Rated Outstanding by the CQC (January 2021), Downs View care centre in Bradbury caters for elderly residents with varying stages of dementia.

The home enjoys stunning views over the Downs and has 51 individual bedrooms. 43 are en-suite.

There is also a suite for couples and guests for privacy. The home has two large lounges and a sun lounge for relaxation.

Downs View has recently had the benefit of a dementia-specific designed, large accessible sensory garden with safe, soft walkways and accessible flower beds with seating areas.

Fresh meals are prepared daily by the chef using local suppliers. Residents can choose their meal based on personal or dietary requirements.

I struggled with my father going into care home, for many reasons. The Manager and staff have been absolutely amazing, not only with the support they have given my father but myself and my family. They are so friendly and approachable, always answering my questions and if they can't they come back to
me asap. They always give me a update on my father, I'm well informed with his health and medication. My father's room is always clean and tidy. I love the personal touches from activities to celebrations, going the extra mile to provide my father with his favourite drinks, or making sure he's watching his favourite programme. The garden and outside area are well kept and a lovely area to spend quality time with my father. The most important thing for me is that I'm happy knowing my father is well looked after, and I can visit when ever we please. Friends have also commented how well my father is cared for and how welcoming all the staff are.

We visit the resident weekly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The care home is clean and tidy. When we have attended the various social activities and functions we have always found they are well organised, and the food and drink is good. The security is good.

Very pleased with the running of the care home. Food is excellent if not too much for mum. Staff running activities are amazing and fun for most residents. Very happy with everything they do here.

The care that my friend receives is remarkable at Downs View. The staff are attentive and you can see the care they have for the residents. The overall calm and peaceful environment really helps create a warm place to live. I would highly recommend Downs View to potential residents.

My wife is being looked after in the most caring and empathetic way that I thought only I could provide. The staff always respond to a request for help and everyone knows her requirements. It is reassuring to know that my wife is safe and comfortable, even more so with the feedback I receive on her
condition.

My sister has been in Downs View since February 2024. She settled quickly, has a lovely room overlooking the gardens, and has all her personal items around her. The staff are caring and do their very best to support her. After a spell in hospital equipment and support from other agencies were put in
place to aid her recovery. Nothing is too much trouble. Downs View is in a lovely spot overlooking the downs. We are all very happy with the move and the fact that my sister is happy.

My mother went into Downs View in April. The management and carers welcomed Mum showing kindness, patience and treating Mum with dignity. There is always someone to talk to if you have any concerns. Nothing is ever too much trouble. I am so pleased we chose Downs View for Mum, as other family and friends
who have relatives in other care homes have not had such a positive experience. I can not thank the management and carers enough for everything they're doing for Mum.

My mother-in-law has been in Downs View since April 2024 and we have found her care to be exemplary. From her general care to controlling her paid relief via medication nothing appears to be too much trouble. She enjoys her meals and I cannot fault anything.

it is always a joy to visit the home. All staff so welcoming and cheery. Today we all joined in with the activity which I hope encouraged some more of the clients. Downs View Care Home is clean, caring and friendly. Residents are well looked after and have their needs met in a timely and empathetic manner. They organise a range of events for residents and families such as a cheese and wine night, singers and summer parties which are enjoyed by all!

Down View's staff consistently provide high-quality and personalised support to the residents. There is a real patient-centred approach, always giving them the best possible care and attention. The team have a real understanding of the individuals in their care on a personal level, as well as getting
to know their family and close ones who visit. The Activities Coordinator is fantastic at arranging a range of engaging and exciting activities for the residents, including exercise, beauty, crafts, gardening and baking. The home is always clean and tidy, and the resident's appearance and hygiene are valued heavily also. The food is varied and fresh, with residents offered a choice. There isn't anywhere else we would consider for our Grandma!

Visiting a friend's relative for them - the welcome staff were lovely, friendly and polite. The home was clean, tidy, and smelt lovely. The manager of the home spoke and chatted as we walked into the area as new to this home. Great to see such a variety of activities, in which we enjoyed and participated
and the food was wonderful. A first-class experience. Nice to see loved ones getting the care they deserve.

Mum has been in the care home since November 2023. We did try and trial mum back at home again with carers visiting 4 times daily. Unfortunately, it was assessed that mum needed 24-hour round-the-clock care. The Manager was very supportive and had mum back to her placement. The care home is much better
for her as she has social activities and friends. They let you visit when you like and it's a very warm and welcoming place. I feel so reassured that my mum is in a better place. They look after her well and she is eating well. They get hair done, nails done, feed well and have a whole array of happy cheerful staff who look after the residents so well. My mum is by no means an easy character she can be at times very awkward but they manage that well and get her to do all the things that she can't do without help.

My father became a resident at Downs View at the end of November due to concerns with his Alzheimer’s and several falls within the home. The home is nice and bright and very spacious. The day he arrived I cannot praise the staff enough they were so supportive and extremely helpful in trying to make
my Dad feel comfortable to adjust to his new surroundings. We are so pleased that our Dad has settled in so well. I would like to thank all the staff for their excellent care and it is always done with a smile on their face, nothing is too much for them. The food is excellent, especially as our Dad was not eating properly at home and now he has put on weight he enjoys it now. The event's organizer is amazing too always keeps them well entertained and interacts with the residents well. My Dad enjoys the games they play. I visit the home 1-2 times a week the care staff are so friendly and make you feel so welcome.

My father has been in Downs View since the 20th January 2024 due to advanced dementia.
We have found the staff to be extremely helpful, very kind and considerate and it shows when you visit, not just with Dad but with all of the residents. Everyone is well taken care of and they look content and clean.
Obviously,
this has been a massive change for Dad and us, and I would like to say a big thank you to the staff for putting us at ease on the telephone and when we visit. We get regular updates about Dad and how he’s doing. The staff are very accommodating and they put a lot into the events that take place and pay attention to ‘National days.' There always seems to be lots going on.
The home itself is lovely and clean, wonderful gardens, well kept. The overall location is lovely.

The home is set in beautiful surroundings. All the staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you on your visit. Feel very welcome as soon as you enter the door. Home decor is tastefully decorated throughout from my friend's room to the dining/living area and feels like home. Gardens are well
laid out with walking areas and subtle lighting with plants and flowers. Food looks amazing and always smells so good. Feel very relaxed visiting and such friendly staff.
