Overall a good experience.
A few criticisms for you to improve.
1) First evening here I was cold and lonely. the bed was not the right sort, but it was changed the next day.
Could someone have come and talked to me on that first evening?
2) When calling for help at night, it took a long time
for anyone to arrive. On one occasion 3/4 of an hour.
3) Food. Could you offer a bedtime drink between 8-10pm?

Thank you for taking the time to complete a review form. We are sorry to learn your first evening did not meet your expectations and that you found the specialist equipment recommended by the hospital team uncomfortable. We are pleased to note it was changed the next day. We know that there are a lot of interactions with the team during the first hours of admission to generate an individual plan of care which can be very tiring when you are adjusting to a new environment, and we like to give residents the time and space to settle with a call bell at hand for assistance when required. We regularly monitor call bell response times which are usually between 0-5 minutes; I apologise that you were subject to a delay during your stay with us. We do have drinks and snacks available day and night which can be requested by residents at any time as well as a supper trolley visiting the rooms in the evenings; I am sorry if this was not made clear to you, we will ensure this is communicated effectively in future. We are pleased that you felt the stay was overall a good experience and were delighted that you chose to extend your stay by a week.

My father was admitted for end of life care after a somewhat-traumatic experience in hospital. The staff and management could not have been kinder or more attentive to his needs and his care. They allowed him to die with dignity and with his self respect intact. I cannot thank the staff enough for making
this possible. Their attention to detail was impressive, nothing was too much trouble for them and they went out of their way to make visiting relatives (some of whom had travelled long distances) feel welcome.

My dad moved to Harnham Croft Care Home in the middle of the pandemic. The whole team did everything to support Dad and the family.
He has been happy, well looked after and treated as an individual.
A special mention to the nurse/management who has been an incredible support. She is friendly, professional
and exceptional at her job.

I booked my parents into Harnham Croft for a period of respite to cover Christmas/New Year and to ensure that they would be properly cared for during the festive period.
From being greeted into the home until their departure date, my folks received first-class care and attention. The staff were considerate
to their needs and showed levels of compassion befitting their profession and when the occasion required it.
Their rooms were spotlessly clean as was the whole nursing home, especially the dining, lounge areas and other common rooms. The whole place was light and airy and filled with a fresh aroma, so unlike similar establishments.
My parents were very pleased with the variety and standard of the meals provided and enjoyed the meals in the dining room which allowed them an opportunity to interact with other residents and pass the time of day.
In general, all levels of staff were polite and courteous throughout their stay and nothing was ever too much bother for them. Time permitting, the staff were engaging and were happy to enter into conversational chit chat to the delight of an elderly person.
Would they return to Harnham Court? A definite 'Yes'!

Harnham Croft have been outstanding in the care of my mother-in-law. She was very poorly when she arrived at Harnham Croft in November 2020 without their absolute dedicated care and help she would not have recovered to where she is now. Even with Covid 19 we were informed and assisted as much as possible
in relation to her welfare and our allowed visits. Thank you all so very much; you have been marvellous in every way possible.

All the staff were absolutely amazing for my granny's 100th birthday. The way they have split the second lounge and built a permanent divider so you can safely sit one side and see and talk through the microphone to your relative is amazing. Even though you can't be together properly at the moment the
home has set things up so you can visit safely.

I found the care home very comfortable, and the staff were very professional and helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them to provide.

Harnham Croft is in an idyllic setting and very conducive to the relaxed atmosphere that I always find when visiting my mother. “Kind care is built into everything I do. It’s about going over and beyond to ensure Residents receive the kindest care possible to benefit their quality of life.”


After gaining her degree in Geriatric Nursing in Germany, Irene has enjoyed a vast career in the care industry. As a dedicated healthcare professional, Irene has gained a wealth of experience in providing care to elderly people to help enrich their lives, leading to her progression as Home Manager.


Irene closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that means they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoyed most about her role, Irene remarked: “I love working with so many fantastic people to achieve the same goal: to provide the kindest possible care for each Resident.”


Irene credits her biggest achievement to overcoming her fear of heights and completing a skydive from 15000ft in the air.


Outside of work, Irene is a keen dancer and artist and enjoys spending quality time with her family.
