With a devoted and long-serving team, many of whom have worked there for over 15 and even 20 years, The Rosary has a special, family feel. And while the building and the gardens are stunning, it’s the high standard of care which makes it really stand out.

As well as providing nursing, dementia and palliative care, the team offer respite care breaks which can be pre-booked in advance, as well as day care.

The team are passionate about Sanctuary Care’s unique Enriching Lives Framework, based on the six senses people need to feel truly happy and fulfilled, a sense of belonging, continuity, achievement, purpose, significance and security. Using this, they work with their residents to live life to the full and achieve their goals.

The residents enjoy some fantastic activities, from baking and flower arranging, to ‘virtually’ cycling to destinations around the globe from the comfort of home using Motiview, an incredible piece of technology where they peddle through their chosen destination on a static bike, with a special screen to enjoy the views.

With a hairdressing salon, residents enjoy weekly visits from a mobile hairdresser, as well as pamper sessions, with manicures and massages.

The secure gardens are spectacular, with raised beds for residents to enjoy growing their own. This summer they have grown everything from herbs to carrots and tomatoes. The residents have harvested their produce, which has been used in the kitchens where the chef creates delicious home-cooked meals every day, as well as home baking for afternoon tea.

Every Christmas the home’s award-winning maintenance man transforms the gardens into a spectacular winter wonderland, with thousands of festive lights.

Many of the ensuite bedrooms, as well as the main lounges, overlook the Quantock Hills, while others overlook Durleigh Reservoir, where you can see the boats in the summer.

We thought that the dinner was very nice we had a great day, thanks, what more do you want us to say? Mum looked very good. Tell the member of staff on the front door to cheer up, very rude, looks like she didn't want to be there, everyone else was absolutely fantastic. Great day, many thanks.

I cannot recommend The Rosary Nursing Home highly enough! From the moment my mum arrived, it was clear this is not just a care facility but a true home where residents are treated with dignity, kindness and respect. The staff are compassionate, attentive and always go the extra mile to ensure every
resident feels comfortable and valued.
They took the time to learn my mum's preferences and quirks, greatly enhancing her quality of life. The facilities are clean, welcoming and designed with comfort and safety in mind, offering everything from a beautiful garden to cosy communal areas. The meals are nutritious, delicious and tailored to dietary needs. My mum loves the meals. To anyone seeking exceptional care with dignity and joy, I wholeheartedly recommend The Rosary.
A helpful tip: label all clothing, as items may get mixed up. Clip-on name tags are a great solution.

My mother was originally in another home but did not receive the care we expected so we moved her to The Rosary. The difference in mum's care has been very noticeable. She is now receiving her proper medication and is no longer in pain. She is always clean, dressed nicely and is obviously eating properly
because she has put on weight. We visit twice a week and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. It's never easy putting a relative into a nursing home but we are confident that mum is now being properly cared for.

The manager and her staff at The Rosary are so good with Dad and the family. We enjoy our visits very much and are made to feel very welcome and kept up to date with Dad's care. After being in a community hospital prior to the care home where he was not settled at all and acting very disturbed, he is
so happy and relaxed and is getting the best of care. Thank you all for an amazing job and for keeping smiling even when in difficult situations.
Also the activities programme is so wonderful and love seeing the pics of all the happy faces.

My husband settled into The Rosary quite well. Staff are pleasant, kind and caring and food appears very good. He was moved to a nicer room with French windows so they can be opened in decent weather so he can have some fresh air. Would be helpful to have a small ramp from the French doors though, as
sometimes I take him outside and I have to ask a staff member to help me lift his wheelchair over the bottom doorframe.

My mother is happy and settled and her health has improved recently. She is well cared for likes talking with the staff and enjoys the food. she feels the shower room is a long distance from her room and the water takes quite a time to heat up - we understand this is a feature of an old building!
