Paternoster House offers up to 40 residents compassionate, individualised residential, nursing and respite care. The home is situated in a quiet area of Cirencester, a renowned Cotswold market town. The home has pretty, well-maintained gardens, is close to the church and pleasant parkland and within a short walking distance of the shops.

Cosy lounges are available to relax in, as is the secure garden on sunny days and social activities take place daily for your enjoyment. If however, you'd like a little more privacy, then your own bedroom offers a peaceful oasis. To give you the support you need when you need it, a friendly, professionally trained team are on hand around-the-clock to support you in how you wish to spend your day enabling you to continue to enjoy a fulfilling and independent lifestyle.

A dedicated Activities Coordinator organises a varied programme of events around each individual's requests, hobbies and interests. The team will be delighted to assist you to continue with existing pastimes, as well as give you the opportunity to try something new if you would like to. They make sure everyone is able to enjoy themselves to the fullest, be that with arts and crafts, a coffee morning or more individual pursuits. Visits from outside entertainers happen regularly. The home has access to a Trust minibus for trips out.

A talented cook and kitchen team prepare tasty, home-cooked meals. The freshly prepared, delicious dishes are carefully balanced to get the best nutritional value and take into account individual dietary requirements and preferences. Seasonal produce is chosen whenever possible and of course, relatives and friends are always welcome to join.

    physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
    medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
    During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
    and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

The staff are always friendly and welcoming, they are always willing to help. Many activities are encouraged every day of the week, which is brilliant and also lovely to see the residents enjoying themselves or hearing all about what they have been doing when you go to visit. Clean, tidy, warm and friendly.

My mother has been a resident for 1 year now and has improved so much during the time here. She has become much more confident and relaxed. She has a great rapport with all the staff and residents. The activities are a great addition and enjoyed by so many of the residents. I would defiantly recommend
the home.

Mum has been a resident of Paternoster House for nearly two and a half years and during this time she has been cared for in a kind and dignified manner, in a secure and safe environment. Mum's health has not been good during this time, but the staff have helped bring her through some difficult times,
promptly responding to the various challenges she has faced. We as a family are very grateful.

Our dad was treated with extreme care and they gave us our 'old dad' back within a couple of weeks, it was amazing to see him improving and something we never imagined was possible. He had been urgently admitted to a respite bed, unable to stand unaided and extremely frail - although his disabilities
are obviously still there, he's a different man and we will never be able to thank the staff and volunteers enough. When the chance became available, we needed to move him closer to home, we can only hope his health continues in the same direction.

My mother has been a resident since September 2015. We have found the staff of the home very friendly and polite to all the family.
Maybe one thing of concern, difference of opinion within the nursing staff over dosage of paracetamol given to my mother. Otherwise mum is happy and well looked after.

Mum receives excellent care. All staff adapt quickly to her changing and deteriorating condition. The nursing staff communicate frequently with the family and the manager has been extremely helpful with advice and support. The nursing home is well rooted in the community with excellent volunteer support
that adds to the welcoming and home like atmosphere. It's well supported by local GP's and pharmacies. Staff at every level contribute to mum's needs.

Sharon

Sharon Dewsbury

Job Title: Activities Co-ordinator

Joined: 2013

Sharon has worked as the Activities Co-ordinator at Paternoster House since 2013 but has worked in the care industry for over 18 years.
Sharon has completed a level 3 qualification in dementia care and has completed her care certificate too. Sharon likes that every day at work is different, one day she could be organising a party, trips out or organising outdoor games the next she could be organising dementia friendly cinemas, entertainers or just arranging a varied programme of activities that are tailored to meet the residents’ interests and preferences.
Sharon’s fondest memory is when Paternoster House had two residents who turned 100, all the staff dressed in vintage clothes from a variety of era’s, and everyone enjoyed a brilliant party.
Outside of work Sharon loves taking her two terriers for a walk and socialising with friends and family.
