This purpose-built modern home provides relaxing social areas and large landscaped gardens. Bedrooms are fitted with a TV, telephone point and 24-hour call system. Rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and a laundry service is available. Residents are able to personalise rooms with furniture and other personal items.

Fresh homemade food is served every day, and residents can enjoy healthy snacks, homemade biscuits and cake, tea and coffee, smoothies and juices throughout the day.

Do not send your loved ones here!
A loved one was kicked out of this care home this morning after suffering a fall at the home. When he was discharged from the hospital the deputy refused to let him stay and called the police! This man is on end-of-life care for brain cancer!
I am very surprised at
the reviews on this website, as the reviews on another review platform are very poor, with other families suffering at the hands and decisions of this care home!
May God have mercy on the deputy that made this decision. Karma is real.

As a family, we were very pleased with the home.
Mum was initially moved into the home for recovery following a short spell in hospital, the care she received was first class so much so that we have now decided (along with mum's input) to move her into the home on a permanent basis.

Mom moved into Anville Court from sheltered housing around a month ago, and the improvement in her health is marked. She looks so much better, but the biggest improvement is with her legs - for almost 2 years she’s struggled with swollen legs (Lymphodema) and had sores related to this. Within 2 weeks
of moving into Anville Court, her legs are now a normal size, she has no sores and doesn’t need dressings anymore. The home is run to a very nice standard and Mom has a choice of food from a varied menu that changes daily. The activities manager is lovely and has made such a difference in helping Mom adjust. Have to specifically praise the nurses who are excellent and the manager who has been readily available to chat with our family and make sure Mom is happy and that her care is tailored for her. It’s such a relief to know Mom is getting such good care 24/7.

Due to issues with previous care for my Mom I had great concerns when she was moved again. The manager and the great team at Anville Court Care Home have done everything they could to allay our fears. This has been done through the great care they have given my Mom and the fact my Mom seems so much

Mom had a pleasant room that was kept tidy and cleaned daily. Most of the staff were very friendly and respectful. They answered and dealt with any queries we had. The management were very approachable and dealt with any concerns we had immediately and kept us informed. Mom was a resident for five years,
so a long time. During the last two days of Mom's life, the staff were so respectful and many came to say a final goodbye to Mom. We also, as a family, were so well looked after day and night.

When I went to visit the manager and staff were lovely. I settled my husband in on the Tuesday and as I left one of the nurses said 'don't forget we're here for you, too'. Well, this may have been so for about four and a half days. My husband passed away suddenly at around 4 am the following Sunday.
I felt the night staff had done all they possibly could for him.
The following day myself and a friend collected his belongings. We were met by a rather surly receptionist and apart from the perfunctory 'sorry for your loss' from one of the nurses no one else came to speak to us. Myself and my friend both found this strange. Was the manager or someone senior not there, or busy?
It was five days later when the manager finally rang me and only because I'd phoned the day before enquiring about my husband's on loan wheelchair.
It just shows empathy and compassion go out of the window when someone is not making money for you. An acknowledgement in those first few days would have meant a lot to me.

I rang when I was back and I apologise for not being in touch sooner. I apologise for your experience of thinking that I couldn't be bothered. I know that the staff on shift had offered condolences at your sad loss.
I assure you that empathy and compassion are not part of money being made. The human side of care is always keenly felt by anyone who works in this challenging sector. I acknowledged your sad loss at the soonest time I was able. I know the staff in the building offered their condolences at the time.

As a resident, I have first-hand experience of Anville's qualities. The homely feel you seem to be caught up in, like being in a room full of family and friends, everyone being comforted and prepared for their day, yet no hustle and bustle. A relaxed feel, the way you like to do things, the things you
like to do, it's all kept as you would like making it a happy and relaxed atmosphere. Everything is taken care of from your aspirin to your eyes, there is really no need to worry at all.

Since November 2020, my husband had been in the care home. He is peg-fed and very comfortable there. The staff knows he loves his sports and put his TV on for him. He is well looked after by the friendly, caring staff, who in turn have looked after my family. They are so caring right from the top, to
the cleaners and nurses, carers and the people on the desk, in the office and entertainment are lovely people. Once again I cannot thank them all enough I ring twice a day to ask how he is and say good morning and good night and they always have a chat and ask how I am.

