Church View is situated on the outskirts of Stratton and is easily accessible by public transport. The purpose-built home is beautifully decorated to create a warm and homely environment for the residents, whilst providing the best care possible.

The home welcomes relatives at any time and they are encouraged to take part in all the activities that take place in the home.

Church View has a highly trained staff team to support residents in all aspects of their daily living and offer a range of activities to suit most tastes.

All meals are freshly prepared on-site by the chefs and residents can choose from the menu daily, or an alternative should they wish. Drinks and snacks are widely available throughout the day and night.

The home has gardens which includes a summer house. There is an on-site cafe open for residents and visitors daily.

I have been here for over two years. Good access to family via iPad. One half of my family remains distant. Most of the home is more than adequate for my needs.

The carers were very good but unfortunately, communication was poor even though the home were told that I and my sisters have LPA for Health for our mum. I had a few occasions when I needed to speak to a nurse and to be honest I found one of them rather rude. Mum enjoyed the activity sessions and we
were pleased that these were taking place as mum is very unsure of herself and introvert so mixing with other residents was a big step forward for her. Sadly the same can't be said for her mobility. We did stress when she was brought in that we wanted walking to be encouraged. Also since being in the home she has suffered from extreme diarrhoea which no one seemed to be worried about. Mum has had problems with this for a while but nowhere near the state she is in now. We did speak to a nurse about our concerns and were told she'd have a sample done but we heard nothing more. At our request mum was given a certain diarrhoea medication, but only one a day which did nothing as she should have had one after every bout.

The care home provider cares for my dad. The staff is very helpful and caring. The staff do an excellent job and their caring skills are excellent. The care home staff support the residents.

Diagnosed in September 2019 with a terminal illness and given 2 weeks to live, we chose Church View Nursing Home for my Mum's palliative care, because the Manager met us after she should have gone home (a sign of caring), and for the homely atmosphere. All of the staff we met that evening were cheerful
as were the residents we met. Mum moved in on October 10th 2019 very hesitant and very much trusting in my judgement. She was so well cared for, loved, spoilt and had so much fun she said she wished she had moved in years ago. The standard of nursing, the carers, housekeeping, maintenance and kitchen staff including the wonderful Manager all contributed to my precious Mum having, she said "one of the best Christmases ever". She also achieved her 95th birthday and again was so spoilt. In her last 7 days, I stayed day and night with her and the care I too received was outstanding. Mum and I laid down 4 months of wonderful happy memories, making the parting easier. Thank you all always.

Dad is doing very well and is being looked after very well and I know he is quite happy in these very difficult times. It gives us a comfortable peace of mind to know he is looked after especially when we ourselves are struggling.

My aunt has been at Church View for over three years. She is happy despite being unable to leave her room. Staff are always friendly and willing to give her whatever she needs. Communications from the home during lockdown have been clear and reassuring.

Both my parents were residents of Church View Care Home for just over 3 years. During their time there they were both looked after in a way that was caring and attentive. The staff were always thoughtful and caring to the residents family. Issues that arose during their stay were always addressed and
resolved in a professional and acceptable manner. I would have no hesitation in recommending Church view Care Home.

In almost seven years of residence, the overall experience of Mother's care has been positive.
Frequent staff changes in the past have been disconcerting, however, lately a more settled staffing and number of staff provide a more positive atmosphere. As a visitor only, I would comment that the meals
appear a little unimaginative.

My parents entered Church View nursing home 3 years ago. They have been really happy there, always cared for by caring happy staff who helped make Church view their home. Unfortunately both my parents passed away in March and April of this year. Myself and my family cannot thank all the management,
nursing staff, carers, domestic and activity coordinators for treating my parents with outstanding care, kindness and dignity. I believe they received the best care possible. Thank you Church View for treating my parents as though they were your own.

Dad was placed in Church View for end of life care on the 17th April. We were very anxious about Dad going into a nursing home, but during the 2 weeks he was there Dad was treated with the utmost kindness and respect and his dignity was retained at all times. No one could have done more to have made
his short stay any better. As a family, we were kept informed of how Dad was at all times, both on the phone and in person. The facilities were clean and tidy and Dad had a lovely, light, airy room overlooking the garden. Additionally, staff took a genuine interest in Dad as an individual with his likes and dislikes being taken into consideration. Dad could not have been placed in a more caring and safe environment and we would have no hesitation in recommending Church View to anyone in a similar situation requiring nursing care. We cannot thank them enough.

A good standard care home with pleasant staff, especially those who have English as a second language. The recent improvement in activities is very welcome and the staff involved have made some great new ideas.
The increase in fees is unwelcome and charge for small items family meals is disappointing
considering what we already pay.

My dad has been in the unfortunate position to need full nursing care for the past 16 months, after leaving hospital. Once the care team have got familiar with my dad, the care and support he has received from all the staff cannot be faulted and his medical/personal needs are met to a very high standard.
My
only concern is the continual staff changes, which unfortunately can't be avoided.
