Trowbridge Oaks is a homely care home offering nursing, residential, palliative and respite care.

The landscaped gardens at this well equipped modern home are fully wheelchair accessible and can be enjoyed by all residents on sunny days.

A bright conservatory can be enjoyed whatever the weather. Many of the well-furnished bedrooms have garden views, and all have been furnished and decorated to create a homely feel.

A varied seasonal menu is prepared using fresh produce and there are always hot and cold options. The chef also caters for individual tastes and special needs.

Ever since my partner came to stay at Trowbridge Oaks Care Home, he has received first class care. I can leave him knowing that his best interests have been met and that I can relax and feel better in myself with that knowledge. This is the second time my brother has been to stay at Trowbridge Oaks. He asked for the Oaks rather than anywhere else. He seems to have bucked up since he's been there, as he had gotten very low. He's a fussy person but the staff try and do their best to please him.
I think the activities are quite
varied. Something for everyone's taste. It's really helpful to have visiting time so casual as it helps the family.

The overall standard is good and the medical care and support is excellent.
However, the rooms need some updating and the cleanliness needs to be improved with better and more regular servicing.


The quality, presentation and availability of the food is poor and needs an immediate in-depth review

not least because it is an important and enjoyable part of the day.

My mother was admitted to Trowbridge Oaks after being discharged from hospital far too early and still needing nursing care. The premises and staff were brilliant, the nursing staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. A great relief to the family knowing Mum was being cared for properly
and in comfort. I would highly recommend.

My father was transferred from the hospital to Trowbridge Oaks for palliative care. He had already visited The Oaks many times with a church group, and we had also heard good things about the home, so we were happy that a place was available. Sadly, Dad was only there for 10 days before he passed away,
but the care he received during that time was second to none; we simply could not have asked for better care. Dad was treated with courtesy, dignity, and respect, but the staff were also friendly and quickly made him feel at home. They also care for the families - we too were treated with professionalism, but in a warm, friendly way. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, both for the residents and the families. We were told that we could visit at any time of the day or night. After Dad passed away, a candle was lit for him in the entrance, and staff dealt with the doctor and undertaker for us. They were all amazing and we can't thank them enough. We would highly recommend The Oaks.

My friend and other residents were engaged in a singing activity in the main ground floor room. The activity was very well organised and some residents, including my friend, seemed to enjoy it. The activity ended with afternoon tea. The staff were attentive and caring.

Trowbridge Oaks, the entire team and everyone associated were amazing in the last seven weeks of my mum's life. We and she entered the 'care home environment' with some trepidation, given the adverse UK press reports, poor treatment and abuse patients had received!
Trowbridge Oaks and team gave Mum
the most wonderful personal care and attention anyone could ask for. A brilliant team.
Mum finally passed in the arms of a nurse, her emotion for our loss was genuinely touching. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

We are very happy with the care our Mum gets. She has many skin lotions etc to be treated with. We are always very pleased to find Mum is downstairs along with staff as Mum is very sociable and loves to be with other people.

My wife has been a resident for over three years, and I visit The Oaks every day. My observations are that the cleanliness is of a high standard. The staff are polite and show a high standard of care. The daily menu is always varied with the food being presented in a caring manner, especially as my
wife is unable to feed herself. Entertainment, which is available on most days is always appreciated. The building and grounds are kept in a good condition.

Staff were extremely helpful on arrival, we spoke with the duty manager who informed us of fee's and what is included at the care home. The manager then showed us around the facilities and a bedroom. The bedroom was fairly spacious and had a separate wash basin and toilet. The dining area was lovely,
very comfortable and clean. The lounge area was warm, clean and really well decorated. The staff were very polite and welcoming. All areas of the building were very clean and the outside space is adequate.

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2008

I have been a care home manager within Bupa for many years – working at care homes in Shockerwick, Chippenham and Cirencester. I joined the team at Trowbridge Oaks in January 2022.


Before I become a care home manager, I was deputy manager in one of our Bupa care homes for 2 years.
I qualified as a registered nurse in 2002. I trained and worked in Salisbury Hospital and then moved into the care home sector. I always wanted to work in a care home due to my experiences as a young child visiting the care home which my aunt and uncle owned. In my teenage years, I helped care for my grandmother which further confirmed that I wanted to become a nurse.
What I enjoy most about working in care services is being able to help others, whether that be residents, family members or my colleagues, and the satisfaction that this brings. No day is the same and I am grateful that I get to work in an environment that is person and family-centric.


