Both my parents were residents at Mavern House, the care and compassion shown by all staff members was superb. I cannot begin to say how grateful we are to all concerned. Thank you so much, knowing they both received such great care is such a comfort to the rest of the family.

My mother has been a resident at Mavern House for 10 years since becoming partially paralyzed from a stroke. Throughout this time we have been exceptionally pleased by the care she has and is receiving, also in the way my mother has continually improved facilities and amenities. Particularly impressive
has been their diligence in preventing any carers of COVID-19 and the creation of a pod for comfortable and safe visiting.

My mother was a resident with end of life dementia care needs, the staff treated her with the utmost respect and dignity as if she was one of their own family members. This gave me great peace of mind!
They enabled visit’s during lockdown and even assist with communication’s via a white board which
they were willing to scrib, amazing! It seemed as if nothing was too much trouble for the staff and you can tell that they really do care.

My mother has been a resident at Mavern House since 2019. She was diagnosed with dementia and unfortunately, this meant she was unable to stay in her own home.
Since she has lived at Mavern she has made fantastic progress, managing to do things for herself, which we thought she would not be able to
do again. This is down to all of the wonderful care of all the staff, who have never given up on her and now she has a quality of life.
Every time I visit she is happy, content, not stressed or worried and you can see she is looked after. This gives me and my family great peace of mind and with this current situation, I have never worried about Mum because I know she is in the right place.
Thank you, to all of the wonderful staff for everything you do.

My mother became a resident of Mavern House when my father died in 2019. From my first enquiry call, the quality, friendliness, concern and sincerity of the staff was abundantly clear. The manager quickly assessed Mum as a priority and settled her nerves about a move immediately and amazingly within
less than a week my mother moved in. My mother received so much attention from day 1 from all staff, the care assistants, nurses and cleaners. There was and is always a buzz in the home, always people around. I had no fear that my mother would ever be left unattended if I wasn't there and she needed help. My mother was a fussy eater but Mavern would make her special food if requested. Birthdays and Christmas were also made special with cakes and balloons.
During lockdowns, Mavern went out of their way to keep my contact with Mum via Facetime or by standing in the garden. Sadly my mother died in November but I am comforted that she spent her last years in Mavern.

My father moved to Mavern House at the beginning of 2020 for end of life nursing care. The care and love given to him during his last few months was outstanding and made his quality of life so much better than it might have been. Sadly we lost him suddenly 4 weeks into the first lockdown in 2020 (but
not covid related). The staff made every effort to be able to let me see him, despite the restrictions.
I am so glad that Mavern House has been able to remain covid free throughout this difficult year.

Since my mother moved to Mavern House in 2016, I have been impressed every time I visit by the warmth of welcome from all staff I met, comfortably on first-name terms immediately. My mother, now 98 but often still in her eighties (!), quickly settled into a very comfortable and well-equipped room,
and carers were soon firm and long-term friends, won over by her ready sense of humour and smile. Personal care has always been so effortlessly and professionally carried out including, where possible, dental and eye care. The nurses are experienced and skilled, easy to talk with (currently by phone) and discuss mum's health. Elders' birthdays are a major feature for all residents, and the staff join in with gusto and love. "Extra-curricular" activities are so many and entertaining, and residents enjoy revisiting and demonstrating "old school" skills. The pod visits are managed with great care and efficiency, as are regular video calls set up between her and family. Superb place!

From the point of view of a son of a resident, I am always extremely grateful for the 'can do' attitude of the staff and how this filters down not just to me - facilitating visits and so on - but also to the residents. The dedication of the staff and the obvious pleasure it gives them to work with those

My mother has lived in Mavern House for nearly 12 years and I’ve always been so impressed by the care she has received there. Living a long way away I haven’t been able to visit her for the past year. The staff have been so good at keeping me in touch, helping her to answer the phone, sending photos,
emails etc, and they are without exception friendly and helpful. It gives me, a 70 year old grandmother, great peace of mind to know my mother, who’s nearly 99, is in such good hands through such uniquely difficult times.

As a family member of a resident at Mavern I am continually impressed by the high standard of care provided by the team and the services they offer those in their care. In these difficult times, it's such a relief to know that my grandfather is receiving care, entertainment and companionship amongst
the staff and other residents. Despite the necessary restrictions in place due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the staff at Mavern have been incredibly resourceful and helpful in setting up safe, contactless meetings via video call to allow family members and residents the chance to stay in contact and to see one another without the risk of spreading the virus. I applaud every member of the team and the work they do. I believe they are a shining example of how a nursing home should provide care and I would encourage anyone considering such services to get in touch with them.

