My Dad stayed in Hollyfields for a short time for respite care following a fall at home resulting in a broken hip. When Dad was transferred from a Local Authority Care Home, he was probably at the lowest I have seen him. The staff at Hollyfields were amazing in looking after him and building him back
up. Nothing was too much trouble, staff were kind, caring and responsive. The catering team were fantastic, catering to his needs by offering meals that he would prefer to menu. He felt valued as a person and enjoyed his chats with all the staff. After coming home he said he enjoyed his stay there,, we were very happy with the level of care he received during his stay.

I would not recommend sending a loved one to Barchester Hollyfields Care Home for end-of-life/palliative care. Issues were not dealt with in a professional manner, in fact, they were usually denied and told that our brother was "confused" when he had full mental capacity. In the final weeks of his life,
he had an infection for which medical attention was not sought. He also had a bed sore, which was completely avoidable with proper care. We found the manager to be lacking in any genuine empathy when we needed support. Most of the staff were lovely and kind, sadly this was overshadowed by the negative aspects we experienced.

My mother and father have been residents here, unfortunately, my mum passed away in June. Both received and are still receiving care above and beyond. I cannot fault anything. Staff are friendly and kind and go out of their way to make Dad's stay as comfortable and happy as possible.

Dad was transferred to Hollyfields on Saturday 6th July am, from a hospital setting. The transfer notes apparently were not great. The home manager and support staff quickly sorted our problems by calling the duty doctor who prescribed suitable medication. During the very short time Dad was there, he
was treated with respect and great kindness. We couldn't have wished for a better setting for his last few days. (Dad was unable to take part in activities).

My husband is a long-term resident suffering from dementia. During this time, his needs, in all areas, have grown and become more complex. The staff have, at all times, provided the care, support and respect he needs as he loses his battle with Alzheimer's.

From the first time we visited to assess Barchester Hollyfields Care Home (when we received a warm welcome as soon as we stepped inside) to the last day when Mom passed away peacefully, the standard of care the staff provided was first-class.
Mom was seriously ill but still able to communicate and
all the staff, from senior nurses to cleaners, were always chatting with Mom and making her feel at home.
In addition, whoever visited Mom, family or friends, we all were made to feel very welcome - the delicious cakes in reception will be long remembered!
Her time at Hollyfields was short but Mom received the best care possible.

My uncle was a resident at this amazing facility. The staff who cared for him during his final days were incredible. They cared for his every need, made him comfortable and supported the family through this hard time. The carers and nurses should take great pride in their job as they worked so hard

My mum's stay was relatively short at Hollyfields, but in that time she was cared for, looked after and loved by all the staff. Nothing was ever too much for them, so understanding and kept you well informed. Hollyfields and Ivy House is a homely place for your loved one to go to. Plenty of activities,
outings for tea and cake or even a meal, sometimes a garden centre. Food is absolutely delicious and nutritious. Mum particularly loved it when a singer or anything musical was on, up she was dancing. I would recommend anyone to go and take a look around. Thank you to everyone at Hollyfields for caring for Mum.

Since my wife was admitted to Barchester Hollyfields Care Home after previous respite care there I have been very impressed by the care she has received. Staff have been outstanding in the constant loving care given to her night and day especially when she has been unwell and needed to go to hospital.
Prompt and constant contact was made with me which I greatly appreciate.
Myself and family are warmly welcomed by kind and comforting words and a smile.
Every effort is made to encourage my wife to be involved in the wide and varied ongoing activities. Opportunities to join her in events both in the home and outside are much appreciated. She has settled into her new family very well and seems to enjoy being here despite her Dementia.
From the highest to the lowest, the staff support not only for my wife but also for me has been exemplary in a life-changing time in our married life. A big thank you to everyone!

My dad was transferred from an NHS hospital to Barchester Hollyfields Care Home for end-of-life care. I found that the staff were excellent and really did go the extra mile to make my dad's short life there as good as possible. They treated him with compassion and dignity. I walked in on many occasions
to find that a member of staff was sat with him holding his hand and talking. They also gave support to me at a most difficult time.

Alison Moseley-Shaw

Job Title: General Manager

Joined: 2022

My journey in Healthcare began in 2004 when I graduated with a BSC (Hons) qualification. I started my career on an NHS ward, where I gained invaluable experience and honed my skills in patient care. Over time, I transitioned my skills into medical education, expanding my knowledge and expertise.


In 2016, I decided to explore new opportunities in private healthcare and accepted a role as Deputy Ward Manager. This experience allowed me to further develop my leadership abilities while continuing to prioritise the well-being of patients.


In 2022, I made the transition into a nursing home, taking on the role of Deputy Manager. Here, my passion for the well-being of both residents and staff truly flourished. It was a privilege to contribute to creating a supportive and nurturing environment for all.


In 2023, I was honoured to be promoted to General Manager, a role that allows me to lead with compassion and dedication. My commitment to the well-being of residents and staff remains at the forefront of everything I do, driving me to continually strive for excellence in care provision.


Outside of work, I'm a proud mum to four wonderful grown-up children and step-mum to two younger children. Family means everything to me and I cherish the time we spend together. Being a Nanna to two wonderful grandsons brings me immense joy, and I treasure every moment with them.


In my free time, I love nothing more than going on holidays with my husband. Whether it's exploring new destinations or returning to our favourite spots, I find immense happiness in discovering new cultures, cuisines and experiences. Travelling allows me to unwind, recharge, and create lifelong memories.

Hello, my name is Rebecca Chelin. Originally from South Africa, I embarked on my nursing journey in 2012, specialising in oncology. With a passion for providing compassionate care, I transitioned to the UK in 2019, eager to continue to make a difference in the lives of others. Since joining the Hollyfields team in 2023, I've had the privilege of serving as a dedicated nurse, and I'm honoured to have been promoted to the role of Deputy Manager in 2024.

Hi, my name is Danielle and I started with Barchester back in 2004 as a care assistant, working my way up to a senior care assistant. After a while, I took on the home trainer role and completed my teaching qualification and assessors award (A1) and dementia specialist training. Then I got promoted to Team leader. I have also carried out the duties as an admin assistant within my time at Barchester. I was unit lead at Ivy House for 2 years. I have my level 2 and 3 in care.


I love my job and I am very passionate when it comes to care and looking after people. I am very committed to the delivery of high standards of care to our residents. As the Hollyfields home administrator, I look after all the financial aspects relating to running this beautiful home.

Hi, my name is Kimberley and I'm part of the activities team here at Hollyfield's Care Home. I joined the care team here in 2023, and have a real passion for making our resident's dreams come true. I grasped the opportunity to become an Activities Coordinator in Spring 2024. My role allows me to provide our residents with life-enriching activities tailored to their particular abilities, wants and needs.


Outside work, I'm a mother, step mum and carer to my husband's parents. As a qualified hairdresser, I also take time to ensure all our residents look and feel good on a regular basis with trips to the beauty salon within our home's activity room.

My name is Sarah Finch and I am the Head Chef here at Hollyfields. I started my career with Barchester as a Care Assistant and worked my way up to Head Chef eventually. I have my NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery.


I cater to the needs of residents, adhering to all dietary requirements, and compiling nutritious menus based on their likes and dislikes.


I have a good team that works alongside me, including my Second Chef, and a team of trained Kitchen Assistants who have helped maintain the highest score (5) for our food hygiene inspections over the past few years.
