The Chefs worked very hard and beautiful food on Saturday 18th June, both good teamwork. Nicest food I have had for a long time (jacket potato, burgers, steak, good team and all the carers on were fantastic too).

My father was only at Blenheim House for a very short time but from the start he was treated as a valued friend. It didn't take him long to settle in and enjoy being looked after so well. The rooms and facilities are wonderful but the staff, including those behind the scenes are the real gems. In the
last week of his life the care given to dad was given with care, compassion and respect. This care and that shown to all the family, especially me, made the last days much easier to bear.

My husband has been in this home since last June. He has dementia. He can be very demanding and has been confrontational. His care has been exemplary since he arrived on the unit. He is well cared for and happy. The staff are well-trained, patient and kind.
The atmosphere is warm, relaxed and friendly.
The chef there is a wonderful cook, but more importantly he is a genuine friend to all the residents, showing empathy and patience in his contacts, not just to the residents, but to the friends and relatives when they come to visit!! Well done.

My aunt was only resident for three weeks, having moved from another nursing home. The atmosphere at Blenheim House is calm and caring. The staff are welcoming and my aunt was treated with care and compassion as were we. Her end of life was managed as we hoped and she died peacefully with a staff member
in attendance.

My mother began at Blenheim House in August 2014. She has settled in remarkably well as a result of the excellent care she has experienced and combined with the wonderful environment she finds herself in. She has been able to walk in the garden which is such a fundamental part of her life. She enjoys
a beautiful room and good food. The staff are exceptional always giving as much time as possible to her needs. She is a fiercely independent woman and they have recognised that and showed it whenever possible.

Blenheim House and staff would have been given excellent in almost every category bar for one or two small issues. i.e laundry care, personal belongings going astray from the laundry, not all the time but on the odd occasion. The odd request of furniture repair takes a long time to action on occasions,
but staff always seem flat out so it's understandable. The kindness of staff is second to none, the rooms are lovely, sometimes could be cleaner in the corners! Meals more suitable to those with great teeth/dentures (softer very and chewable meat for us oldies) but great menus otherwise. Lovely people, lovely place.

My husband was only 45 when diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2010. Blenheim House took care of him for the last weeks of his life and I cannot fault them for the love and support they gave to both my husband and myself. The staff genuinely care. They love the work they do and were all visibly upset
by his passing. Although my husband was living in Clover Meadows, the floor predominantly for Alzheimer's residents, the staff did everything possible to give him 24 hour care and adjust to his needs and keep him safe. You cannot help but worry yourself sick when a loved one is terminally ill and away from home but staff encouraged me to stay with him overnight for his final week, which I did and I will always be so grateful to them as I know it made a difference to us both being able to sleep in the same room and to be with him as he passed away. Blenheim House feels more like a 5 star hotel than a nursing home. Although a private facility, thanks to his Consultant Oncologist, he was able to stay there as an NHS patient and received the same high level of care and patience as all the other residents. You are encouraged to voice any concerns you may have and it is always met with enthusiasm and understanding and not least of all personal adjustments. Any incidents that may occur are reported to the next of kin without delay. Visiting time is up to the individual - I practically lived there but when I could not be there, a member of staff was checking on him every 15 minutes and sometimes all day. I love you very much Blenheim and will never forget what you did for us xx

Using my Level 5 Qualification in Health and Social Care and many years of experience, I help to maintain our excellent care standards and support the home in its care of adults with residential, dementia and nursing needs