Mom was taken to Anville Court Care Home with end-stage dementia. All staff very friendly during a difficult time and restricted visiting due to Covid. Rooms lovely and able to take photos and mugs from home to make it feel even more like home. Only have one criticism - we received no information regarding
services available eg. hairdressers and how to pay for them. We received no information at all when Mum was taken there.

If you visit late afternoon you often have to wait up to 20 minutes for someone to let you in. No one answers the door buzzer. I also think the food looks unappetising and my mom dislikes virtually everything she is given. My mother is not a great eater but she now seems to have given up on eating altogether.
I feel the look of the food doesn't help. My mom often complains that staff take a long time to come when she rings the buzzer - perhaps you need to recruit more care staff.

Hi, I am sorry that you have been having such issues. I was not aware that you had such concerns and would be pleased to meet to discuss them. In regard to the doorbell, we have staff at reception until 6pm in the evening. If you ever have to wait, I would again encourage you to come and talk to me when you are here so I can look at what was happening to delay anyone answering the door.
All our food is cooked on site daily. Your mum is offered a choice of menu and should she not want what is on offer then if she wishes an alternative would be available. If you wish to be here to support your mum at meal times it might encourage her to eat more. Your mum prefers to take her meals in her room alone and not go to the dining room.
Our staffing numbers are in line with national guidance and we ensure that everyone is attended to when they call us. I will review this for your mum so I can provide you with the information when you are next here.

My lovely mom was given a room at Anville Court when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The home provided a caring, positive and cheerful place for her. We were able to make her room her own with photos, flowers and bedspreads from home. The staff were kind, cheerful and polite and always made
family welcome. They looked after my mom so well and I will forever be grateful to the manager and her fantastic team for that.

My father has been very well cared for since arriving at Anville, (more than two years ago) and his health has gradually got better and better, for which I'm very grateful. The past six months or so have been very challenging, and I have been very impressed at the way the home has coped in such difficult
times. They have made sure residents are as safe as possible, whilst also recognising the extra importance of social activities whilst visitor restrictions are in place. I would like to thank all the staff for their friendliness, kindness and professionalism: nurses, carers, kitchen staff, cleaners, managers, activities staff, office and reception, and anyone else I've not mentioned.

My mother has dementia, survived COVID, and pneumonia. The carers have been very attentive and looked after her. They have had to feed her and give her drinks as well as joisting from bed to chair and chair to bed. I am concerned about the front entrance as it sometimes does not close properly and if
you do not check it, could be unlocked. Sometimes it is open when I arrive.

My mother has been in Anville Court for about 8 years she has deteriorated greatly over the last 3 years but the high level of care she receives here we are convinced has lengthened her life span, the home is spotless and the standard of nursing 1st class they have also kept us informed as a family
of everything concerning our mum and we know how much she is loved by them all. We are extremely grateful for their level of care and concern not only for mum but for us also.

During his stay at Anville Court, he was treated with nothing but kindness and dignity during the last few months of life. The staff and manager showed great compassion to him and fully understood and met his every need. Kindness and compassion were always shown to me too. The home has a lovely garden
and the rooms are bright and airy, many overlooking gardens. Dad took great delight watching birds as all around the garden bird feeders have been placed.

My name is Kelly Richardson and I am the Manager of Anville Court Nursing Home.


I began my nursing career in 1996 when I joined the Army as a Health Care Assistant and went on to qualify as a Registered Nurse in 2006 at the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine in Birmingham. I served multiple operational tours during my 14 years in the Army and left to join the NHS in 2010 to take on a new challenge. From there I developed into Management and have loved it ever since.


I have very high standards and a passion for elderly care and Dementia and I Pride myself on person-centred care as a Nurse which is why I went on to become a Nurse Manager.


I aim for all our Residents to have the best Quality of life whilst living at Anville court including meaningful activities and daily person-centred care.
