Less than a mile from the quaint market town of Leominster, this care home is set in 6 acres of attractive landscaped gardens, overlooking the beautiful Herefordshire countryside.

The modern purpose built house provides accommodation for 33 residents in both single and double rooms over 2 floors, with plenty of communal space. Most rooms offer beautiful rural views bringing a sense of tranquillity and peace. The home has an extension to the conservatory, lounge and dining room, which has also provided a garden terrace overlooking the valley.

The home is part of a small, local nursing home group, which has excellent care standards across all of its homes. Owners believe that West Eaton provides a happy, homely environment which residents and relatives value highly, and they encourage visitors to come at any time and to support social events. Professionals cater for nursing and dementia needs, and offer both palliative care and respite care.

One of West Eaton's carers was recently awarded the Best Newcomer award at the Great British Regional finals (2024) and will participate in the Nationals early next year. Another carer was awarded the Highly Commended award in the Carer of the Year category and the home's Lifestyle and Wellbeing Co-Ordinator made it to finalist stage.

My mum has been extremely well looked after since her arrival in December. The nurses know all her medical needs very well and she has made some lovely friends with the staff. Mum is happy and I am so utterly thankful for all the care and attention she has been given.

My mother has recently died after five years at West Eaton. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. They combined human warmth and humour with superb care throughout her time there. They adapted to the different stages of her health (and dementia), always helping her to enjoy life as much as she was
able. Staff were always polite, calm, caring and friendly, and as a regular visitor I was always made welcome. Their different approaches to different residents was testament to their thoughtfulness and intention to do their best for every individual. I am immensely grateful to them all. The setting is wonderful. The view is lovely, the home is filled with natural and uplifting light and many residents and visitors make use of the garden.

My mother was in the care home for 10 months and was reluctant to go in there. The home catered for all her needs and she came out of her shell. During her final month there (February) they couldn't do enough for her and were very attentive and caring. They catered for any food she wanted and during
her last few days were exceptional, constantly checking on her when she was confined to bed with the utmost respect.
If I ever have to go into a home I wouldn't hesitate to go into this one.

Our friend came to West Eaton after a lengthy stay in hospital.
From the moment of his arrival the staff were kind , attentive and welcoming and had arranged his favourite beer which meant so much at the time.


Our friend was only in the home for 14 weeks but during that time he was able to have

somewhere he could call home . He loved the freshly homely cooking and had everything he needed in his room.


We can't thank the staff enough for all they did to make those 14 weeks comfortable for him. From the maintenance man to the cleaners , the cooks and nursing staff , everyone delivered outstanding care with love , compassion and dignity at all times.


We highly recommend the home from the experience we have had.

My Mother has been a resident at West Eaton for several years now and from my observations I must say that the care she has received has been of an exceptionally high standard. There is a community and homely feel to West Eaton and all the Care, Nursing, Catering and Admin staff work together to provide
a very personal service and program to the residents. The building and setting are also well suited to the residents' needs and are well maintained. Although my mother is really very frail now there is a good balance between stimulation and engagement and private time and rest. This balance is actively reviewed by the staff from time to time and communication with the family has been great.
Visits, crafts and music etc are clearly very actively planned by the staff so that options are available and suited to the needs of individual residents. In my mother's case this, I believe, has played a significant role in her comfort and contentment as her dementia has progressed.

As a befriender, I visited every fortnight one of the care home residents. West Eaton has a lovely setting overlooking horses in a paddock at the back, and rolling hills at the front. The Home is immaculately clean, light, and airy, and the staff is friendly, professional, and attentive with a good
sense of humour. There are always interesting events taking place - for example, a harpist came to play one afternoon last week and which was very well received. A few weeks ago chef made some cheese scones which I tasted and were delicious!

I think West Eaton is a well-managed home where residents feel safe and contented. It feels that the staff are happy and there is a friendly caring to all. Both carers and activity staff help all the residents to become involved with the many activities which are imaginative and on offer every day.
West Eaton feels like a happy, busy, place but not too noisy. All the staff have time for everyone including visitors. The care of my husband who stays in bed is excellent both physically and emotionally. Many of the staff have known him for all the last year he has been there.