I live locally to the care home – in Westbury.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my daughter and partner.


I have a passion for anything science fiction and I love visiting theme parks with my family.

I have been a registered nurse at Trowbridge Oaks for 20 years and was appointed as deputy manager in June 2022.


I have a hospital background, with years of experience as a registered nurse. I made the decision to move to the care sector and fell in love with it.


I enjoy the challenge and responsibility of providing the right level of care for our residents and I find the experience very rewarding.


I live locally to the care home – in Trowbridge. I love spending time with my family when I am not at work.

I have worked at Trowbridge Oaks for 21 years. Prior to this, I was a regional manager for John Lewis warehouses in London. I started a family and relocated to Wiltshire. I wanted a change of career and saw the vacancy at Trowbridge Oaks. I wanted to help people and thought the role would bring me more job satisfaction.


I love working with the residents, learning about their history and the lives that they have lived. Every resident has a different story and it is an honour to serve these people.


I live in Trowbridge. I have a lovely wife and two wonderful children. I like walking in the countryside and spending time with my family.

Suzanne Hale

Job Title: Head Chef

Joined: 2015

I joined Trowbridge Oaks in 2015 as a kitchen assistant and was promoted to head chef in August 2023.


I attended Clarendon School where I studied home economics as an option for my exams and have enjoyed cooking ever since. I owned a coffee shop for 2 years which I thoroughly enjoyed running. I loved getting to engage with my customers. I then became a manager in a canteen for around 2 years. After which I started at Trowbridge Oaks as a kitchen assistant and worked my way up.


What I enjoy the most about my job is that every day is different. The most enjoyable bit about working in care services is knowing that everything you do is helping others. It’s also an honour to work with people that are so kind and make you smile everyday and to know what you do is always appreciated.


I have 4 daughters and 6 grandchildren, who I enjoy spending time with. My hobbies outside of work are gardening and baking. My family and friends are constantly asking me to make cakes for birthdays and special occasions. I also enjoying watching game shows and cooking programmes.

Job Title: Financial Administrator

I have been working as a financial administrator in the care sector for the past 10 years, the last 3 years here at Trowbridge Oaks.


My first care home was local to the village where I live. Over the years, I have worked in 4 different care homes and have gained a lot of knowledge of the job role during this time.


I thoroughly enjoy interacting with our residents and their families. I also find it rewarding to support all our staff. My role is very varied, which I love, no two days are the same!


I spend a lot of my free time supporting my daughter in her chosen sport of Baton Twirling, even to the extent of setting up and running my own competition association! When I’m not tied to a sports hall, I enjoy spending quality time socialising with my family.

Before working with Bupa, I was working in the Health and Wellbeing sector through Dance and Holistic Massage. I have always been passionate about person-centred work and about helping people access a better quality of life. My Grandad was in a care home for the end of his life and seeing the team at his care home look after him inspired me to look for work in the care sector. The best part about the job is the people! I’m enjoying connecting with the residents, trying to understand what would bring them joy and fulfilment, as well as hearing about their lives. Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor

I have worked for Bupa since April 2022 but have been working in this new role as a housekeeping supervisor since June 2024.


I started as a care assistant at Trowbridge Oaks and I did this for around a year and a half then I decided I wanted to do a bit of housekeeping as well as care so I did a bit of both for a few months but then I made the decision to fully come off of care to go fully into housekeeping in March 2024, this is what lead me to my current role as a housekeeping supervisor.


I originally started my first ever job in a care home setting when I was 18, I started as a housekeeper in a care home but after a few months of working in the care home I found myself wanting to be on the care side more so that’s what started my journey as a carer off and I have worked in a few homes as a care assistant and even once in the community as a senior care assistant before I found my job at Trowbridge oaks.


The thing I enjoy most about working in the care home is spending time with all the residents and their families ensuring they have everything they need and helping to create a nice, homely environment.


I live locally to Trowbridge in Westbury with my partner and our dog. Outside of work, I have a passion for nails, so I also do nails for people from my little salon in my house and have been qualified in nail treatments since June 2023.
