The home is proud of its local reputation and the clinical expertise it provides.

Physiotherapy is offered to all residents which improves quality of life.

The home offers so many opportunities to engage in hobbies and interests and has excellent links with the local community. Highwell House has its own minibus with wheelchair access.

When Mum needed long-term care, her first choice was Highwell House as she knew the home as she had been a District Nurse in Bromyard many years ago and the home was part of her round. As a family, we couldn't ask for more. The staff are professional and caring to the whole family. I would highly recommend
Highwell.

Most of my scoring is 'good' after my relative has been in the Home for nearly two years. Almost all the staff are good at their various jobs and the residents are well looked after. Some of the residents who have poor mental capacity can be very awkward but are treated with sympathy and no anger, rather
than the opposite. The home itself is nicely furnished with plenty of public space and lovely views. It has a relaxed atmosphere, again helped by the staff who sometimes take time out to sit and talk to the residents. It is also amenable if one wants something extra and has refrigerator space for the little special foods which make such a difference to certain residents. The system for checking food intake and medicines runs smoothly. To be honest, what more could one want?

I visited my old friend at Highwell House, I can't tell you what a pleasure it was to see how happy she was in such a friendly fun-filled atmosphere. The staff made me feel very welcome and as always we had a lovely time together in her beautiful home. I can't thank everyone enough for all they have

Having spent quite some time researching and visiting a few care homes around the Bromyard area, I was struggling to feel any felt right for Mum until I walked through the door of Highwell House Nursing Home and met the Home Manager. I knew immediately it was the right one for Mum, it has a home from
home feel and the room available for Mum was just lovely so pretty and cosy with an en-suite which was important, Mum moved in end of October and she loves it, shes settled really well and the staff are so kind and calm really lovely its always a pleasure to visit Mum and I now feel its a Home from Home, I know Mum is cared for 24/7 but also treated with the utmost respect and the manager organises so many lovely treats and trips out for the residents it an amazing place.

When Dad decided he needed permanent care we found on our first contact with the home manager to be excellent.
Beautiful location, very clean and tidy, staff very friendly and helpful and according to dad the food is great!
Would recommend Highwell to anyone seeking a well run home.

My husband has been resident at Highwell House since early December 2021 when he was booked in for a period of one week's respite care. Subsequently, it was recognised that he is in need of 24 hour a day nursing care and a room was made available to him.
As a family, we are all so happy with the professional
way in which he is treated, and the evident rapport which all the staff have with him - always patient and caring, always ready to jolly him along when necessary - even when, as sometimes happens, he presses his buzzer and says "Please can we have some tea and sandwiches!"
We are frequently welcomed to join the residents for a variety of events - the Queen's jubilee celebration this year being one which was so enjoyable with all the staff prepared to go the extra mile to ensure residents' inclusion.
I will be eternally grateful to all the staff at Highwell House, an absolute shining example to care homes everywhere.

My wife spent 10 days at Highwell House Nursing & Residential Care whilst I was having surgery. Her initial apprehension was quickly dispelled by the friendly and warm welcome which she experienced: both she and I were impressed at my being invited to stay with her for lunch on the first day as this
contributed to a smooth and gentle settling in process. Our daughters were equally impressed when they visited her. The staff were understanding and thoughtful in their care and encouraged her to join in the various activities and communicate with the other residents.

The care my mother received was outstanding at Highwell House. She was treated with dignity and compassion by nurses and carers alike. I also stayed with my mum for the last few days of her life and the staff made sure that I was also cared for. In a nutshell, all staff at Highwell House are amazing.
They kept us informed about all Mum's pain relief and made sure that she was free from pain at all times. Excellent care.

Mum has been a resident for over three years now. We are so pleased that we found Highwell House. Mum has been treated with care and dignity. My wife had to leave another home due to poor care. Since she has been at Highwell House, we have been very impressed with the staff and the care she receives.
Covid has made things difficult, but both I and our children can relax knowing she is well looked after. It is great now things have relaxed
a bit now we can visit in the lounge.
Before the Covid issues the chef cooked a special meal for her birthday at the table, which was excellent. This is just one example of the team going the extra mile.
We are always greeted with smiles and made to feel welcome.
For someone suffering from dementia who cannot care for herself, I can't think of a better location.

Although my Dad has dementia and Parkinson's, he remains bright and happy at Highwell, he loves all the attention and interaction with the staff. Both staff and management are lovely, they show great compassion and love towards Dad, yet continue to carry out an extremely difficult job. The service provided

Dad has been living at Highwell House now for over a year, he has received and continues to receive the professional care he needs from a very supportive and loving care team. He’s thoroughly spoilt by all of the staff, and I feel they have become his extended family. The manager and her lovely team
work so hard not only to make Dad feel comfortable but to make him happy, reassured and safe. Throughout the pandemic, they have worked tirelessly to ensure all of the residents are protected but have also managed to keep us in contact via social media etc. Visiting is easy and never an issue, it’s always lovely to see dad and how he interacts with his carers in such a comfortable and relaxed way. Thanks to the manager and her hard working team Dad has settled very well into life at Highwell House, I am so grateful to them all.

My mother has been a resident at Highwell House for nearly three years now and during that time I have nothing but praise for the help and support that staff at the home have given to her.
So much time and care is afforded to each of the residents at the home, to best meet their specific requirements.
My
mother recently celebrated a special birthday, and staff ensured that the day was memorable, making the effort to decorate her surroundings with personalised decorations. Mom really enjoyed her day.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Highwell House as a wonderful environment for a cherished loved one. It truly is a remarkable Home.

Mum was discharged from the hospital into Highwell House Nursing & Residential Care for her final days of care. She was well looked after and cared for by all the nursing staff. She was treated with respect and in a dignified way - until she succumbed to her illness and passed away.

In the 9 months that my mum has been living at Highwell House Nursing & Residential Care, she has received the highest quality of care, adjusted to meet her individual needs as her dementia has progressed. Staff have had to manage a quite significant deterioration in her physical and mental capacity,
but have risen to each challenge and made the necessary adaptations to support mum in the best way possible. Led by a highly-skilled, experienced and dedicated manager, the staff team exude positivity, warmth, generosity of spirit and patience towards their residents. My family and I are very glad we placed mum at Highwell House.

We chose Highwell House Nursing & Residential Care for my husband who is now a resident purely for the professionalism and quality of the care staff and we have not been disappointed. All care staff have excellent nursing skills but also show great kindness understanding care and support not just for

Our mother reluctantly went to Highwell House Nursing & Residential Care for nursing care in the remaining weeks of her life. Despite the shortness of her time there, the staff's cheerful manner and gentle persuasion resulted in her forming close relationships which helped ease her final days. As a
family, we all felt that they had got to know her, met her health, emotional and spiritual needs, and supported us all through what was an immensely difficult time. All the staff are consummate professionals and Highwell sets the standards others should strive to achieve.

Dad went to Highwell House Nursing & Residential Care in December, initially for one week's Respite Care. This had been a very difficult decision for Mum who has been his full-time carer for the last several years. Unfortunately, during that week, Mum had an accident. The manager could not have been
more supportive in allowing Dad to remain at Highwell House and she and 'Team Highwell' have been incredible. It has also become evident that Dad now needs 24-hour nursing care.
Highwell is outstanding and it is very evident why this is so with the manager, clearly both ‘holding’ and ‘passing' the baton of her leadership to the rest of her team at all times. This is difficult to do well and doing so in the most challenging of times is even more of an achievement.
I have never seen the 6 Cs, values essential to compassionate care, demonstrated in such abundance - Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage and Commitment.
Thank you so much for looking after Dad as well as Mum and us.
