The home is proud of its local reputation and the clinical expertise it provides.

Physiotherapy is offered to all residents which improves quality of life.

The home offers so many opportunities to engage in hobbies and interests and has excellent links with the local community. Highwell House has its own minibus with wheelchair access.

Having a relative put into a nursing home is not a procedure that is easy but my husband and I were very surprised at the excellent care and attention my father-in-law has been shown. Visiting friends and relatives are made very welcome.
The rooms are always clean, and nothing is too much trouble.
A difficult situation definitely made easier; by good management and caring staff.

Although I am not able to visit regularly when I do the resident for whom I have power of attorney for, seems happy, contented and well looked after. The staff seem very friendly and caring.

It's not nice having to put someone you love /cherish into a nursing home, but when it becomes apparent that's the only option left you have to find the perfect home for your loved ones. After visiting other homes Highwell House stood out way above the others. Friendly, approachable and caring were
obvious traits from the staff. The other homes didn't give this feeling. The home itself was welcoming, warm, clean and it had a nice homely feel to it. Food is always served hot and varied and her room is clean. You can add personal items to your room to make them feel settled. The notice board show a variety of activities that they can participate in. The nurses/staff have been the same since we arrived, which shows stability and familiar faces to the patients, making them feel at ease. My grandmother doesn't seem to appreciate what a nice place Highwell House is due to her illness, but the important thing is, we know and we can relax knowing she's being well looked after.

Great effort goes into the care for my friend, particularly regarding her aversion to personal care where they continually look at ways to make it more acceptable with as little stress as possible for her.
Sharing views with residents and other visitors, as well as personal observation, it's clear
the home is run to a very very high standard.

Always a warm and friendly welcome awaits me at Highwell House. Efficient and professional, but relaxed when it needs to be. I have watched the staff build a rapport with Dad at different emotional levels, from nursing care to light-hearted banter. Dad's room is always spotless and tidy, as are the
shared areas. The social opportunities are managed well from shopping, dining, entertainment, to making Christmas cakes and fireworks.

Dad was admitted to Highwell House in June 2019. He very quickly settled with the full support of all the staff. They are very friendly, caring and supportive in all his needs. Dad is encouraged to participate in all daily activities, but due to his dementia, has limited ability. Dad's placement in
Highwell House is definitely the right care home for him and I would not want him to be anywhere else.

Everyone at the home has been very caring towards my parents. They are encouraged to join in the numerous activities and events offered. They are always treated with the utmost respect.
The home is extremely well maintained throughout and they always offer a good choice of menu.

The care in this home is fantastic. The nurses are lovely and the lengths they go to are amazing. We were chatting with my mum about when we used to go sailing and within a few days, there were pics on the group where they had taken her out on a boat. Another time we were chatting with her about the
flowers she used to arrange in our childhood home and again I then saw pics on the group a few days later of mum having a load of fun doing flowers for the dining room. This home has transformed my mum's life, but incredibly also, that of my sister, father and I. We no longer stress about Mum as we know she is so well cared for.

The home feels very homely and all the staff go the extra mile to make every day special. The staff will try and arrange any special request they receive. It is a pleasure to attend any special event and a joy to see my mother happy and well cared for.

Dad has only been a resident for just over three weeks, but my initial impression is excellent.
Immediately made to feel very welcome and Dad has settled very well - much to our surprise. I think this is because all staff are friendly, accommodating and very caring, understanding Dad's needs.

My mother was a resident for about 6 weeks receiving palliative care. The staff all treated her kindly and with dignity. Their care was second none. She had a lovely en-suite room with a superb view over the fields and hills. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Highwell House.

I was very impressed with the caring staff. They made my husband very welcome and looked after his needs with kindness and respect. The food was good and tables were laid to look nice. The entertainment could have been made clearer by word of mouth, as he wasn't aware of might be available each day.

Dad was in very poor health and very frail when he arrived at Highwell. Within 3 days he had made remarkable progress. It was evident that all the staff were contributing to my father's care and support. It is clearly obvious that staff are well trained, highly motivated and deliver exceptional care.
You could see that staff love their jobs, are well supported by management and put their hearts into their work. Huge thanks from the whole family.

I feel that I'm in the wrong place at times as I'm here with lots of older people. I enjoy getting out such as trips out and to the theatre and shopping and would like to do this more often.
I think the carers are very nice.
