The Wingfield Care Home, located close to the local community, is just a stone's throw away from the River Biss in the outskirts of the historic market town of Trowbridge.

The highly trained and qualified staff support all individuals with each and every element of their care plans to ensure all needs are met. The teams pride themselves in caring for their residents using individually tailored care plans, working closely with health care professionals.

All staff are so compassionate and caring, providing for all of Dad's needs. Nothing is too much trouble, regular updates given and staff are cheerful and service is given with a smile, thank you all.

My mother has been a resident at Wingfield Care Home since July 2023. She has received excellent care from all staff. The food choices are varied and look appetising. Always plenty to eat and drink. I feel content knowing Mum is in a safe environment and well looked after which puts my mind at rest.
She is offered to join in with a wide variety of activities. Thank you to everyone who is involved in Mum's care.

After visiting, I always feel so grateful for the kind, patient staff who look after Mum. I can see that they genuinely care about her, even when she is not compliant. I have also seen the lengths they go to in order to ensure Mum eats and drinks when she is too busy to do so. Having helped Mum eat
meals, it is clear that she enjoys the food - I think it is of a high standard.
On the very rare occasion that I have needed to raise an issue, it has always been dealt with in good time and taken seriously. It is difficult to comment on the management of the care home as there have been many changes. A long-settled period is needed.

Mum is happy and well looked after. She enjoys the food provided on his regained her normal weight. Mum and her room always look clean and tidy. There are lots of activities provided.

Resident is always happy and appears content in her new home. It's difficult to judge given her dementia but everything suggests she's well cared for, and is comfortable in her surroundings. We are also made to feel welcome when visiting. The only negative is the high cost of receiving such care.

The experience I have had with the care home has been extremely good. The staff have been extremely excellent. My wife has resided at Barchester Wingfield Care Home for over six years and she has always been well looked after. So no complaints at all.

Visited the care home and it was lovely to see the residents enjoying BBQ. The staff seemed to be happy and caring. The home appeared clean and the atmosphere was really positive. The food was really lovely and delicious!

Arrival on 22/06/2023, room not the one shown on pre-visit, far too small, no bumper pads on bed, no commode and no raised toilet seat. Groundfloor window, the houses next door could see in. After protest, the resident moved on 23/06 to a much better room upstairs. The resident was distressed the first
night and the first morning as hip wound was bleeding. Reassurance and support eventually. Service and care were satisfactory afterwards. Breakfast (served in room) often rather later. The resident did not join in any activities. I did not experience any food.

Upon my arrival, I was greeted by happy and smiling receptionists and two Llamas. We were shown to Dad's room which was lovely, nice open aspect and airy. For the short time he was here, the staff (without exception) were (A+) I felt relaxed and at ease with the care home and all its staff. What more

A wonderful care home where the staff are very friendly. Clean and safe environment. The staff are very attentive and caring, they treat their residents with respect. Food is of a high standard.

Mum has been exceptionally well cared for by the entire team in the three years she has been a resident. End-of-life care was exceptional. Both Mum and family were well looked after.

My mother moved into Wingfield Care Home for respite care in December 2022 for 2 weeks. During this time we extended her stay for a further 2 weeks, unfortunately, she passed away during her time at Wingfield she was so well looked after and cared for. We would like to thank all the staff who made her
final days safe, secure and comfortable.

My father has been at Barchester Wingfield Care Home, upstairs in 'Memory Lane' for over four years.
I can honestly say this is the best place I could wish him to be.
The care staff and nurses are truly fantastic, his room is really comfortable and the food is like a top hotel.
There are plenty
of activities laid on for him to do or he can simply rest in comfort.
The office staff and management are always happy to assist.
If you want your loved one to be surrounded by professional, caring and truly good people then choose this care home.
There is even a Doctors practice right next door on hand.
I highly recommend Wingfield Care Home in Trowbridge.

I needed emergency respite for my mum as my dad had to go to hospital following a 999 call. I phone 12-15 homes, and Wingfield was the only home able (and willing) to take Mum the same day. They took her after carrying out a phone assessment, and the whole process was as smooth as it could be in the
circumstances. For this, I am extremely grateful. In the two weeks, she was there, Mum was looked after very well by caring staff in a nice environment.

I've been a registered nurse since 2012, completing my nurse training in Kerala, India. I have extensive experience within the care home setting and strive to continually improve the quality of service we provide, with a particular focus on person-centred care.


I'm so proud to be the General Manager here and see Wingfield as being a home that can support every stage of later life and who are in the unique position of having two separate homes.

I have worked as a nurse in all the communities here, I was promoted to the Head of our Memory Lane Community and now I am enjoying my role as Head of Community in our separate building The Lodge.
