The Priory understands the importance of creating a relaxing environment for its residents. The home welcomes those who require residential, nursing, palliative, convalescence and respite care and creates a unique care plan for each resident upon arrival.

Situated in the pleasant area of Monkspath, the home has been specifically designed to meet the needs of older people. The Priory is surrounded by large enclosed gardens and benefits from a close location to local amenities and bus routes, while a GP surgery is just a short distance away. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, a flat-screen TV and a 24-hour call system.

Nutritionally balanced meals are prepared using fresh ingredients and a wide range of dishes are available to choose from. Residents' birthdays are celebrated as are all traditional holidays ranging from Pancake Day to Christmas.

A dedicated activities room allows residents to pursue their own hobbies and share interests and a mobile library visits regularly.

The residential part of the home is bright and airy with a well laid out dining room that is very inviting. The 1940's room is a lovely addition which we appreciated on various occasions.
The activity room is separate from the lounge, allowing for choice to residents who may not wish to leave the lounge.
The
carers are, in the main, dedicated and compassionate. Mum loved most (but not all) of them and they were very friendly to family and visitors.
However, by the very nature of the establishment, there will always be emergencies or demands from multiple residents. This is not reflected in the staffing levels. For example, residents can be left longer than is ideal waiting for toilet assistance, especially if two carers are required for hoisting, this, therefore, compromises their dignity. The carers are very stretched in order to be available to varying needs of residents/patients. More staff are needed at mealtimes in the evening and at night times. The environment of the home is excellent, even a little hairdressing salon. More staff on the frontline would make it outstanding.

10 days post-operative respite care provided a valuable link between hospital care and managing at home.

My mother died at The Priory Care Home on 7th January 2019 at the age of 104 1 month and 1 day having been a resident for almost three years. It is difficult to find words that adequately express how grateful I am to all the wonderful staff who not only cared for her but also for us her daughters especially
during her final days. How fortunate we were to find such a lovely care home for her. Thank you all.

The quality of care offered to Mum has been exemplary. The staff always go that extra mile for mum. I always receive a cheerful welcome when I visit from the staff. We could not have wished for better care of Mom in her final weeks of life. The whole staff were so caring and sympathetic not only to Mom but also to us, her family and friends. The facilities were excellent. Always a cup of tea and biscuits offered to us on arrival. I have marked N/A to three boxes
as these simply did not apply due to Mom's circumstances.

My experience as a resident at The Priory has been very positive, including a warm welcome, an attractive, well-appointed en-suite room, always warm with good views. Good, well-cooked meals with choices from the menus, a sheet showing the activities chosen for each day, caring staff to assist when whenever
needed, especially with early morning showers. Freedom for family and friends to visit at any time. A general attitude of caring.

My parents moved into The Priory together in April 2014. My mother passed away in 2015 and my father in February 2018. The care they received was excellent, the staff were efficient, friendly and fun. Their end of life care could not be faulted and the support given to the family made a distressing
time more bearable.

For the amount of money my mother pays per week in the nursing section, there are many times when they are short staffed and my mother has to wait long periods of time for a staff member to see to her needs e.g toilet.
So she is "not" getting what she paid for.

My mum has now been at The Priory Care Home in Solihull for 2.5 years and during this time she has always been treated with the utmost care and respect from all the staff. There is always a happy and homely feel which is of particular importance to Mum. There is a good range of activities, interesting
progressive exercise classes, bingo, arts and crafts and I know Mum really enjoys the singer and visits from the local nursery children. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Priory Care Home.

My experience has been very good, the staff are particularly thoughtful and caring.
My mother has to have liquidised food, unfortunately, she doesn't like mashed potato so this causes a problem.

My mother was in residence for 22 months until she passed away. She enjoyed her stay in a friendly and caring environment. The staff were attentive to both residents and visitors. Her end of life care was exemplary.

My friend went to The Priory in 2014 to recover from a time in hospital with a damaged hip. She and her family decided she should stay permanently. Her mobility improved, she took part in activities has her meals in the dining room and was able to go out and about, much of this due to the excellent
care she received and regular nutritious meals. Her health, mobility and mental conditions deteriorated and she is now confined initially to her room and now to her bed. All this time the staff have been caring and attentive, coping with her moods and occasional bad language with good humour and patience. Staff retention is good which is comforting for residents and families. The home is welcoming, warm, clean and tidy and the food appears varied and appetising. I would have no problem recommending The Priory for either short or long-term care.

I have visited The Priory Care Home for six years during which time I have felt a strong sense of responsibility for a vulnerable lady.
I was impressed at the standard of care when choosing this care home and I have not changed my opinion. The residents are offered a varied daily activity programme.

It was my first experience of a care home, I was there for respite. My room was lovely and sunny, the food was excellent.
The staff were very nice and came when I needed help. I only joined in with one activity as I was only there just under a week, but it was very enjoyable.

Overall we are pleased with the priory care home. My only complaint is parking marked for visitors only, is constantly taken up by staff owned cars. We, therefore, have to park on the street which is awkward for my disabled wife.

I qualified as a nurse in 2013 and specialised in cardiology and high dependency care. I joined Bupa in 2021 and I am extremely passionate about providing gold standard care for the residents we care for. I have a huge interest in diversity and inclusion and staff wellbeing. I attend regular D&I sessions to ensure I am up to date with my knowledge. I take a holistic and methodical approach to my role which drives me to provide person centred, excellent care. I have started to build a strong relationship with the local community and its residents to broaden the range of activities for our residents, enabling them to fulfil their own individual interests; and therefore enhancing quality of life.

We are all like a large family here at The Priory. My passion is leading the team to perform exceptionally in infection control procedures as I am the infection control champion for the home. I am also an engagement champion which involves me linking with other local homes to share best practice ideas and cascade to the team here. I thoroughly enjoy my role and look forward to many years to come. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to Reggae and I love a nice cold rum and coke.

I first started at The Priory as a Care Assistant. In 2019 I stepped into the role of activity co-ordinator. I love my role and providing a variety of stimulating activities for the residents. We particularly love doing themed days such as beach days, bastille day and various charity events involving the community. In my spare time I love holidays and dancing as I am part of a local dance organisation.
