My friend is a resident in this care home. I visited today for the Christmas party and I have to say the staff and relatives/friends of the inmates were all happy to see their loved ones so well cared for. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone needing 24/7 care. The home
is spotlessly clean and the rooms are homely and spacious.

As a family we were shocked to find our mother (who was looking after herself until Dec 2015) had a fall and since then has been unable to walk or communicate with anyone. After 8 weeks in hospital and 8 weeks in respite, we found Newday Nursing Home which is local to us. We were extremely concerned
to have to have someone else look after our mother but due to the physical problems we are unable to do so ourselves. Finding the right environment for her was difficult.
Mum settled very well into Newday Nursing Home and loves the staff and has been with them since April 2016. There are obviously teething problems but any problem can soon be sorted by talking to the staff. The staff get more smiles and more cheeky comments from her than we do. The home is extremely clean, the staff friendly and the home cooked food is very good. Overall, we can relax in the knowledge that mum is cleaned, cared for and happy where she is. Thank you all at Newday.

My father, in the late stages of vascular dementia, moved into Newday after a long stay in hospital following many falls. The early days were difficult, as dad fell many times looking for my mother and one to one care had not been offered by social services. Although dad has always been a very gentle
man, because of the dementia he now suffers with occasional aggression, usually when tired or needing the toilet, not being able to communicate his needs to the care staff. Every dementia patient is different and after working together as a team, with patience, care, understanding and communication from both family and staff, the care home took the time to figure out the best way to settle my father into a routine that suited both. After a difficult first month, dad is now settling very well, the staff are friendly, caring and attentive. The cleanliness of the home is pristine. Communication is something very important as I live a fair distance away, updates from the staff are frequent.

Job Title: Registered Home Manager

Hi. My name is Anna Whitehouse


I have been a Registered General Nurse for over 20 years. I have a BSc Hons in Health Studies, NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management and Mentorship in Nursing Practice. I have also completed Lead to Succeed and Rise programme with My Home Life England. After having worked in the NHS in various settings, I started work in the Care Sector in 2012.


At New Day, we have a wonderful team of staff, and I am a firm believer that when you have a happy staff team, the positivity spreads to everyone. We receive lots of positive feedback about how caring and friendly the staff are and that the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We focus on getting to know your loved ones to ensure we deliver person-centred care with family and friends’ involvement. Regular consultations with the residents with care planning are essential to ensuring high standards of care and making our residents’ stay here as close to home-to- home as possible. It is always so lovely to hear the laughter in the corridors when staff and the people that we support are interacting with one another. There is strong ethos here to treat people how you would like to be treated yourself, encouraging independence, individual choice and preferences.
