Mum took a while to settle in as this was her first experience of a nursing home. The staff are mostly very kind, gentle and considerate; however, they do not always take the time to listen/understand when she talks to them. It is very clean and well-maintained, and the food is excellent. I think it
is expensive; however, I am certain Mum is happy and safe.

My dad has been in Ivelhurst for almost a year and he seems happy and content. The staff have a very difficult job but are always friendly and helpful. Dad is treated with respect and dignity and well cared for.

My wife was in Ivelhurst Nursing Home for two years and three months with Parkinson’s Disease and Parkinson’s Disease Dementia until her death. During that time, she received excellent care, consideration and understanding from the nurses and carers. As her dementia worsened, she was often uncooperative
and aggressive when staff wanted to move her or give her medication. The nurses and carers handled these occasions with great patience and understanding of her condition.
I was always kept informed of any problems with my wife's health and involved in any decisions that needed to be made.
I was able to visit my wife as often as I wished, to have lunch with her and to stay as long as I wanted. I got to know all the members of the staff, and they were all very friendly. It felt as if I was visiting my family, was the friendly welcome I received. My thanks to all the staff at Ivelhurst Nursing Home for the loving care my wife received and your friendship with me.

My 94 year old mother has been in the residential section for the last 16 months. She has a ground floor room with ensuite facilities. There is a bed, reclining chair and ample cupboard and wardrobe space. Her limited ability to walk unattended means she needs to be hoisted in and out of bed and into
her reclining chair. She watches tv in her room as she prefers her own company and environment.
The room is well kept and clean.
She can be awkward and demanding at times. Regardless the staff attend to her every need bringing her meals to her room as well as regular tea and biscuits. The staff are always smiling and create a very welcoming and caring atmosphere.
Visiting hours are extensive starting at 11:00 through to 19:00, excluding the lunch time period 12:00 to 14:00. She is visited by the chiropodist, hair dresser and nail beautician.
She needs for nothing and I am happy for her to remain at Ivelhurst for the years to come.

My mum came to Ivelhurst in 2022 and has received the most excellent care. I haven't worried about her being there as she always seems happy and well cared for. The staff seem extremely caring. They always chat with her and make sure she has drinks. Her room is small and cosy with a television. The
home has musicians who come in and sing with the residents. They also have parties at different times of the year. Food seems to be varied and always looks very appetising. The home always seems warm whenever I visit.

My father was wonderfully cared for from May 2017 until his death in October, firstly in residential then nursing care for the last 5 months of life. I was initially anxious as I had always expected to care for him myself, but that was not to be. However, I need not have worried as the care he received
was exemplary from the early days when my husband and I were able to take him for regular trips out, through his gradual decline until those last few months when he became bed-bound when I spent several whole days a week at his side. All the staff from every department were fantastic and I was able to 'camp' in his room for the last 60 hours of his life, sometimes alone, sometimes with other family members, until he died with my arm around him. We were treated with the utmost dignity and respect but also with friendly kindness for the entire two and a half years. As a family, we cannot praise the staff highly enough and will not hesitate to recommend Ivelhurst to others.

Our 93-year-old father was taken ill and after a spell in hospital decided that he wanted no more treatment but to be allowed to die peacefully.
The hospital fast-tracked him to Ivelhurst for end of life care and for the short time he was there until his death, he was treated with great care and dignity
by friendly and skilful staff who understood his wishes and needs, as well as always making the family welcome and supporting us too. We would have no hesitation in recommending Ivelhurst to anyone in similar circumstances.

I was very happy with the treatment/care of my Grandmother at Ivelhurst.
She was always well looked after and had a cup of tea at hand. Her room was always clean, the staff were friendly and considerate.
I was kept updated if there was an issue with my Nan.
The Home managed her well as she was a
very strong minded individual.
We only expected her to last a short time but she managed nearly 4 years in their hands.
Her room was new when she was admitted so probably one of the largest and best equipped (ensuite with views outside).
Nothing but praise.
She never wanted to go out of her room so can't comment on activities.

I have nothing but praise for the staff of Ivelhurst Care Home. They looked after our mother in the late stages of Alzheimer's, through to her death with utmost professionalism and care. From the cleaners right up to the nurses, everyone we got to know was kind and thoughtful. Mum was treated gently
with compassion and tenderness. We are so grateful for the care that she received.
