I visited my sister from 11.50am to 2 pm on Thursday 11th April. She was happy, well turned out and had just had her hair done. I had lunch with her. The meal was set out on a table for two and was delicious, nutritious and well balanced. The correct attention had been given to my sister's diabetic
diet. The carers serving the food made sure that the quantity was to our liking. After lunch, I left my sister happily settling down to watch a film show with the other residents.

The management and staff of this homework incredibly hard to provide a happy, caring and relaxed atmosphere for my father to live in. Nothing is too much trouble for them, they are always cheerful and patient and professional. My father is safe, well-fed and comfortable. The home is beautifully clean,
the views are amazing and I am always made to feel very welcome when I drop in. Very good all round.

My father lives in a peaceful, caring and pleasant environment. It is clean and tranquil with lovely food and delightful nature right outside.
The staff are highly professional and caring.
The standard of everything is very high, only occasionally so I wonder if they may need more staff available
at times. He is very happy and well looked after, which makes us happy.

I can only praise all aspects of the care my mother receives at Harnham Croft Care Home it may not be her own home but its the next best thing! All staff are wonderful to her and all the other resident's nothing is too much trouble for them. I live 200 miles away from Salisbury and I have no need to
worry about her as I know she is being well cared for.

This one of the better care homes that I have been involved with, but it is not brilliant. Most of the staff are kind and caring, but there are one or two who do not have the patience to look after elderly people and treat them as naughty children. The food is plentiful and edible, but bland and unadventurous.
There is no curry, spicy dishes, or much use of herbs and garlic, but plenty of stodgy cakes and puddings. Housekeeping can be a bit erratic. Bathroom bins aren't always emptied when they need to be, even when full of used continence pads, although generally, the place is clean enough. Laundry gets lost or is sent back to the wrong resident. Activities are fairly banal. As I said, better than average but not brilliant.

My mother has been at Harnham Croft for 2 years. In that time, we have found the management sympathetic and always willing to make the time to see us, if needed.
The nurses and carers go out of their way to try and engage with my mother, and they persevere when this isn't easy. There are many regular
activities organised for residents, and this creates a relaxed community atmosphere. I would be very happy to recommend Harnham Croft to friends.

Mum has been in the home for 17 months and we have been happy to have mum in the home. They are all proactive and the food is very good. There are lots of activities. More than anything we feel mum is being looked after.

My mother has been a resident at Harnham Croft since June 2015. She has been very happy there and her needs, both physical and overall well-being are consistently met. The surroundings are very comfortable and she has been able to make her room her own. Their philosophy of it being the residents own
home has meant that she has a good deal of choice over most aspects of her life. Residents are encouraged to be sociable, but if you prefer not, then it is your choice. There is a wide range of activities available, in fact, there is something on every day. There are also trips out, so opportunities to be involved in the wider community. The residents are encouraged to share their concerns and wishes in a regular meeting with staff so that issues can be addressed quickly. The staff are a wonderful, hard-working group of people who are friendly and caring. The management is proactive and very dedicated to making the home of the highest quality.

Harnham Croft is a friendly, caring nursing home, which provides sympathetic care for its residents. Recently the home has been comprehensively redecorated to a high standard. Management is firm but the staff all like working there and are cheerful even under the inevitable stress of working with the
old and infirm. Nursing staff respond quickly to infections and there seems to be a good relationship with the local doctors. All in all my wife is well looked after at Harnham Croft.

My husband had a severe stroke six years ago and six months after the stroke came to Harnham Croft care home as a resident. From the moment he arrived he began to relax with the happy atmosphere in the home. During these years he has had excellent care, kindness and first class housing. He enjoys the
food which is provided by a very good chef. The events which are organised by the events Manager, which I have included indoors, interactive quizzes and games and very nice outings. The main reason for all these, in particular, aspects is that the manager has given so much of her time and put so much energy into achieving making the home very special and comfortable for all the residents.

“Kind care is built into everything I do. It’s about going over and beyond to ensure Residents receive the kindest care possible to benefit their quality of life.”


After gaining her degree in Geriatric Nursing in Germany, Irene has enjoyed a vast career in the care industry. As a dedicated healthcare professional, Irene has gained a wealth of experience in providing care to elderly people to help enrich their lives, leading to her progression as Home Manager.


Irene closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that means they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoyed most about her role, Irene remarked: “I love working with so many fantastic people to achieve the same goal: to provide the kindest possible care for each Resident.”


Irene credits her biggest achievement to overcoming her fear of heights and completing a skydive from 15000ft in the air.


Outside of work, Irene is a keen dancer and artist and enjoys spending quality time with her family.
