Heartlands Nursing and Care Home, in the Yardley area of Birmingham, is a well-respected nursing and care home specialising in care for people with all forms of dementia, Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. The nursing and care team have years of experience in delivering high standards of care and support. Heartlands has good wheelchair access, enclosed outdoor spaces and good relationships with local GPs and other health professionals.

Heartlands Care Home is spread over three floors and registered to provide personalised, family-led care in a luxury yet homely environment, but at an affordable cost to the local community of Birmingham. The home boasts 66 en-suite bedrooms, a family room, relaxation spa, private dining room, café/bistro, cinema room and a garden room.

Residents enjoy a wide range of activities and events, led by the well-being and activities team who get to know each resident individually and support them to continue to enjoy their hobbies and interests.

Having to place my dad in residential care following a long stay in hospital, was a daunting prospect. With help and assistance we were introduced to Heartlands.
Although, out of the areas choice, my dad was lucky enough to get a placement here.
I have seen and been to many care homes, but none
come near to Heartlands care provision staff team and general ambience of the environment. It is top class and is a place I would live in. You have to see it to believe it. Thank you so much.

My father-in-law as been in Heartlands Nursing Home for a good few months, he is well cared for and the staff are very caring and reassuring, previous to this time his wife was in there only very short time but same again. Very good care by carer's and senior care to even housekeepers to everyone. Even
gone above and beyond video calling his son in Australia for him to talk to. This home is excellent.

Heartlands Care Home was our family's 1st experience of care homes and was recommended by a friend whose mom had been there, my father in law was in there for a short time before he passed and I honestly can't praise the staff enough, he said every day how lovely everyone was, one nurse referred to
him as "Dad" they loved listening to his life stories and as an ex-police officer in Birmingham he had a few, he loved the ladies and they loved him and we will be forever grateful they made sure he had as good end of life as possible.
We put our uncle into the care home as well due to his deteriorating health at the age of 94, our previous experience with the home told us it was the right place for him to end his days, he was blind and living alone up to this point, and had starting falling at home, he couldn't see but could hear and his mind was perfectly sharp, he told us on day 2 he felt better enough to know he'd done the right thing, which is all we could've asked for, sadly our uncle passed away shortly after his 95th birthday, we are just sad he didn't ask to be moved sooner so he could've enjoyed Heartlands care home for longer.

Our mother became a resident at Heartlands when her vascular dementia reached the stage where she was unable to live independently.
We found Heartlands to be caring, friendly and with first-class facilities. All residents are made to feel special, important and involved. When the time sadly came for
end-of-life care, care staff kept up fully informed and cared for Mum with invaluable kindness and sensitivity, ensuring her comfort and dignity at all times.

The standard of care is good, and staff is friendly. Manager listens to any concerns and tries to rectify them. I would recommend Heartlands, it is a good friendly and caring home. Good parking facilities.

The sink in the en-suite shower room blocked up for well over a month and is still not fixed! Not allowed small fridge in room, so food and fruit often goes off and gets mouldy. Clothes go missing when given in for washing, so have to hand wash in the room. No translators are available to communicate
with staff. Personal belongings go missing from the room. Do not cater for food I would like to eat.

I have always been happy with the care given in the home and all staff that have worked there and with my mother, from her time going into the care home in 2018. I was also very satisfied and grateful with the teams involved with my mother when the tragic death of my husband in 2022, which made visits
to see her more difficult. They all made sure Mom was OK and had personal items she needed due to me not being able to go.

We cannot thank the staff enough at Heartlands Care & Nursing Home for the care and compassion they showed my mom. Once Mom settled in the home, she was more relaxed and made some friends. Nothing was too much for the staff when it came to looking after Mom. Getting Mom into the home was made easy by

After my uncle being in hospital for over 7 months both my aunt and I were extremely stressed out and putting my uncle in a home was the last thing my aunt wanted. After being told my uncle wouldn't be able to go home we were recommended Heartlands Care and were blown away when we went to visit it,
right from the first phone call the staff couldn't do enough for us all. My uncle is so well looked after and the staff always listen to our wishes as they know we know my uncle better than anyone. They have always got time to chat to him and us as family making us feel welcome. The rooms are beautiful and the food alike - proper home cooked just as my aunt would cook in her words! We now know we have done the right thing in moving him here he's always singing and dancing and although he has his off days which come with dementia - overall he is extremely happy.

My father was brought into Heartlands Care as end of life. The care he received was amazing. The staff go above and beyond with him but also with us as a family. We had some rough days but there was always someone for a cuddle and a chat. I would recommend your beautiful home. It has so many lovely

My mum has been in the home since September 23. The staff are welcoming and lovely to deal with. Mum's room is spacious with ensuite. The food is good and served on time. The nurses and managers are professional and caring. All of the staff are nice to deal with from the receptionist to the cleaners
and hospitality. The place is kept spotless, and my friend after visiting Mum, said it was like a hotel. I would highly recommend Heartlands to anyone seeking a care/nursing facility for a relative or friend.

Heartlands Care & Nursing Home is amazing! From the moment I entered the building, the reception staff were welcoming, smiling, knowledgeable, and friendly. My partner and I were shown around all 3 floors and told about what each floor cared for, as we were looking for somewhere for my Mother-in-law.
The facilities they have for the residents, regardless of whether they are able-bodied or bed-bound are brilliant. They have arts/crafts, singers, and bingo. The ladies can also have their nails/hair done. The men can have their hair cut and a shave. They feed their clients like kings/queens. As for the staff, what can I say, from the receptionist, carers, cleaners, cooks, handymen, manager, and the client liaison manager, all the staff is an awesome, amazing, wonderful, friendly team. They love their clients as if they were their own family. I would recommend this Home to anyone who is looking for a long-term home for a loved one. I can guarantee they will be loved and taken care of 24/7.

I am Activities & Well-being Coordinator at Heartlands so together with my colleague we complete two group activities per day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. In between these times I spend time with residents one on one, we have quite a few residents that are unable to take part in group activities so I like to ensure they are not isolated and feel part of our family. I plan future events and activities and I work closely with our CRM to go through ideas. Because I have a background in care I also assist with self-care and mealtimes.
I love my job because I feel that I can contribute towards improving the quality of life for our residents, making them smile is so rewarding. Tracy lives locally, has 3 children and loves her job. The best part of the job is the ‘butterfly moments’, precious moments with residents. I like getting residents together and seeing how socialising can change the mood for residents making them feel more positive and upbeat.
I am also a Dignity Champion for Heartlands Care Home and a Dementia Friend.
I am working towards my Diploma in Care which I will complete in July 2019.
