Milford House Care Home is a Salisbury residence originally built for the Earl of Ilchester, surrounded by scenic countryside and lovely gardens close to numerous local amenities, offering 24-hour nursing, respite, palliative and end of life care and where visitors and family members are welcome at all times.

The home has been extended and refurbished to provide a supportive and relaxing atmosphere which maximises the charm and character of the property whilst offering dedicated person centre nursing care.

Staff members are highly-qualified and passionate about the quality of care and support offered to each resident and all departments, care, catering, domestic, laundry and activities, work together to provide a friendly and homely environment that encourages each resident to pursue an active lifestyle and their own personal interests. This ethos of care is reflected by the home's recent CQC inspection, carried out in November 2020, where ratings of 'Good' were achieved across all the five key areas of inspection.

My husband had malignant terminal brain tumours and came from the hospice to Milford House for end of life care. The experience was amazing for both of us. The carers and nurses were supportive of both of us, friendly, approachable and endlessly patient. I could have my meals there and remain his wife
whilst they did the caring bit. His room became our home. At a very stressful time, I could not have wished for a better place to be. He had a very peaceful death.

When needing assistance for the toilet, help response time is poor, so have been using the sleep response. Even if someone responded more quickly and prioritised problems, this would help as some people need a much quicker response time.

Barchester Milford House Care Home is a caring and understanding home. Everyone works hard, but things get pressured when there isn't enough time to complete the job. If minor issues arise, they are sorted effectively. I do not see any problems that are on-going that effect my father's care. He is comfortable
and is well cared for. Staff are friendly and helpful and very welcoming.

The care staff and admin team could not be more helpful and supportive. It is clear they hold genuine affection for the residents even when their challenging behaviour must be trying. They are keen to involve relatives with decisions regarding care and are always friendly and professional. Areas to
improve would be cleanliness of residents rooms, communication with the nursing team and visibility of management. Otherwise, a well run and caring home.

I have visited Milford House over a period of eight years - and have been very impressed by the care of everyone, for residents and each other. I never feel I am visiting a "home", I feel I am welcomed home by all the staff and the residents, who are happy and so well cared for. It is where I would
wish to be when I can no longer look after myself.

My father was transferred from Salisbury District Hospital in October 2015 following frequent falls in his own home. We sadly had to make the decision to put him into a nursing home and we knew it would be difficult for him to accept. When my father was greeted by all the care and admin staff, they
were warm, friendly and welcoming. The care my father has received has been excellent. All staff are very empathetic, supportive and kind to all of us. The whole team provide a very safe and happy environment for my father and I cannot fault the care he has.

Agnieszka

Agnieszka Musial

Job Title: General Manager

Joined: 2024

Agnieszka Musial is the General Manager at Milford House where she aims to ensure residents, staff, families and visitors all feel they are in a caring, welcoming environment and are being supported by every member of the team.


Aga has been working in the Health and Social Care Sector for the past 15 years. After finishing her higher education in Poland she moved to the United Kingdom where she has managed various adult care settings ranging from learning disabilities, and specialist neurobehavioural homes to her real passion for elderly care.


Together with the amazing team at Milford House Aga wants to ensure the continued delivery of outstanding care to all the home's residents, their families and friends.


Aga always strives to make a difference in people’s lives and finds it rewarding when she can help somebody live their life to the fullest. As Aga says 'For me, this is what working in care has always been about, and I know that I can continue delivering this mission with the support of my wonderful colleagues at Milford House.'


Juliana

Juliana Santos

Job Title: Deputy Manager

With 6 years of experience as an RN at St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey Juliana is looking forward to supporting General Manager, Aga and the rest of the team in her role as Deputy Manager. Having been involved with patients in a hospital Juliana is now translating her experience of working with the elderly into a care setting and is looking forward to supporting our residents and working with them and their families as well as with the teams in the home to provide them with the best possible experience.

