Homely, warm, clean, friendly and caring.

My mum had vascular dementia and stayed at Horton Cross Nursing Home until she passed away on the 15th March 2017. Words can't really do it justice how grateful we are as a family to all the staff there. All the staff were amazing, caring and gave my mum the best of care. I would 100% recommend to anybody
that has to find a brilliant nursing home for their loved one to pick this one

My name is Roz, My role at Horton Cross is Front of House & Liaison Manager.


My role involves supporting all of the homes within the Sentimental Care Group-marketing, procurement and implementation of new technology and administrative processes.


I have worked at Horton Cross for many years and have had opportunities to develop within my roles.
I get great fulfilment from my role and helping others.

My family are my world. I have a daughter who is currently a second-year nursing student and a chocolate Labrador who always rewards me with the best ever welcome home.


I enjoy nothing more than walking the coastal path with my husband on my days off.

Hello and Welcome to Horton Cross,


I am Alison- I am one of the longest serving staff members at Horton Cross, I first joined Horton Cross in Jan 1989!
I love my job- spending time with the residents and creating a family environment, seeing residents smile and taking the time to help them and talk about their lives, some of our residents do not have family and we have become their family members.
I am very family orientated myself- having two grown up sons that I like to spend my time with.
I enjoy travelling abroad, pop concerts and generally having a good time!
through my time with the Sentimental Care Group I have progressed within my roles I was previously a senior care assistant and now I am an approved practitioner- I am keen to further develop my skills within Horton Cross and to be able to make it even better!

I am a health care assistant at Horton Cross Nursing Home.


My first experience of care was when I did volunteering for work experience, I really enjoyed helping others.
I have worked at Horton Cross for 28 years- and I adore the home.


I love working with the elderly as I find it so interesting to listen to and hear about their lives.


My purpose has always been to help others.
I am family oriented and my family mean everything to me.


In my spare time, I am with them and I am also very involved with Carnival planning with the younger generation.

My name is Karen Newman, I have worked at Horton Cross Nursing Home for the last 13 years.


I have for the last 44 years working in residential and care homes and also hospitals.


Over my time at Horton Cross, l have progressed to a senior night carer, I was honoured to be given this opportunity.


My main love of my job is not just giving the care all our residents require, but finding out more about their lives when they were younger. To interact with them on what sort of day they have had i.e have they had visitors, what have they been watching on TV and of course, there has to be a chat about the weather...


In my spare time, l enjoy seeing my 5 grandchildren. I enjoy knitting. Getting out and walking my dog (not when it's raining though)