Mum has been living at Weat Eaton for 3.5 years. The home and her room are always spotless as is she. Can't speak highly enough of the care and staff. There is always plenty going on and arranged events, although often she does not engage. Walking into West Eaton is more like entering a hotel rather
than a care home. Communication from the home is always very good.

This is a wonderful care home. The care provided to my mother is excellent.
Mum is much more engaged due to the great care and activities provided.
Everyone at West Eaton is warm and friendly.
It can be really hard to have a family member in a care home but it's a huge relief to be able to trust
that the care given is of a consistently high quality.
We really couldn't ask for better.

Outstanding end-of-life care for my mother. West Eaton even made sure that someone was with her when she died. (This was in the early hours of the morning and I could not have made it to Mum's bedside in time.) Knowing that Mum was not alone when she died gave me great comfort.

We knew that it would be a huge change for our loved one when she moved from her own home into full-time care at West Eaton. But from the first moment, when we were met with a warm welcome at the door and the West Eaton team swung into action, the transition went smoothly and happily. Over the past
few months, our loved one has settled in well as she has got to know the West Eaton team and they have got to know her. The family has been kept well informed about medical, social and emotional progress, any issues have been speedily shared, and we have always been warmly welcomed during the flexible visiting hours. The activities, for those who wish to participate, are many and varied and frequent personal touches are much appreciated by residents. The whole, wonderful West Eaton team work so hard to ensure that the West Eaton experience is a personal and comfortable one for residents. We are very grateful to have found such a caring home for our loved one.

I cannot speak highly enough of West Eaton Nursing and Residential Home. They were able to help my lovely mum with a month of respite care at a tricky time. Every members of staff which we had contact with was professional in every way but also had a warmth, treating people individually and with care.
So much work goes on behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly, but as a visitor to see a resident you would never know. The atmosphere was always lovely, everybody had time for you and questions were always answered. I would not hesitate to ask West Eaton if my mum could stay with them again if we found ourselves in the same situation again.

Every time I visit my friend I am so pleased to see him being so well looked after. There is always an air of calmness and staff readily smile and are ready to help. I have seen the staff calmly and patiently feeding my friend with cheerful gentle encouragement. I am particularly impressed by the staff
and clear explanation stage by stage when helping with changes of clothing etc. Dignity at all times.

The experience here for my auntie has been excellent care from all the staff who are always trying to get her involved with activities. Trying different foods and diets. The staff even went up to the local town to get her different foods.

My mother received outstanding care from all the staff at West Eaton. The nursing staff, the carers, the catering staff and the management team were most professional and no request was too much. My mother spent a very happy last 18 months of her life here and really thrived in their care. She loved all the activities and we loved seeing what she was up to on the regular social media posts as the whole family felt that they could keep in touch with her this way. From our first visit, it was apparent that the level of care and consideration achieved by the management, administration, nursing and all of the care staff was beyond what we had experienced and indeed expected from any care home.
Crucially, West Eaton Nursing and Residential Home have twin rooms
so couples can remain together whilst enjoying bespoke care and a quality of life that they could no longer maintain at home; meals, activities, prescriptions, housekeeping, basically all those things that are a challenge for those in need and the families who worry so much about them.
During all our visits we have never seen anything but care, empathy and a genuine willingness to create a tailor-made experience for both residents and the wider family. This is all done with a smile and an appropriate sense of humour which gives the whole place a light, relaxed and calm atmosphere that is infectious.
In short, should I ever need residential care I do hope West Eaton is there for me.

Excellent care home. Staff are attentive and well organised. Exemplary care for my mother, right up until her death, which was able to happen in a pain-free and dignified manner. The home is clean and aesthetically pleasing. Compared to other homes, it is by far the best. Facilities and activities are
