Millbrook Lodge offers up to 80 residents compassionate, individualised residential, nursing and respite care in a modern, comfortable environment. Opened in 2010, the home is situated close to the centre of Brockworth, an attractive village just a few miles east of Gloucester.

This modern home has been designed with your well-being and comfort in mind. Cosy lounges are available to relax in, as are the secure gardens to take advantage of on sunny days and social activities take place daily for your enjoyment. If however, you'd like a little more privacy, then your own spacious bed-sitting room, with en suite facilities, offers a peaceful oasis. To give you the support you need when you need it, a friendly, professionally trained team are on hand around-the-clock to support you in how you wish to spend your day enabling you to continue to enjoy a fulfilling and independent lifestyle.

Dedicated Activities Coordinators organise a varied programme of events around each individual's requests, hobbies and interests. The team will be delighted to assist you to continue with existing pastimes, as well as give you the opportunity to try something new if you would like to. They make sure everyone is able to enjoy themselves to the fullest, be that with arts and crafts, a coffee morning or more individual pursuits. Visits from outside entertainers happen regularly. The home has its own minibus for trips out.

A talented cook and kitchen team prepare tasty, home-cooked meals. The freshly prepared, delicious dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and take into account individual dietary requirements and preferences. Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join.

    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

The past few months have been very difficult for us as a family, however, our turning point in dealing with my nan's condition was when she came to stay at Millbrook Lodge, she was happier, more content and as a family, we felt very supported with her care. The management team are truly fantastic.
The staff at the nursing home are absolutely amazing. The premises and gardens are lovely. We are a very large family with young children and during my nan's stay in hospital we found it very hard to visit during the very restricted visiting hours but now at Millbrook Lodge, the staff welcome our family and allow us to visit my nan as we would in her own home.

We have commented honestly below. During the seven years Mum had been living in Millbrook Lodge we have never had a reason to complain. All of the carers, especially the nurses have always cared for Mum in the best possible way. The staff and management to us and in our option have always been helpful
and well organised. When Mum was able she enjoyed the activities she attended. We are grateful to all concerned who cared for mum during her seven year stay.

I have to say that over the years I have dealt with many care/nursing homes and Millbrook Lodge is exceptional. They have cared for my aunt through the end of her life with great love and sensitivity. Nothing is too much trouble - a true partnership between relatives and the home.

My partner received palliative and end of life care at Millbrook Lodge. The treatment he received was fantastic. I could not have got through it without the wonderful staff. They also looked after me extremely well. They were all so kind and thoughtful.
Millbrook Lodge is about 5 minutes from home
which was an added bonus, but had it been further it would still have been worth a journey, just to see my partner looking so much more comfortable was a blessing. He was treated with great dignity throughout his illness, and was always kept clean and comfortable. As he neared the end of his life we were treated with compassion and sympathy.
There is no way I could ever thank them enough for the care they showed us, and I am sure my partner would have wanted me to also thank them on his behalf. I would highly recommend Millbrook Lodge to anyone.

My mother was a resident from 31 Dec 15 until she died on 20 March. The care provided to her at Millbrook through the staff on Birdlip Wing was exemplary. My mother had suffered a massive stroke and she was wholly dependant for everything. The staff saw her every need was met with care and consideration.
While my mother had little awareness of her situation, everyone at Millbrook did their utmost to ensure that she got the best of treatment. She was always treated in a caring and dignified manner with the staff always prepared to go the extra mile to make her life at Millbrook the best it could be.

My mother went into Millbrook Lodge following her discharge from hospital after suffering two strokes. I was extremely anxious about this huge life change for my mum but from the first day staff at Millbrook have been friendly, welcoming and supportive. They are patient and persistent in helping mum
to make choices - and this is no easy task as mums speech has not returned following her strokes. Visitors are made welcome at any time of day and staff always make time to discuss any concerns I may have.

Robin

Robin Willmott

Job Title: General Manager

Joined: 2014

The residents at Millbrook Lodge are cared for by a highly dedicated and professional team of employees which includes Nurses, Care Leaders, Carers, Administrators, Housekeepers and the Catering Team. They are all led and supported by both the Deputy Home Manager and General Manager.


Robin came to Millbrook Lodge from the NHS where he had worked since qualifying as a Nurse. Within the NHS Robin had worked in inpatient services, the community mental health team and latterly worked for 5 years as a Dementia Education Nurse. Robin has been published in the Journal of Dementia Care and runs courses on aspects of Dementia and end of life care.


As well as carrying the Registered Mental Nurse qualification Robin holds a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology with a focus on supporting older people through therapy. Robin also holds a B.Sc in Nursing and is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.


Robin expects high standards of person-centred care from his team and works with his colleagues to ensure that Millbrook Lodge has a homely, relaxed atmosphere for all of the residents.


Hayley

Hayley Taylor

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Hayley Taylor is the Deputy Home Manager at The Orders of St John Care Trust’s Millbrook Lodge in Gloucestershire and has 15 years of experience working in the Care Sector.


Hayley is passionate about her role and loves that the role provides different challenges every day. Meeting new and interesting people whilst doing something positive for someone in need is a passion of Hayley’s and she is proud this is something she gets to do every day.


Hayley has worked for OSJCT since 2009 and has a Level 3 in Leadership for Health and Social Care.

Alison Johns is the Senior Nurse at The Orders of St John Care Trust’s Millbrook Lodge in Wiltshire and has 13 years of experience working in the Care Sector.


Alison is extremely passionate about her role and likes working in a team that is dedicated to ensuring a quality of life for ALL of the home's residents. There is a lot of fun and laughter at the home which makes for a lovely atmosphere.


Alison has a few hobbies that occupy her spare time, they are card making and scrapbooking as well as cooking. The Home Manager has had me make a curry for the staff curry night! She also likes to socialise with colleagues and enjoy a good natter!


Alison has worked for OSJCT since 2005 and is a Registered General Nurse.
