerns. The care staff are exceptionally patient with a particular understanding in how to cope well with the many symptoms associated with all stages of dementia. Mum has a lovely cosy en-suite room which is clean and very warm. The food is of a superior standard, cooked by hard working chefs, and it befits a 5 star hotel. The gorgeous garden with summer house has stunning views and wheelchair accessibility. The gardeners and maintenance men keep the whole establishment in tip top condition. There are nurses on duty 24/7 and the local doctor is only a short distance away, should he be needed. All in all we are 100% happy and grateful with the impressive amount of kindness and care mum receives. The home and staff exceed our expectations.

From day one dad settled in well. The home was always welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Knowledge and care of dad and his needs were excellent, as was the kindness and patience of the carers. Food was varied and nourishing. Always provided refreshments for us when we visited dad. Carers always
had time to talk to us and tell us how dad was doing. Special thanks to the staff for their time, patience and exceptional care of dad during his time at the home.

July 9th 2015 my wife and I reached our 60th Wedding Anniversary. Despite my wife being unwell I knew it was a occasion that needed to be marked in some way. I spoke with the staff and Events Manager at Forest Court who said they could help with putting on light refreshments. So together with my three
Sons and members of their families we had a light afternoon tea at the home. We couldn't praise the Buffet that was provided enough. Fresh, filling and thoroughly enjoyable with Tea, Coffee, Juice and a drop of Bubbly also provided. We were given a room of our own to use which the Staff had decorated with Banners and Balloons. The Staff, not just on this occasion, always make you feel welcome with a warm smile and a ""nothings too much trouble" attitude. A very pleasant afternoon indeed.

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.396)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.396) out of 10 for Forest Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.771 for Forest Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (27 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 35 Ratings = 4.771

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.625 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Forest Court Care Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.375

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
