It has been a difficult few years for all care homes managing with Covid and ensuring we continue to provide outstanding care. Staff have shown huge dedication in keeping the people we care for safe and ensuring they keep life as lively and interesting as possible. We're delighted that you find the level of care provided by our staff excellent. We try to limit our use of agency staff and to train them when we use them. We recognise that the cost of care is high, and so we engage in fundraising to enable us to keep our fees below the cost of the care we provide. If you would like to discuss any points with our Home Manager, then he would be delighted to speak with you.

Mum is extremely happy at Royal Star & Garter, she feels her every need is met. The staff are kind, caring considerate,
I am in regular communication with the staff, who are very responsive and courteous. As a result, I feel part of the Royal Star & Garter family too.
It is a massive relief and joy to her family that she is so well cared for and happy.

I qualified as an adult nurse in 2013 and specialised in Cardiology and High Dependency care at Solihull Hospital. I then went on to manage a local care home for three years before I had the pleasure of joining Star & Garter – Solihull, in June 2024.
I am extremely passionate about leading the team to provide gold-standard care for our residents, enabling them to provide person-centred, individualised care. I have a special interest in diversity and inclusion and keep up to date with the most recent research to support both the residents and staff. I have an excellent relationship with the local community, including adult health and social care, churches and schools to widen the access to and delivery of multiple well-being activities for the Home.
