My mother-in-law has been at Broomy Hill for approximately 2 years, her care has been great and our family has seen a much improved condition. Having come to Broomy from another "care" home, which allowed a broken hip and ungradable pressure sore to go untreated! My mother-in-law is a wonderful lady
who is finally getting the care she deserves. The staff are very engaging and every aspect of her care, dignity, health, and wealth of experience is catered for. We got my mother-in-law a special postural pressure relief tilt-in-space chair, some of the chairs don't give postural support for the residents. Communal areas could be more homely with nicer furnishings and pictures. Activities displayed on the noticeboard, regular engagement activities such as making, painting and singers coming in, also activities like summer fair, basic engagement such as balloons is very good for hand-eye coordination. Some resident rooms are nicer than others some quite small and basic. Limited road parking.

My Mother-In-Law has been living in Broomy Hill Nursing Home for nearly 2 years. She settled in very quickly and I am very happy with her care. When I visit I am always greeted by happy smiling staff and if I have any concerns I always feel able to chat with staff.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Broomy Hill for approx 15 months.
Whilst it's difficult to see your loved one deteriorate, all the staff are friendly and show care and compassion.
The home has recently seen a change in management, whilst we were happy with my mother-in-law's care before, the
changes the new manager has made have improved the environment and culture of the home.
Small things which make a massive difference.
When I visit I'm always greeted with a friendly hello from the receptionist, the cares, the cook everyone, thank you to all at Broomy Hill for the kindness you are showing my mum-in-law and her family.

My father was a resident from June to October 2024. It was a very difficult time for my dad. The medical challenges that he presented to the staff at Broomy Hill Nursing Home were challenging but everyone dealt with them with great professionalism and kindness.
I could not recommend a better nursing
home to look after your loved one.

The staff at Broomy Hill are truly exceptional. They blend professionalism with warmth
and kindness, showing genuine care for each resident. This compassionate approach has greatly eased my father's transition and brought us comfort.

When my sister was first admitted to Broomy Hill Nursing Home with end-stage dementia, I was very apprehensive in giving over the total care of someone I love to total strangers. From day one, I was given reassurance that my sister's every need would be provided for and that I could visit or phone any
time. While my sister's condition can change, I can always ask questions to find out how this is being managed. When visiting, I have never experienced anything other than kindness and patience to my sister and support for which I am very grateful to myself! Words cannot express how grateful I feel to everyone at Broomy Hill.

Broomy Hill Day Care and respite had been life-changing for my mum. Suffering from dementia and having other health difficulties means she needs understanding and patience. Two members of staff in particular and the team always make Mum so welcome and I feel like they genuinely care for her and me!
It was Mum's birthday recently and they made her feel so special. They signed her card, from your Broomy Hill family. Well, quite frankly we do feel like part of the family when we go there. The warm, welcoming and caring Broomy Hill family. Nothing was too much trouble when she stayed for respite and Mum's room was clean, warm and comfortable with a nice garden view. Mum enjoyed her time so much she is looking forward to going back again!

My mum was a resident for 18 months before she passed away in January 2024.
I can't recommend enough.
The care staff are excellent. The team is consistent with little changes to the staffing. My mum saw the same people every day which is very comforting and was less confusing for her.
The food was
lovely and cooked every day on the premises.
The rooms are modern and inviting.
I knew all the staff, including the cook, and they knew me.
I was so happy she was there.

My mum has been attending the daycare centre since October. Every time I collect her, she is in such high spirits saying how lovely everyone is there. She is also clearly being well-stimulated as she is more observant and doing some of her old habits like making sentences based on letters on registration
plates. This may sound simple but for a few years now, Mum hasn’t engaged in this sort of fun thing and it makes us both smile.
Mum has also sung to me on the way home, music is important to Mum and the staff have been really thoughtful about the music she would like and want to sing along with.
I just can’t fault the care, thoughtfulness and commitment that I have seen, so far, from the staff and look forward to increasing Mums time there.

My beloved husband passed away at Broomy Hill late last month after being part of the Broomy Hill family for 8 years. I will never be able to fully thank all the staff for their professional care, compassion and love for him during his time with them. Nothing was ever too much trouble, he was treated
like a family member and afforded every act of compassion right up to the end. I stayed with him in the home for the last ten days of his life and their empathy, professionalism and love were extended to me as well and this applied to all the staff, management, nursing, cleaners and catering. They all, without exception, took me under their wing and made a deeply distressing time bearable. Thank you Broomy Hill, you are an amazing group of people. I'll never be able to repay you for everything you did for him.

My mum has been through a lot over the last 12 months, she has lost her husband and had several falls which has led to operations. Her recovery has been slow whilst in hospital as they don't have the time and resources to really help those who need some tender loving care. It is upsetting to see someone
you love disappear before your eyes, they lose their mental strength and ability to look after themselves. Whilst it is difficult to experience this as a son all you do is your best and try and seek the help you need as a family and have confidence in the care they are receiving. I have to say that all the staff at Broomy are attentive and put my mum's care front and centre what they do. The team look to stimulate the residents and welcome visitors with a smile and offer a quick update how the day has been! For me, it gives me great piece of mind that my mum is settled, receives great care and allows me to get on with my life.

My husband was discharged from a long hospital stay into a discharge to assess bed at Broomy Hill. He had been bedbound for some time and needed to be hoisted upon his arrival. Within days, the dedicated nursing staff had him out of bed and mobilised independently. My husband displays challenging behaviour
and this is handled with care and dignity by the staff. I would particularly commend the clinical lead, who has recognised that sometimes relatives also need guidance, reassurance and practical advice in order to make the best-informed decisions for their loved ones. She has co-operated with the mental health team to determine the best way forward for my husband's welfare and for this I am most grateful.

With over 25 years of experience as a qualified general nurse, my career began as a district nurse, followed by advanced practice roles. I have worked in GP surgeries and urgent care centres before transitioning into care home management.


Originally from Liverpool, I moved away when my daughter left for university, although my heart remains connected to my beloved city. Four years ago, my husband and I, along with our two dogs, decided to settle in Hereford after years of living a nomadic lifestyle. We now enjoy a more rooted life, cherishing the time spent with our two grandchildren, who keep us active and youthful.


My passion lies in providing quality care for older adults, especially those living with dementia. I find great fulfilment in stepping away from the desk and working directly alongside my dedicated team.


Since joining Ashberry in August 2023, I have felt immensely proud to be part of this exceptional team. I am excited about the future and look forward to leading Broomy Hill towards continued excellence in care.
