The most amazing manager, outstanding. She is so caring, understanding, helpful and efficient. She went out of her way to find the best and most convenient room for Mum. She is the most lovely and personable hands-on manager. Even when plans changed and Mum needed to stay longer she sorted everything
out. The staff are all lovely and attentive. They really care and know all the patient's needs. After a visit to the care home before Mum stayed the manager even helped us get Mum back home and in the house by pushing her up the ramp. This just shows how far she goes to support and help. The care home is definitely a 5-star and beyond experience. Thank you for everything to the manager and all the adorable caring staff!

We find the staff lovely and not too much trouble.
The food is great and plenty of choice. We visit every week and we are always offered a drink in the room that my sister-in-law is in and she is happy with the food and her room and she has a nice view.

My mother gets well looked after and is happy here. She loves the staff and she says the meals are good. Visiting is always easy and accessible. It’s very good that entertainers come in, she loves a sing song. Christmas was lovely. Cooking and other activities are always welcome. My mother is much happier
now she has her own toilet facility.

My mum settled into Arthurs Court ready for Christmas 2020, continuing to enjoy the family of staff and residents through to this Christmas 2023 when she peacefully slipped away from this life. As one of four siblings we all agreed her new home offering social life and developing new friendships enabled
her to be best cared for as dementia developed. Living close by meant we could see her and speak with staff frequently, reassured by the continuity and social events arranged. We really appreciated the regular calls to discuss personal aspects of care and explanations of medical support as her needs progressed through 2023. Overall the service and personal interest taken by staff in their residents have impressed, confident that her room will offer a great space for the next resident to enjoy their later years.

My stepmother was a resident at Arthurs Court Care Home from January 2023 to September, when she passed away. She was suffering from vascular dementia and required one-to-one care for 12 hours every day. I was deeply impressed by the high standard of care and training of the staff looking after all
the individual residents. My stepmother was a difficult patient due to her dementia, the care was brilliant. I really can't thank the staff enough. Thank you so much.

My lovely mum was in Arthur’s Court for two years, during that time she was treated with care, dignity and love. She could not communicate well but the staff made every effort to make sure her needs were met.
I am particularly impressed by the way both she and I were supported through her last days.
We were surrounded by people that cared and went the extra mile to make sure she was comfortable. Thank you so much to the staff there.

Our Mum was a resident at Arthur's Court for only a short time, from October 2022 until she passed away at the end of January 2023. The level of care and support Mum received from Arthur was excellent, and although her health was failing, she was able to spend her last few months in comfort. The attention
to detail was superb, and Mum could not have spent her last few months in a better place.
Very many thanks to the manager and the staff.

Mum moved to Arthurs Court from another home, after a summer of hospital stays, because she needed nursing care, which couldn't be given in her previous residence. The staff were so welcoming, helpful and caring. Sadly she was only a resident for a few weeks but enjoyed singing along with one of the
entertainers as well as a Birthday party with a lovely cake made by the home. She took a turn for the worse and deteriorated quite quickly, however, the home were keen to get her back from a hospital stay and they administered end-of-life care with dignity, respect and genuine concern. I can only thank you all for making her last few weeks as comfortable as possible.

My friend was in the hospital from January 14th until the beginning of August. All the time he was in hospital he was bedbound and very rarely got out of bed. He also was not eating properly and looked very ill. After moving into Arthurs Court within days he was looking better, getting dressed and sitting
in the lounge with other residents. He has started walking with a frame and interacting with residents and staff. The staff have worked with him to get him mobile. The staff and management have done a remarkable job. Thank you from a friend.

My mother has been a resident at Arthurs Court for eighteen months now. She has vascular dementia. The home is not big, grand or opulent, but the care that she gets is second to none. The staff are caring and friendly both to the residents and to us their relatives; they immediately notice when something
is slightly amiss. Mum recently showed signs of increased aggression which was straightaway diagnosed as being due to a urinary tract infection, and a course of antibiotics soon put her right. The food is plentiful and of high quality. The staff go out of their way to make the home seem like a real family environment and over the last few months have embarked on a range of redecorations and improvements to the building and garden. Events like residents' Birthdays are always celebrated, and themed weeks and a garden party add to their enjoyment. Mum loves dancing to their musical visitors and singing along to the music too. I would have no hesitation in recommending Arthurs Court.

It was Mum's 100th birthday in January 2022. The care staff gave her a small gathering in her room with wine, took her to the dining room for lunch and the staff sang happy birthday to her. They decorated her room, added extra chairs ready for Mum's three children to attend. I wanted to do a Zoom video
with our extended family so they could see the present opening and happy event etc. As their wi-fi would not reach to Mum's room, they extended it to her room at their expense, for which we are all very grateful, thank you to one member of staff in particular. We looked at many homes before deciding on Arthurs Court and have not regretted our choice. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and always willing to listen. Our thanks to an entertainments member of staff, the nurses and care staff. Mum could not have received better health care.

Mu uncle spent almost two months with the care home after spending four months in the hospital. On arriving, he was unable to walk and was very depressed. Whilst at the care home, his well-being completely changed for the good, he was able to walk using a frame, and his sense of humour had returned.

My mother was treated with care, kindness, and respect throughout her stay at Arthur’s Court. She enjoyed the food too! I found the staff very welcoming and their communication was excellent. They always took the time to answer any questions I had and were very quick to contact me if my mother had any
medical issues. It gave me great comfort to know that she was in such good hands.

After a short period of respite care, it was apparent that Mum had settled in well and was benefitting from having 24-hour care, and as a family, we had peace of mind that she was safe after having numerous falls in her own home. The carers were professional but adaptable to Mum's changing needs and
moods if she was refusing care or her medication. From admin, domestic, nursing, and carers, all staff were kind, professional, and patient and all came in with a smile and willingness to make her day as comfortable and easy as possible. We were involved in decision making and Mum was contented and well looked after in the last year of life. She was treated with respect and dignity at all times.

A care home was a completely new experience to both my sister and I, we admit to having some apprehension when our mother was first admitted on respite breaks after hospitalisation earlier this year. However, she is now a permanent resident and we admit the care and nursing she receives at Arthurs Court
is exceptional, also administration. Although Mother may not realise, she is receiving the medical care and attention, at all times, that my sister and I couldn't possibly administer without nursing knowledge and care available.

Our Mother became a resident here in December 2020 from hospital with a few weeks end of life prognosis. 6 months later these amazing staff were still caring for her until she left us peacefully a week ago. A mixture of mental and physical patient demands challenged the staff and they coped admirably
and with genuine sensitivity throughout. When one considers all this occurred during one of the Covid peaks/lockdowns it further exemplifies this home's dedication and quality of care. Once again, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the Management and staff at Arthurs Court.

I found the standard of care extremely good. Staff were always available to support residents and family alike. Their end of life care was very sensitive, and family were always informed and updated. As a retired nurse and care trainer, I found the standards extremely high.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.540)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.540) out of 10 for Arthurs Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.740 for Arthurs Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (73 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.74

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Arthurs Court Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
