The home features 63 spacious bedrooms, most are en suite and many rooms enjoy stunning views of the expansive landscaped grounds and rolling countryside. Cedars provides high quality 24-hour residential and nursing care, including expert care for people living with dementia.

Communities are broken up into separate units with a family feel so people can feel safe and comfortable. Services are based on independence, dignity and choice, supported by a person-centred approach to care.

Good atmosphere for residents and visitors due in part to good staffing. Activities are varied and interesting. As far as we can tell, medical needs are dealt with efficiently. Overall very satisfactory facility with good visiting hours.

The staff have worked hard to give the residents a lovely Christmas, including a meal out, invitations to the family to join them for lunch on Christmas Day with many activities.

My husband arrived at The Cedars in July after a spell in hospital. We are very pleased with our choice of care home. He is very happy and well looked after by all staff. We would recommend The Cedars to everyone, (we meaning our family).

Dad was made very welcome as were us as a family. Sometimes I feel the residents are left unattended for long periods. However, I feel the staff are doing their best. The staff are very friendly and caring. Dad seems to have settled in well and responds well to the staff. He loves attention and interaction
with them.

Prior to Brighterkind, it was common for bells to ring almost continuously.
This changed, however on 3/9/16, once more bells are ringing and ringing. It seems that some bells are being ignored?

We have recently made some changes to our catering service to enhance our resident dining experience and have introduced a new “Autumn/Winter menu” offering a choice of appetising and nutritionally balanced meals. The Cedars Nursing Home team seeks regular feedback from residents about the choice of meals served and this helps us to plan our menus, ensuring that all meals offered are appropriate for each resident. If there is anything specific your relative would like to be included perhaps this could be discussed the next time you visit our home, or perhaps you could join us for a meal of your choice to enjoy with your relative.


At The Cedars Nursing Home, there are always activities planned with something in mind for everyone, to keep everyone engaged in, just the way they’d like. Our Wishing Well scheme is really centred around understanding our residents, finding out about their life history and getting to know the things they would really like to do, so that our caring team can help to make their wishes a reality – there have been some amazing success stories across Brighterkind and the team are keen to get going with this in addition to the home’s daily activities programme. Your cousin’s birthday is approaching, in October and we have already planned a party for her and friends to enjoy, which we know she is eagerly anticipating.

Mum sadly was not able to return to her residential care home due to a rapid deterioration in her health. We were offered the Cedars as a place where mum could be well looked after and where we as a family could spend quality time as she was for palliative care. The care that mum received and support
we received as a family were amazing. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome at such a difficult time. Mum was only at the Cedars for a very short time but would have loved it if she had been more aware.

I qualified as a nurse in 2009. I started my career back home in India for a few years before coming to the UK in 2013. I quickly found my passion for elderly care and felt a great sense of achievement when helping others live to their best potential. When the residents smile and see them happy, I know the team has done a fantastic job in enriching their lives.


I have worked as Head of Care and Deputy Manager for a few homes around London and in Hampshire. I believe I can keep up my good work to keep my residents and their loved ones happy & comfortable. I have always made a good relationship with all the multi-healthcare professionals for the well-being of my residents.


I love being out in nature and driving around in my spare time. My little one keeps me busy, the rest of the time.

My name is Michelle. I started my nursing career slightly later in life. I studied at Bournemouth University and after qualifying went to work in Bournemouth Hospital on the stroke unit. Hi, I have been working in administration for over 10 years. I am thoroughly enjoying leading such a strong team. Tasks related to administration are often important to keeping a business running efficiently. So, having the responsibility to complete tasks on time and in a quality manner without much oversight is crucial and really rewarding for me personally. Being in administration has many other benefits - I interact on a daily basis with residents, families, staff and the local community which can be really fun.


In my spare time, I love looking after my menagerie of animals, horse riding, and mostly just being outdoors! I also love spending quality time with my two children, who like to keep me on my toes!

Hello,


I started working for Cedars at the beginning of 2019. I have been caring for the elderly community since I was 16 years old and decided to pursue a career in Cedars where I became a Senior Care Assistant. I am also part of the Activities team. I love learning about dementia and how I can benefit those diagnosed and this led to me being a trained Dementia champion for the home.


I implement many different ideas, improving the quality of care for our residents. My focus is inclusion and making sure all residents are included in everything, not only to enable them to feel independent and purposeful but also so that they are not inadvertently excluded by others.


When I am not at work I enjoy Arts and Crafts, Vintage/Antique Fairs, Indian head massage and Reiki.