On behalf of our family, we want to thank the entire Mavern House team/family for the loving care and attention given to my sister. From the very start, nearly 8 years ago, my sister was cared for in a compassionate and inclusive way throughout. Over these many years, we witnessed so many acts of kindness
from all of the management and team in every capacity. To say they all worked so far beyond the "call of duty" could only be described as an understatement. Sadly my sister passed away on the 4th January 2021. The outpouring of grief expressed by all of the team was, to say at least, heartbreaking. We as a family very much feel part of the Mavern family and will continue to visit covid restrictions permitting. Once again thank you, your care and love will never be forgotten

Apart from being able to visit my elderly friend (resident since October 2020) either outside, and then twice in the pod, I am in a position to say how accommodating and kind staff have been on my visits. My friend has been highly praiseworthy of her room, the staff and most of the time of the food
she has been given. It has obviously been a very difficult and stressful time for all the staff during the past year but it seems that every effort has been made to make the residents feel comfortable and secure and staff have done their best to alleviate the inevitable frustrations of periods of isolation.
During the four months that my friend has been in residence, I get the impression of excellent management and communications, friendliness and genuine care. Not having been able to visit my friend in the normal way because of Covid, my ratings will mostly be "good" but I have little doubt of extremely high quality in all respects.

As a relative who has been visiting the home for many years, I have been made to feel very much part of the Mavern family and this has enabled me to see first-hand how the home is constantly evolving and always trying to improve the way it operates. Under the current leadership team, this process has
accelerated and has seen it run as efficiently as possible within the confines of what is an old, but lovely building and I always marvel at the care and genuine affection that many staff have for Mum. My opinion as a relative is often sought on ways further improvement can be achieved. The Elders at Mavern lead a good life and are stimulated as much as possible with many social events, activities and entertainment. I could not imagine Mum being anywhere else and as a family, we count our blessings that it was Mavern House that we chose. She has been so well cared for and there is no better place for her to spend her final years.

Mavern House is a truly wonderful, caring and kind community. I cannot fault it. I am continually amazed at the level of care delivered with kind friendship, charm, humour and grace by the exceptionally dedicated staff. They seem to be a host of true angels. My frail 93-year-old mother arrived in a
very fragile and poor state in 2019, after a bad fall and 6 weeks in hospital. She has been nurtured back to good health, surrounded by love and kindness, stimulated by new activities and regular company and she has a new lease of life which she is greatly enjoying. She receives tailored individual care. She is particular about her food and the chef is amazing at catering to her particular wishes.
Covid-19 has been managed brilliantly with no cases to date and I am full of respect and gratitude for what has been done to keep my mother so well and happy in such challenging times. Thank you to everyone at Mavern House.

My father has been at Mavern House for just under 1 year. I have only positive things to say about this outstanding nursing home. They are an extremely well-run team who genuinely care for their service users. The quality of my father's life has improved dramatically since arriving at Mavern House.
All the staff go out of their way to make my father really feel at home. He loves joining in on all the fun and varied activities. He’s made new friends and always seems really happy. My father is a very fussy eater and always comments about the lovely food (that says a lot for him to say that). In these difficult times, the staff have been supportive and have maintained a covid-free home. Their hard work and dedication to keep everyone safe and supported has been outstanding. I am happy to recommend Mavern House to anyone looking to put their loved one into a home. It really feels like a caring loving home.

My mother has now been a resident of Mavern House since April 2020 and I can only shower praise upon the completely dedicated staff for their wonderful care of her. Not only do they ensure she receives excellent food and first-class care but they also ensure her mental wellbeing is fully cared for.
The Enrichment programmes are wonderful and make life fun-filled and stimulating. The addition of the well thought out and constructed visitors' pod was exceptional and I look forward to when we can return for future visits. There Christmas/New Year programme of events made me very jealous but I was pleased that the residents had such a wonderful festive period. All staff at Mavern House make up an amazing team, regardless of position, but it obviously takes an excellent management team to produce excellence at all levels. I wouldn't want my mum to be anywhere else.

As the Home Manager of Mavern House, I am always approachable and open. Because I believe in families’ continued involvement with their loved one’s care, they spend a great deal of time developing relationships with people who live at Mavern House and their families.