With 20 years of experience as an RN, five of which have been at Milford, Josipa is excited to be taking up the role of Clinical Lead. With a passion for elderly care, Josipa will be bringing all her skills to the role and will be supporting residents, their families, staff teams and visiting professionals in her role. She says there is nothing she wants more than to work to ensure that the residents we look after receive the best possible care and support.


Josipa lives in Salisbury and when not at work is busy supporting her family and says she has two full-time jobs!

With 45 years of experience in the catering and hospitality industry, Kevin heads up the chef and kitchen team at Milford House. Kevin is passionate about delivering a delicious and nutritious range of menus for our residents both on a daily basis and for our special events. Leading our talented team Kevin will be ensuring that Milford's reputation as the home of delicious cakes is maintained!


Ann

Ann Brown

Job Title: Senior Sister

Joined: 1996

Ann is one of our Senior Sisters as well as one of our longest-serving staff members having worked as part of the night team for 28 years. Ann has always worked nights and says that days have never tempted her as, in her role as Senior Night Sister, she gets to know all the residents in the home, can help wherever needed and is very hands-on. Ann has a wealth of experience and is a hugely valued member of our Milford family thankfully for us has no plans to retire any time soon!


Louise

Louise Butler

Joined: 1998

Louise is one of our Senior Sisters who has been at Milford House for more than 25 years! She leads a team dedicated to delivering exceptional care to our residents and is responsible for the smooth running of her area of the home. Louise originally came to the home for a six-month placement and has been here ever since and cannot imagine working anywhere else.

Catherine has recently celebrated 30 years working at Milford House and with her wealth of experience is focused on delivering person-centred care to the residents she looks after. Catherine loves what she does and can't imagine doing anything else and we are delighted she feels this way as we can't imagine Milford House without her!

Karen has been at Milford for over 20 years and is one of our Senior Carers. Karen loves building up a rapport with the residents she looks after, getting to know them and their families so that she can deliver real person centered care bringing to everything she does a wealth of experience. Karen says she loves coming to work and being with what she calls her second family.

With 10 years of prior experience in an Administrator role, we are lucky to have Catriona leading our Administration team. Catriona loves working in the care environment getting to know residents and their families and supporting them in whatever way she can. Gale Louw

Gale joined the Milford team in 2019, initially as a carer but has gradually transferred over to the Activities Team where she is now the full-time Coordinator. Gale has a passion for creating comprehensive
and inclusive programme of vibrant events for residents, family members and friends to enjoy and, along with the rest of the team, ensure that each resident is able to participate in meaningful activities
tailored to their likes and dislikes.


Originally from South Africa, when not at work Gale loves nothing more than exploring the UK, catching up with family and friends, being creative across a variety of disciplines and keeping her eyes out for
great activities and events she can bring back to the home for
residents to enjoy.

Jane Durran

Job Title: Activities Assistant

Joined: 2025

Jane is joining our Activity Team as a new challenge in her career path. She comes to Milford with a wealth of life experience and is looking forward to being a part of the team delivering outstanding activities for our residents. Jane is Dorset born and bred and moved to Salisbury in 1987 and lives just around the corner. She loves quizzes, arts and crafts, creating events and will happily have a dance - so she will fit right in!

Liang Guo

Job Title: Head Housekeeper

Joined: 2007

Liang has been at Milford since 2007 and has been a key part of the domestic team before being appointed Head Housekeeper. Liang says that he likes everything about his job and is committed to ensuring that he and the laundry and domestic teams provide excellent service to our residents. Since coming from China, Liang and his family have always lived in Salisbury and when not at Milford Liang enjoys taking them to explore different parts of the UK.


Kelly

Kelly Miller

Job Title: Administration Assistant

Joined: 2006

Kelly has worked at Milford House since 2006 in a variety of roles and is now a full-time member of the office team. She is a fountain of knowledge concerning all things Milford and if we don't know where to find something or what to do, she usually has the answers! When not at Milford, Kelly likes to take the odd quick trip to Spain to recharge her batteries, and her favourite Milford job is organising the Christmas party.
