My father went into Holmwood Care Centre for three weeks respite care. He enjoyed his stay so much he stayed. The staff and the care have been faultless. He has been well cared for and loved. After his cancer diagnosis, his care was excellent and our family kept well informed. The staff did everything
they could for him.

Dad had a good time on respite care earlier in the year and we were very pleased at the care and attention he received. After a visit to hospitals, we had no hesitation using Holmwood Care Centre for what turned out to be end of life care. He was treated well and with dignity for his last few days and

My mother went into respite for 8 days and was treated very well, extremely well! So much so that she would like to go back in 2022. It is a very friendly place and the staff were that obliging! Definitely have a return visit.

I have always been happy with the care my mum has received in Holmwood Care Centre. They have cared for and looked after residents well, especially in the recent difficult times. Though I can leave a review, it relates to when I was last allowed into the home before the Covid pandemic.

Since my sister went into Holmwood in January 2019. There have been constant changes in management personnel, 4 different managers/manageress also various assistant managers all of which have not been efficient.
At this time another management has taken office and as yet I have not noticed any changes
in residents care or relatives contact.

My mother has spent the last seven years at Holmwood, six years in residential and one year in nursing.
She has always received the best possible care and all the staff I have been in contact with, treat her with kindness and respect.
I am kept informed at all times and the staff work together as
a team, providing an excellent service to the residents.
My mother, I know, is very happy and comfortable at Holmwood.

Mum received excellent care from a very special team of caring and compassionate staff. In particular, during Mum's final days, the nurses and carers demonstrated a true sensitivity of understanding of Mum's needs and also provided the support to me that I needed. Thank you.

The care that all the staff gave to my mother during the time she spent at Holmwood was wonderful. It is a team effort by everyone and considering the current circumstances, they went above and beyond what we expected. We chose Holmwood for her end of life care due to the reviews on here. She wasn't
the easiest of patients, suffering from Parkinson's and late-stage Lewy Body Dementia, however, they cared for her with concern, respect, safety and dignity, trying different things to manage her sundowning and hallucinations and different food to get her to eat. They communicated with my dad every day, sharing information and when we couldn't visit we sometimes saw her via Skype. My mom was very happy during her time there. At the end, we were allowed to visit her every day and say our goodbye's. The home is kept clean to a high standard, is well kept and there is plenty of staff onsite. Thank you to the manager and the team for all your care.

There is new management, and this seems to be working well with excellent staff. I feel my mother is loved and cared for by all members of staff. Everyone is very friendly. I have not been able to visit my mother for over two months due to Covid-19. The home has kept me very well informed with emails,
I have spoken to my mother on Skye and telephone. My family and I are quite content with the way the home is looking after our mother during the present situation.

We are really pleased with the care my husband has been receiving. The staff are very warm and caring and take the time to listen if you have concerns about your relative.
The rooms are kept clean and they are comfortable with nice views over the garden, which is very important to my husband, who
has always done gardening.
While I am so happy that my husband is safe and cared for, while I am not with him, more thought needs to be put into activities for the residents, more active, rather than just crafts.

I have nothing but praise for the care and kindness shown to my husband since he became a resident 6 months ago. Nurses, carers, housekeeping, and all staff are efficient, caring and friendly. Recent management changes have improved things even more. They also look after me too which is much appreciated.
It's hard to have your loved one in a care home, but I go home from him each day, confident he is well looked after. Having had a bad experience in the past with a nursing home feel I have something to compare it too and would not hesitate in recommending this care home.

My husband and family are loved and cared for so well. The carers are amazing. The management is so very helpful. It really has a family atmosphere. It took me a while to accept anyone could look after my darling husband as well as me, but they surpass my expectations, the gentleness and respect everyone
shows to the residents is amazing. The kitchen staff, cleaners and laundry staff are just the same, food is great.

My mother was only here for a few weeks while we built her a room at her home. Loved the home, never the less, Mum didn't cope very well. Not the home, just Mum. All the carers and staff were fantastic. Thanks also to a particular member of staff for looking after Mum on her night shift.

My husband and I were really worried about putting my father-in-law in care due to his decline with vascular dementia as any relative would be. But after a lot of reassurance from the care home manager and the warmth of the staff when he arrived, all our fears were laid to rest. After two weeks, he
had settled and didn't even mention coming home.
We know now he is in the best place and applaud everyone that does this for a living as the last seven months looking after him have been our most difficult time ever. My husband and I now know he is extremely well looked after and have no worries about his future time spent here.

Hello, my name is Rachel and I am the Home Manager here at Holmwood Care Centre.


I am a Registered Nurse with over 30 years of practice, my professional background is in End-of-Life Care and Hospice Care.
Prior to joining the Future Care Group, I worked as a Registered Manager in the Worcestershire area, looking after residents with a variety of individual needs.


I believe in providing the best care possible for our residents, creating a welcoming home form home environment whist ensuring each person’s individual needs are met with dignity and respect.


I have a great team of staff here at Holmwood, who are always happy to help, I believe in an open-door policy where residents, relatives and staff can feel free to come and see me to discuss any issues or concerns.


When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and exploring new areas with our dog.

Joined: 2001

Hello, I'm Kim. I have been the Administration Manager at Holmwood for 18 years and have previously worked in Personnel Admin before taking time off to have a family.


I enjoy working in an environment that is challenging and rewarding, which is why I love Holmwood! The residents are wonderful here and I love being a part of their lives every day. There is a good team at Holmwood with quite a few members of staff who have been here for a number of years. This makes for a solid base for our work at Holmwood.

Hello, I’m Leah.
I have been working in care homes for 7 years and have always loved being around the elderly, learning their stories and helping with anything they need.

Holmwood is a beautiful home and is very welcoming to everyone who comes into this building.

I am always happy to support and assist Maintenance Managers in other homes in the Future Care Group. As you can imagine, there is never a dull moment here at Holmwood.
