Level of welcome and care was fantastic. Took note of my father's needs and gave very high quality care. Room facilities were good, air bed made the stay more comfortable. The carers were extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble.

Simply a great care home. Wonderful staff who really care about the residents, remembering habits and preferences as well as caring for residents similarly to a friend or relative rather than a carer. Excellent food, a great range of activities and pastimes, and very clean and beautiful views.

After hip surgery, I went into the care home for two weeks of respite before going home. I found the staff very helpful and pleasant at all times.

We were extremely satisfied with the quality of the end of life care provided to my father. From the initial assessment to the final moments and after, everybody at Rashwood Care Home from management to carers to cleaners was great. Caring, understanding and flexible. The grounds are beautiful and very
well maintained. Although Dad's ability to enjoy the food was already impaired by the time he arrived, the staff did an excellent job of catering to his needs.
We have experience with another local care home and the comparison to Rashwood is night and day. We would very strongly recommend Rashwood Care Home.

Rashwood Care Home is an exceptional care home. Located in an idyllic setting, it offers a unique experience to residents and their families. The manager and her team offer a professional, caring yet individual experience to all residents and are accessible and supportive to their families. This week
we had a lovely birthday get-together with my sister in one of the home's lounges. Busy staff stopped to greet us like old friends and took time out to organise coffee and ensure that we had all that we required. We felt like guests in a top hotel! Thank you Rashwood for all you do and all that you have done for our family during the past difficult two years since my sister moved in.

91-year-old mother respite care for two weeks - first ever experience. You need to rethink your support for respite care - no advance information before arrival, had I not asked for it (assessment appointment is not enough). More support should be given to someone passing through to help their brief
time in situ. For example, encourage them to join activities, check them realise they don't have to have supper in the room every night.
PS. She loathed the bed.

My mother has been a resident at Rashwood for several years. However, she was diagnosed with an extremely debilitating illness prior to moving into the scheme.
I can easily say that she has received the very best of care in the time and thank the management and lovely staff for their expertise and
understanding in care and best practice. Their attention to detail, friendship and always accommodating nature in these critical times for the family is truly welcome.

When it became clear that my mother could no longer manage on her own, we were very pleased that Rashwood could look after her. The team is excellent. The staff are friendly, efficient and high standards of both personal and emotional care are given. My mother has said on several occasions "I'm being
beautifully looked after". I last saw her on January 3rd 2021, her 100th birthday, behind a screen with microphones because of Covid. I have complete confidence in Rashwood.

The care home's philosophy is "exceptional care for the individual" and I saw that in action in every contact I had with the home during the 8 months my father lived there. Everyone working there showed their personal commitment to treating Dad as an individual, with care, compassion and respect for
him, and for my sister and I in our dealings with the home. To achieve this level of care even through the incredibly difficult times of the Covid pandemic is very impressive. During his stay, Dad moved from a room in the residential wing to one in the nursing unit for his last few months, and he experienced a uniformly high standard of care across the board. The staff of all grades, roles and responsibilities were very supportive to me during the final sad weeks of Dad's life, which I much appreciated. If I ever have to go into a care home I would like it to be Rashwood!

I am so very thankful to the team for their total dedication and care for mum, particularly over recent months. They have gone above and beyond to ensure that she is safe, against all odds. It was a delight to finally make the journey down from Scotland to visit this week, and to see that the procedure
and mum's protection whilst I was there were carried out to the highest standard. It can't have been easy for any of the staff to have gone through the last five months; words are just not enough to express how thankful I am. The road ahead may bring real difficulties, but I feel confident in the team and their professionalism. With sincere thanks.

My experience of Rashwood Care Home has been nothing but excellent. My mother has been residing at Rashwood for a number of years and her care has always been of the highest order. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, no matter from what department. The procedures for visiting in the current
situation are very rigid and rightly so, and will only be relaxed when the situation permits. I would without hesitation, unreservedly recommend Rashwood to anyone considering care for their relative(s).

Rashwood Care Home is a truly wonderful place! My father has lived here for the past 2 years and it has surpassed all our expectations. All the staff are friendly, dedicated and professional. The home has a lovely, friendly atmosphere and is spotless. The food is nutritious and the entertainment is
excellent. My father particularly enjoys spending time in the beautiful gardens. It was reassuring to us that our father has been in very safe, caring hands during the Covid-19 pandemic. Thank you Rashwood.

I have been very impressed with the care given to my stepmother during the Covid-19 crisis. Despite the home having a resident with the virus after a hospital visit the staff have managed to prevent other residents from contracting the disease.
When visiting was prohibited the staff facilitated contact
by taking a mobile phone to my stepmother and also arranged a video call so that we could see each other.
When visiting restarted the procedure was very secure with timed arrival, hand hygiene and meeting via an open door in order that I stayed in the open air.

The anguish and devastation endured by care homes during quarter one and quarter two of 2020 needs no further detail here and Rashwood Care Home was not immune to the traumatic impact of Covid 19. Rashwood management and nursing staff acted immediately and my mother was one of a few residents who had
to isolate as a precaution for 14 days. This was a very hard time that was softened by the brave nurses, carers and managers who continued to do their jobs diligently and wholeheartedly whilst obviously having their own family health worries. Nothing has been too much trouble. The stress of lockdown has been mitigated for Mum and her family as we were/are confident that Mum is in very caring and competent hands. We cannot say thank you enough.

My mother came to Rashwood Care Home on respite after a fall, having been dead against going into any kind of care home, with a couple of weeks she decided that she liked it there and would like to stay. The staff are extremely friendly and caring and this helped mum to settle in easily. She loves the
activities and the social events and enjoys mixing with the other residents at mealtimes and in the beautiful garden. The food is excellent and very nourishing and mum's overall health has improved greatly because of it.
Over the coronavirus pandemic, the home has managed the situation very well and taken care to keep the infection away from the residents by following strict government guidelines and following social distancing. We are extremely grateful that these measures have kept mum safe and well.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Rashwood as a wonderful place for your loved one to spend their twilight years - it's a real treasure.

The staff are exemplary and are the very best advert for Rashwood. The facilities are also excellent and very well maintained.

Catherine

Catherine Lines

Job Title: General Manager

Joined: 2024

Catherine trained as a Registered Nurse at the Bristol and Weston School of Nursing which led to a career in nursing spanning cardiac intensive care and a range of surgical specialities culminating in a Surgical Modern Matron position. Catherine led the Bristol Hospital’s International Recruitment and Education Programme which brought her acute nursing experience into senior healthcare management.


In 2005, Catherine moved from the NHS to the role of Director of Tetbury Hospital, an independent charitable community hospital in Tetbury, Gloucestershire. She transferred this experience to health and social care, as the General Manager for The Cotswold Home achieving a CQC Outstanding rating. Catherine then completed two years as Clinical Director overseeing the delivery of care and compliance across Elizabeth Finn Homes.


Catherine has now taken up the role of General Manager for Rashwood. In her own words, “I missed the home environment and the camaraderie of a close-knit community of staff, families and residents. As General Manager of Rashwood, I am most looking forward to getting to know our wonderful residents and to welcoming new ones. I have so many plans for this fabulous home and working with the local community in Droitwich”.
