My father was very poorly when he arrived at Barchester Moreton Hill Care Centre, having been 'rescued' from a poor situation. As soon as he arrived, I could see how relieved and happy he was to be there. Unfortunately, he was just too weak and passed that very night. The staff were nothing but marvellous.
They all treated him with kindness and dignity, even staying with him through the night. I have no words of thanks sufficient and will be grateful for the rest of my life. Thank you.

My partner needed respite care at short notice, which was diligently organised by the manager in a very professional way. When entering the care home you are greeted by friendly staff who make you feel welcome. She was looked after well by the lovely and hardworking staff who went out of their way to
cater for any needs she required. I would like to say thank you to the staff for their kindness and patience shown towards my partner, therefore I have no hesitation in recommending Moreton Hill as an excellent, caring and professionally run care home that genuinely cares for its residents.

My husband was a resident of Moreton Hill Care Centre for 17 months with Lewy Body Dementia, unfortunately, he died in April.
Myself and the family want to thank the staff for the care my husband received during his time there especially the last month when he was very poorly.
The staff went above
and beyond to care for him with love and devotion, including myself and our children which made a very sad and difficult time easier for us.
We send a massive thank you to the care home and would recommend Moreton Hill to keep your loved ones safe and well looked after.

Moreton Hill is the most delightful place, yes it's a care home but it feels so much more, with its incredible setting and the most caring staff, they don't just care about the resident but the resident's family and friends also! From my first contact, nothing has been too much trouble, and the manager
and her team have gone above and beyond to support both Mum and myself through some very tricky weeks since Mum went initially on respite and is now on a permanent basis. They have taken time to find the best area of the home to support Mum's needs and now she seems settled, some days she thinks it's home and other days she thinks she is staying in a hotel and having a holiday.
There is always a wide range of activities taking place and residents are not pressured into doing things, just encouraged, and they like to make the most of a celebration as they had a full weekend of activities and parties for the Coronation! The menu always looks great and Mum has enjoyed the variety that is offered.

Moreton Hill Care Centre is in the most beautiful setting with stunning views. The home is well-maintained with tasteful, modern decor. The rooms are well-decorated and have attractive outlooks.
We have found all the staff, from nurses, carers, housekeeping and admin to chefs, maintenance and activities
coordinators to be really friendly and accommodating - nothing has been too much trouble and requests are carried out very happily. The atmosphere is a very happy one and all the staff enjoy interacting with the residents and their families which makes visits most pleasurable.
Mum loves the environment and all the staff. She enjoys the food very much too.
At first, Mum didn't want to leave her own home, but after only a few weeks at Moreton Hill, she agrees that her quality of life is so much better and says that we couldn't have chosen a better place.

Respite care - My father has just had three weeks at Moreton Hill getting him back on his feet after a short illness. The staff took the time to get to know him and were friendly and caring throughout his stay. Having not used care facilities before we were anxious relatives but didn’t need to be as
all the carers were supportive (especially the manager) and helped to reassure us that he was in the right place to help his recovery.
The facilities are lovely and there is an outside courtyard that can be used to give residents some space and fresh air when the weather is fine. Each day there is a range of activities to enjoy if residents wish to and the home seems quiet but with plenty of friendly staff around. Special mention to the member of staff who from the moment Dad arrived kept an eye on him.
We cannot thank the staff enough.

The nursing and caring staff were just amazing with my mum. So compassionate, kind, loving, patient, good-humoured, and completely focussed on the needs and wants of the residents. I was always greeted warmly on my visits and kept well informed. The place has a lovely feel to it, well presented and
homely. Mum's room was cosy and pleasant. She was in the dementia unit where the special care needed was exemplary. I did feel that the regular residents had more activities than the dementia residents and I'd love to see more activities for the dementia unit. In the last days of mum's life, we were allowed 24-hour access to her, and the staff were absolutely brilliant, managing mum's decline professionally at the same time as showing empathy and care towards us. The only issue we had was with the contract and billing, which wasn't always handled efficiently. Other than that, we really couldn't have found a better last home for mum.

Respite care:
The staff took the time to learn the characters of the new (and temporary) residents.
When problems arose, time was taken to find a suitable resolution.
When new care needs presented themselves, all avenues were pursued until the correct approach was determined.

My mother, having had a stroke, regained her life and enjoyment once she moved into Barchester Moreton Hill Care Centre. Her last weeks, although no longer active, were attentive and not lacking in any attention in any way. Thank you all.

Dad is a resident at Morton Hill Care Home at the moment. Originally moved into the Memory Lane unit in June after a bad experience in another home, he was concerned about what it would be like. With the amazing staff, bringing fun and smiles to his everyday life plus the fact that he was allowed to
keep his pipe, or as he calls it his 'dummy'. The fabulous activities coordinator made such an effort to research where he worked for many years and made him a memory box with such interesting items a past engineer just loved. It was the team's diligence that raised a health problem that now means palliative is necessary.
He has kept his same room and team around him, meaning that their amazing care and kindness can continue making the transition as easy as possible, not just for dad but for his family. Can't thank them all enough.

My father has recently passed and spent three weeks here for palliative care after a brief bad experience at another home. The manager immediately made a good impression and was super helpful in organising a transfer the very same day. From day one, all of the staff were fantastic and even though Dad
was reluctant to go into care, made harder by his dementia, it only took two days until he told us it was a nice place. So glad we found Barchester Moreton Hill Care Centre.

My mother moved in a couple of weeks before the pandemic. She found the move unsettling due to her dementia and the fact we couldn't visit made things worse. The staff were clearly experienced in dementia care and looked after her well, taking everything in their stride. When she was at the end of her
life, they provided excellent care for her and fantastic support for us as a family. We will always be thankful for the excellent service provided.

Hello, my name is Roxana Davis, and I am a Senior General Manager at Moreton Hill Care Centre.


I started with Barchester in January 2019 as a Unit Lead and progressed to Commissioning a New Build in 2021 as a General Manager.


I am an adult general nurse trained in Romania, with vast experience in elderly Nursing Care, Prefund Learning Disabilities, and managing different teams.

Completed my L5 Diploma in Leadership and Management at Hereford and Ludlow Colledge
I have strong work support and fantastic home support from my partner and son.

Hello, I am Stuart and I joined Moreton Hill in 2021 as Head Chef. I have enjoyed spending time enhancing the food and beverage offering, and working with residents to create new menus. I am always happy to cater for individual needs and tastes. I also enjoy working with the activities team to plan the catering for events.  There is always a warm welcome in our cafe with a range of drinks and different homemade cakes daily.

Moira has lived at Moreton Hill since 2009. She remains involved in all Open days and advocates for the other residents. As a previous teacher, her passion was poetry, and she holds her Poetry club once a month.
