I find the carers very friendly and they have won the trust of my stepmother making her feel comfortable and at ease. The staff never have a problem with taking care of any of my requests for assistance with supplying various items (flowers etc) for my stepmother as I am not in the vicinity to do this.
She has no complaints about the food or any such thing and this is very reassuring.
The staff manage to keep me updated on aspects affecting her, such as illnesses etc.

My uncle moved into the home when he no longer felt able to remain in his own home. He has been very pleased with the support and care that he has received and the family is pleased that he is cared for so well. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The family is always made to feel welcome and
the atmosphere is pleasant.

My mother was in the home for two weeks - she was waiting to die and the family had to get her out of the hospital where she was sinking fast amongst strangers who did not have the time for her.
The care my mother had at the care home was exemplary - all the staff were wonderful and their relationship
with our family could not have been better. I can't speak too highly of them.
My mother died in peace with the family there - it was a special time for all of us.

Staff kind, helpful, polite, efficient.
In the main informative, the odd occasion when had to seek details - possibly due to demanding workload.
Clean and tidy care home, positive atmosphere.

Over the 2 years Mum was at Arthurs Court we came to believe we were so very fortunate for this to become Mum's home. We cannot speak highly enough of the dedication of all the staff. Mum was very happy at Arthurs Court. Every single time we visited there the atmosphere was so wonderfully welome.

Mum

looked on the staff with affection and received this in return, along with excellent meals, her personal care and that of her clothes. Nothing was too much trouble. Her health, mentally and physically, was better than it had been for years, which we believe was due to the care and attention delivered by the staff - we are very grateful to the wonderful staff.

I have been at Arthurs Court for the last 6 weeks. I have had a very enjoyable stay. I came out of hospital and went to Arthur's Court for a respite stay. I am now well enough to go home but if I needed to go anywhere again, Arthurs Court would be my first choice.

Mum is well cared for, but very confused most of the time so apart from telling me she is well looked after I can't provide anything further from her point of view.

My mother-in-law was at Arthur's Court for 9 months and the care given was of a very high standard. The deputy manager is very highly recommended by the local GP practice. The food and cleanliness of the home are of a very high standard. Also, the staff are very happy and welcoming. I would highly recommend
this home.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.540)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.540) out of 10 for Arthurs Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.740 for Arthurs Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (73 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.74

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Arthurs Court Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
