The Wells Nursing Home welcomes up to 40 residents all in single rooms, with en-suite bathrooms. Each bedroom is well equipped with a nurse call system, television and personal washing facilities.

The home has been fully refurbished and some of the rooms drastically improved with beautiful en-suite facilities.

The home has two dining rooms. One spacious, very smart dining room facing the gardens with wonderful views of The Mendip Hills and a smaller room where residents can choose to eat in more privacy if they wish. The food is provided by experienced and well qualified cooks. The menus are varied and special needs are always met.

There is a comfortable sitting room where residents can relax. This leads into another sitting room with more views of the attractive gardens. The gardens are beautifully landscaped with several seating areas including a lovely patio area.

The team have been very attentive to my mother, making her feel welcome at the nursing home, despite the fact that she did not want to be there. Through their support and care, she has settled into the home. Whenever I call or visit they all make me feel very welcome and give me confidence that they
are looking after my mother well.

Mum has informed me on several occasions how she likes it at the nursing home, with the staff being nice and friendly. She likes the room she is in and the gardens where she usually has a daily walk. She has never once complained to me about the place and despite wishing to come home she seems very
happy here.

My husband enjoyed his stay and was well looked after with the nursing care. The view of the garden from his bedroom was very pleasant with a very comfortable bed.

My sister was only in the nursing home for a period of six months. She was comfortable there and happy with the care she received. As the weeks went on she became very ill indeed and the staff did all they could to take care of her right to the end.

My father was admitted to Wells Nursing Home after needing respite. My father didn’t adapt very well at first and became very stubborn and difficult. It was a hard decision to put him in a nursing home but having a full time Carer at home communication broke down and Dad's dementia got the better of
him. All the staff at Wells Nursing Home did a fantastic job encouraging him to eat as well as cooking for him whatever he wanted. My dad deteriorated mainly because we lost our dear mum in May 2020 and dad found it difficult without her after 64 years married. My father passed away at the nursing home on the 23/9/21 the nurses, managers and all the staff treated my dad's final hours with dignity and compassion. I would like to thank you all at the Wells Nursing Home for everything you did for dad and the difficult days he gave you was just another working day at the nursing home! Thank you.

My Aunt was admitted in January 2018 as I recall. She was very unwell physically and needed all nursing care. The Home nursed her back to better health over time. I should say that her personality was pretty spiky and challenging to the staff. However, although she was unwilling to take part in activities
the staff persevered initially. There followed a period of apparent staffing instability which saw many established nurses leave and new agency staff arrived whose grasp of English seemed poor. Unfortunately, my aunt reacted poorly resulting in them seeming to avoid my aunt. My aunt consistently complained about the food. Her attitude was exacerbated by cognitive impairment. She lost a lot of weight and often was unkempt and unwashed. Latterly, the management seems to have stabilised, their communications improved and most of the registered staff achieved better relations with her. When the end finally came, they managed things professionally with good communications.

After being bed-bound and looked after at home by my father for three years, it was decided that my mum should go into a care home to allow my father some respite.
The Wells Nursing Home was recommended to us.
We were obviously a little nervous about putting Mum in the care of strangers, even for
a short time, but we hand nothing to worry about as the care and attention Mum was given was second to none. The manager and staff kept us informed at all times and were very helpful and flexible during what was a very difficult time for us.

Thank you to all the staff who are doing a great job especially during the Coronavirus pandemic. Covid restrictions have curtailed a lot of the usual activities enjoyed by the residents but staff have stepped up to fill the gap by providing entertainment and keeping the conversation flowing. When I
have been able to visit my mother I have found that everything has been set up to make this as safe as possible for all concerned. Communication with relatives has greatly improved since the appointment of the new manager.

My husband was only in Wells Henton Nursing Home a few weeks, but while there he got such marvellous, gentle care. He was 99 1/2 and very frail and they took all that into his care. He didn't eat or drink but right to the end they would try a teaspoon at a time, never giving up.
Really fantastic place.
So glad his last days were there in their care.

Since new management has taken over, I couldn't be more pleased with the outstanding efforts that have been made to enhance my father's quality of life. One particular person has been a breath of fresh air, he has enabled my dad to get out of bed and in a chair for the first time in nearly a years,
and is now able to socialise with residents. Communication has been excellent with regular progress updates. Care staff helpful and friendly and have put us all at ease when visiting.

Not sure where to start: This home has changed over the last 12 months. The staffing levels are low. Lots of agency. They work very hard but so stretched and long hours this is not done to a high standard at times. English language is very poor. Communication is shocking.
Locked down since 16/3/20,
not one phone call from the home with an update on my father! Thank goodness he has a landline. I believe the home had set up garden visits, this was bought to my attention. Very upsetting as the weather has been fab!
The food is cold, sauces added like mint, gravy, apple, horseradish etc. On many occasions, dad has asked if it could come out separate.
The food menu is given weekly, you don't get what it says, random food with no choice at times. Of late, the last hot drink is at teatime 5 pm till 8 am the next morning. Items like cream shaver and deodorant borrowed from fathers personal cabinet. My father chose this home after a few respite visits in 2017. He wants to move.

My mother came into the home in March 2019. Within 5 days she had a major seizure. The staff reacted with professionalism immediately and thereafter, with kindness and patience in dealing with her ever-increasing dementia and declining health. She looks always well presented and often told us how much
she liked those who looked after and entertained her.

My mum has been in this care home since November 2019. I have found all the staff and manager to be excellent in the care and respect for mum. My mum recently celebrated her 100th birthday. All the staff were lovely and they made her a fantastic cake and put on a wonderful spread for her special day,
they couldn't have been kinder. I am so pleased I made the right decision in choosing The Wells Nursing Home for my mum.

I have always found Wells Nursing Home to be a very friendly and helpful place. My husband feels secure and safe here. I appreciate all that is done for him especially the extra touches - (treats of beer, burgers etc) when he was very underweight.

My Aunt was a resident here for a year. My sister and I were her main visitors and point of contact for the staff during her time there. She was treated with great care, compassion and dignity. She could be very difficult at times but all the staff were very patient and understanding of her needs. My
Aunt loved it there and called it her home until her death in hospital in October 2019. I believe the staff are excellent and need to be applauded for the difficult work they do with often, no recognition at all.
