Overall Experience

The staff at this care home work really hard and are amazing with my sister. I feel that some form of outings to places/shops would be lovely and benefit some of the residents. Meals repetitive. Maybe a trifle or fruit and jelly for dessert or tea. More staff needed as after lunch a lot of the residents

are left struggling while waiting to be taken to the toilet. Luckily my sister is not needing that help at the moment.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are currently in the process of having a minibus on a regular basis. This will enable us to take our residents out on day trips. As the weather has got better, the activity team have been taking some residents to the local shops and caffes. Soon we will change our menus to spring/summer ones. We are welcoming residents and family members to have their input. Fresh fruits are served on a daily basis. We are using a dependency tool to ensure accurate and sufficient staff are deployed on each shift in order to meet all our residents needs. At present the tool shows that our staffing levels are above upper average.If at any time you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Overall Experience

My husband is really kindly looked after at Oak Lodge. The staff are happy + friendly and this is so good for family + visitors. He loves the food which is excellent. I cannot speak too highly of the home.

Overall Experience

Mum's always been looked after very well and treated lovely by all staff. She's been poorly lately and the staff have rallied around and made her life so much better. Living miles away now it is so lovely to see photos of her on Facebook looking so well when you can't physically be there as much as

you want to be. A huge thank you to all the staff looking after everyone over Christmas.

I sadly have to say my piece as an ex employee at Oak Lodge. 5 months ago I put my 96 year old mother into the home as she found living at home too much for her to cope due to mobility issues with i.e. stairs and not being able to have a bath/shower. I told her what a lovely place it was and she would

be very well looked after. The home as a whole is very nicely kept and clean with plenty of activities to keep residents occupied.
However ..... the first week mum was there she lost weight. Since then she has done nothing but complain to me about the food and in turn I have complained to the management/ kitchen staff. Nothing has changed and for a while now mum has been vomiting regularly and finds it difficult to eat the food. I usually go in to visit her around dinner time and have to say I have been disgusted by the food - burnt, tough meat, black roast potatoes, tiny portions and generally very unappetising. I find this totally unacceptable considering what she has to pay monthly.

Overall Experience

Such a lovely, welcoming home where our friend is living now. She always seems so happy and is obviously well cared for at Oak Lodge. The staff are very relaxed and seem happy too which gives a good indication of the atmosphere of the place.

Overall Experience

Mum is thriving in the home. The staff are fantastic, and the entertainment team are keeping the residents stimulated. I find this fantastic for all in the home. My mum is eating better than she has in a long time.
I can not fault the care Mum needs 24-hour care now, we are sad that she has to be in

nursing care but we are fully aware it is what's needed.

Overall Experience

Fantastic review of the home. All staff are so welcoming. My dad is smiling again. So much for him to engage with if he wishes to. Any concerns Dad has, they are dealt with straight away. The home is clean and Dad is being very well looked after.

Overall Experience

My wife entered the home in October 2023. The care and attention given to her has been exceptional. We cannot praise the staff enough. I have no hesitation in rating all the boxes as excellent. The home goes over the top with the activities for the residents. If I myself had to use a home in the future,

I would put this home at the top of the list for consideration. Many thanks to all the staff who have helped her settle in so well to her new surroundings.

Overall Experience

This is a wonderful home. Have visited quite a few but this by far is the friendliest and most welcoming.
Residents are clearly at the forefront of every member of staff's priority.
I regularly visit at times when the activities are on, I am always welcomed by staff and love to join in with all

the residents. I am always offered a cuppa.

Overall Experience

Oak Lodge was a recommendation following Dad's frequent admissions to the hospital. My initial discussions were dealt with professionally whilst also being friendly.
The home has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, superb staff throughout, food good, lovely surroundings and accommodating to individual needs.

Dad is settling in well and is clearly enjoying his change of home.

Oak Lodge Care Home is a pleasant, well-run home which provides good standard of personal and nursing care for mainly elderly residents.
Any family concerns are listened to and any appropriate action is taken to resolve issues.
Family and other visitors are all warmly welcomed and their views respected.

My mum has settled into the home very well. I have found the staff very caring, and nothing is too much trouble for them to help. Management is friendly and always happy to help with any paperwork or questions that I have had. The home and rooms are very clean and tidy.

Overall Experience

Mum recently arrived at Oak Lodge after having had a number of falls at home and several stays in hospital, so unfortunately, was unable to care for herself any longer on her own. Within this short time, the level of care and attention she has received has been exceptional on every level within the

home. Everyone is always welcoming, so kind, warm and friendly, and nothing is ever too much trouble. They are accommodating to Mum's individual needs, as well as to other residents. Given this, I would highly recommend Oak Lodge to anyone. I would like to take this opportunity to thank every single member of the staff/team for all their love and support, not only in regards to what Mum receives but towards us as relatives and close family members visiting too. I now have and get great comfort in the knowledge she is settled, happy and being well cared for here by the best. You're all wonderful and always go that extra mile. On behalf of my mum and I, we can't thank you enough.

Overall Experience

Due to Covid restrictions and living at distance. I have only visited Oak Lodge Care Home four times since my friend moved in January 2022. On each occasion, the staff were cheerful and willing and any shortfalls I had to voice was addressed quickly. I have just attended the first residents and family

meeting and was most impressed by the manager's request and wishes for the future. I am so glad my friend is there.
