I had a window visit to see my mom. This is the first time I've seen her properly since August and since she's been in Lyndon Hall. We were both made up. My mom who's 89 yrs said she felt great, the best she's felt in years, she looked so well, clean and smart. All the staff are so friendly and caring.
It's definitely given me reassurance and comfort knowing my mom is being looked after properly and is so happy. I can't thank Lyndon Hall enough and hope the visits can continue. All doing a great job at such a difficult time.

It is mom's birthday today (28 October) and we were thrilled to be able to wish mom a happy birthday via a window visit. Covid has been so detrimental to the families suffering dementia. Mom looks really well and is clearly well cared for. Can't wait for a hug!

My wife has been in Lyndon Hall Care Home since 23rd December 2019, she has dementia and was sectioned because she needed 24hour care.
We were very pleased when she was accepted into the home.
In the early days, we were able to visit and sit with her in the lounge but in March visiting was stopped
but we could do window visits. Then, unfortunately, the local council put a complete ban on the home due to the virus.
My wife receives very good care. We had been married 71 years on the 13th of August and after being together for 73 years I find it very hard.
I can't thank the staff enough for their care.

I rate the care home excellent. The staff are very pleasant and friendly. Today 17/1/20 I saw a panto with my sister and her son top marks for arranging an entertaining 2 hours show a lovely coffee morning. What more can I say but keep up the good work.

Staff are caring. If there are any problems we are told right away and solutions are discussed. I do think that more staff would be beneficial.

My mom moved into Lyndon Hall on 26th September. Mom has many problems but the staff have tried really hard to work with mom to sort problems out. Mom seems to be settling in now and that is due to the staff's hard work.

I find that my husband has had the best care he could have had. All but a bedsore on his heel which should have been found last year and is only just getting better. His care was brilliant, could not be better (on Rose). Now he's on Poppy, exceptional care. On the ball with care, I love being here every
day so I see things. How well the carers work and the nurses are very professional. Rooms clean and tidy.

All the carers do the very best they can, however, the unit my father is on (Bluebell) needs more carers. They have had 3 more people moved from another unit due to their failing health and it takes 2 carers to deal with personal care. If more than one resident needs help at the same time, they have
to wait which is not good enough.


Also, more residents need help feeding, which results in food going cold.

Thank you for your review. Currently, the staffing ratio is 1 to 4 without the nurse for the 16 residents currently on Bluebell Unit. We will continue to monitor this. We will also review the rota and revisit the skill mix within the Bluebell Unit so that we can ensure that the skill mix is sufficient to meet the needs of the Residents. We will also monitor and review the dining room experience to ensure that this is working effectively and the food is being kept warm in between each service. We are looking at having Dining Champions within the home, once they have received further training. The new Chef will also be part of the mealtime experience.

My remarks on poor staff could be misleading. The permanent care staff are excellent but the nature of the work demands agency staff and they are not as particular. If staff are rewarded for what they do and are paid accordingly then the industry would not have a recruiting problem. I have seen a big
difference in the care that my mother gets and in the past 12 months, this has reduced. There is never sufficient staff on duty.

Lyndon Hall is a reasonably modern building, clean and tidy. The staff were friendly, although I noted a lot of time was spent completing paperwork, rather than interacting with residents.
However, Dad's needs seemed to be met otherwise and we were happy with the personal care provided.
Perhaps more
activities could be arranged.

Communication needs improvement - eg to resident. Needs more activity for resident. When the weather is good the ones that are capable should be taken outside in the garden.

We are working on the communication with Residents, relatives and staff to ensure that everyone connected to Lyndon Hall, know what’s happening and what is planned for the future. Activities is a high priority, and I am personally working with the Activities Coordinator, to plan meaningful, positive activities for all Residents. I agree that when the weather is fine, we should have more outside activities and we are looking to build a herb garden for the Residents to manage and enjoy. We are having regular relatives meetings, to enable myself and my team ensure that communication between us and our Resident’s families is optimised.

My Dad has been at Lyndon Hall about 3 months, during that time I have seen things improve.
I am satisfied with Dad's care and getting to know the staff.
I do feel that permanent staff do a fantastic job but sometimes not given the support they deserve.
The food is getting better, but I would like
to see more fruit/salad on the tea trolley.
I feel things are getting better and look forward to the coming months.
Staff are always very friendly and welcoming.
