Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.
Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.
Visitors are welcome at any time.
Free parking is available outside the home.

Job Title: Activity Co-ordinators
Joined: 2004
Ruth and Leah are our mother and daughter dream team of Activity Co-ordinators at Chestnut Court.
Having worked at Chestnut Court for over 16 years, Ruth sees the home as much more than just a place of work and can’t imagine working anywhere else.
“I am passionate about Chestnut Court. I see the residents here as my friends and I am very lucky that I get to spend time with them as part of my job.”
Leah also has a strong connection with Chestnut Court, having spent so much time at the home with residents during her upbringing.
“I have been coming to Chestnut Court since I was 9 years old. I can remember coming into the home to spend with residents here whilst growing up – even on Christmas Day! Whilst at University studying Illustration, I would come back to Chestnut Court during my time off to help out as well.”
Their role as Activity Co-ordinators within the home is to support the wellbeing of residents with a stimulating and varied programme of activities.
“Our aim is to allow people to maintain the interests and hobbies they have had all their lives as much as we can. We also enjoy helping them to develop new interests and overcome barriers.”
With such a strong connection to the home built up over a number of years, it was impossible for Ruth and Leah to pick just one favourite memory of their time at Chestnut Court.
“We love spending time with the residents. There have been times when we have done the conga around the home with residents, looked through their photo albums with them and so much more. Hearing some of their brilliant life stories and getting them to open up to us is the best feeling.”
Job Title: Home Manager
Joined: 2020
Gence started working at Chestnut Court as the Home Manager in February 2020. Before moving to Chestnut Court, Gence had spent 8 years working as a Home Manager with another care provider. Gence has a background in nursing with over 20 years’ experience.
“From the first moment I visited Chestnut Court, I knew it was the home for me. There was a lovely atmosphere running throughout the home. I was also attracted to the values OSJCT has an organisation. They put their residents and team at the heart of everything they do.” Gence said.
During his time at Chestnut Court, Gence has overseen an improved CQC rating and led the home throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite this, Gence acknowledges that his proudest moment is the way the team has stuck together throughout.
“I am incredibly proud of the way the team has stuck together. I could not have done it without them.”
