Situated in a peaceful suburb of Solihull, the purpose-built home offers homely yet modern and comfortable accommodation. All bedrooms are pleasantly decorated with direct access to the gardens

Food at Ardenlea Court consists of a varied nutritious menu. Cold alternatives and light bites are always available, as well as homemade cakes and mid-morning teas and coffees.

A varied programme of activities includes film mornings in the cinema room and ever popular Pets as Therapy dog visits. All activities are organised to suit residents’ abilities and interests. Ardenlea Court boasts its own authentic pub aptly named the Court Jester, where residents enjoy sitting down with a drink and socialising.

They hold weekly pub quizzes which are a favourite for many residents. With many residents having travelled the country by train during their childhood for holidays, they have built their own "Court Express", where they can, through the assistance of video, virtually travel anywhere in the world! And to complete the experience they also have the Station Café where residents can enjoy a drink and cake.

The majority of the staff were excellent, all of the staff were at least good. Getting in touch by telephone was difficult and out of hours answering the door was slow. A few care items could be improved; ensuring the call button is always within reach, the same for the TV remote. Prompt responses to
the call, to go to the toilet would be good. The food was good and the facilities nice too.

My father, aged 88 and alert, joined the home in September 2020 as he had Parkinson's. He had 4 or 5 weeks rehab first, and then decided to stay owing to the good care, excellent meals (he loves breakfast), the room with ensuite, and the modern facilities in a medium sized building. He has now been
there 5 months and is happy there in spite of no visits (due to covid travel restrictions etc). Daily visits to the lounge, daily activities (games, visit to the "Pub" etc), but the opportunity to stay in his room if he wishes, has kept him occupied. Carers are lovely and are always jolly and happy to talk on the phone when I ring. Carers work hard to look after him - GP visits once per week, and the home have organised visits from a therapist (to encourage walking) and dietician. No landlines in the rooms, so residents must use their own mobile, or a communal (phone) handset - sometimes I cannot get through or the phone is in use. (Financial) admin is good. Good, all-round care and he is happy!

Clean and comfortable rooms which are serviced by an enthusiastic and sensitive group of staff carers. Leisure activities are appropriate and varied, with residents encouraged to take part in activities on a regular basis. Food options are of a high quality with a wide choice at every meal. Communication
from the home is adequate.

I cannot rate the Ardenlea Court staff and patient care more highly. The staff consistently went above and beyond to look after Mum. They were compassionate, patient and accomodating, not just with Mum but also with us, her family. We will never forget their kindness, dedication and hard work. These
are people who care and they made all the difference in our remaining time with Mum. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Dad was admitted for end of life care in June 2020.
We made the decision that Mom would join him on a respite stay so they could be together for his final days and Mom was sat beside him when he passed away in August. The staff treated both Dad and Mom with compassion and kindness.
Mom has stayed
at the home as she settled well, enjoying the varied and stimulating sessions provided by the Activity Coordinators.
Activities such as baking, crafts, singing, bingo, games and exercise have been a real boost to Mom. Plus socialising in the pub!
The staff are very accommodating organising FaceTime, Skype and currently window visits.
Mom seems more cheerful than she’s been in a long while.
The staff I’ve had contact with from reception to carers and nurses are caring, cheerful and helpful in the really difficult circumstances during the pandemic.
The regular email updates from the new manager are also a great way of keeping families informed and are very much appreciated. Thank you.

The staff at Ardenlea Court looked after my mom for the last 3.5 years of her life. They were caring, kind, friendly and compassionate. They build strong relationships with their residents and go the extra mile. They should be very proud of what they do, providing care to those at the end of their lives.
They have an amazingly difficult job and undertake this with dignity and respect for those in their care. Thank you, team.

Outstanding care was provided to my aunt who was admitted for end of life care. We were told she wouldn’t last the week but with the care and support of the team she picked up and enjoyed a few months with loved ones.
Ardenlea Court was a home from home, not only did they care for my aunt but they
welcomed my uncle who found it difficult to cope with my aunt being in care. He spent each day at her side and the staff looked after him too offering support and refreshments.
The care and compassion showed by the team made it easier for us as a family knowing my aunt was getting the best care possible and nothing was ever too much trouble.
The support provided to us during the last days of my aunt's life was phenomenal and I would have no hesitation in recommending the manager and the team to others in the future. I will always be grateful.

Some very caring staff members but poor communication between teams and also with next of kin. Staff never consulted records in answer to my questions. Significant errors in admin system resulting in incorrect medical info being used for my mother - wrong allergy info, the wrong reason for admission,
wrong tel no. Fortunately, no harm was done but it could have been so different. Physios produced a good outcome - improved mobility but compromised privacy. Decisions from one team meeting reported to Mum in front of several residents. Poor care from a couple of carers - not treating my mother with dignity or respect and gossiping about her within earshot.

Mom received excellent care and support with immediate effect after arriving at Ardenlea Court. Mom's rehabilitation and return home was thanks to the excellent professional help from nurses, occupational therapist, geriatrician and management team.

Simple requests such as a cup of tea or visit to the toilet are ignored. Patients cry out for help but no one comes.
Care and food, etc. are not worth £1200 a week.
It's just appalling. Pills are not handed to patients sometimes as late as 12 am in the evening.

I cannot recommend this care home enough. They were caring and nothing was too much trouble. It was 100% excellent, thank you every single one of you all who looked after my mother in her final days.

Room was nice and comfortable and very clean. Staff were friendly and caring. Food was generally of a good standard. Overall my stay here was as pleasant as it could be under the circumstances.

I couldn't fault the care and support they give to anyone who comes to Ardenlea Court. The staff are dedicated and polite and always ready to help. They are always smiling and happy. The food is excellent up there with restaurant quality. I would recommend the place to anyone.

My hobbies outside work are playing guitar, painting and I also like to take part in voluntary work with children.

Previous to Bupa I worked as a nurse in a polish ophthalmological hospital.

I like my role as I can use my own personal strengths every day to help residents. I am creative and empathetic which enables me to plan fun and engaging activities which enhance the lives of our residents. I leave work each day and feel that I’ve had a positive impact on at least a few residents that day. This and the lovely feedback we get from residents and relatives makes my job so rewarding.


I like Ardenlea Court in particular as Nirmal is a brilliantly supportive and fun colleague, and all team members help to support activities where needed. This creates a great working atmosphere in the home.


Outside of work, I am a huge football fan, and supporter of Liverpool FC, so watching football is my favourite hobby. I am also a big animal lover, I love cats and dogs equally but hope to adopt a rescue dog with my husband in the near future.

I enjoy working at Ardenlea Court and have been working for Bupa for the last 12 years. Previously I worked as a Kitchen Assistant.
