From the day my father entered Stanfield, he was cared for to the absolute highest standard by the owner and his team. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and not only was my father superbly looked after, but also myself and my mum also received excellent care as we came to terms with my dad's condition.
I cannot speak highly enough about the team at Stanfield… they are an absolute credit to the care industry. I would not hesitate in recommending them.

Mum was really well looked after during her time a Stanfield. The staff are genuinely kind and caring, and nothing is too much trouble. The home has a lovely, friendly atmosphere, and visitors are always made to feel welcome. I would thoroughly recommend Stanfield.

My mother was at Stanfield House for three and a half years. During her time there, she received excellent care. The staff are all lovely and friendly and genuinely care about the residents. The standard of care is very high, and I felt very reassured that my mother was being really well looked after.
I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Stanfield is run by private owners who understand and care for the needs of their residents.
The staff are unfailingly caring for the residents, who do a difficult job without any complaint.
After initial personal concerns about having to leave my dad in a care environment, he enjoyed being in Stanfield.
Prior to covid, everyone who visited was made welcome.

He particularly enjoyed his full cooked breakfast, which he often ordered late in the morning. He called it his ‘brunch’, which made everybody smile. Everyone at Stanfield Nursing Home provided excellent care for Mum as her dementia progressed. The care they provided was unfailingly professional, but most of all, loving. The home was made to feel like 'Mum's home', and we always felt welcome when we visited. We were able to feel more relaxed about
Mum, as we knew she was being as well looked after as was possible given her illness, which gave us peace of mind through a difficult time.

My father has been living at Stanfield Nursing Home since October 2018. At first, it was difficult for family members to accept the choice that Dad had independently made to leave his house and be cared for in a nursing home. Stanfield House was the first and only care organisation I visited to ensure
Dad would be well looked after and my brother and I agree we would not have found a better place for him.


I am constantly impressed with the openness of the leadership team, the calibre of the nursing and care team members, the catering and housekeeping staff - all of whom go out of their way to ensure Dad and the other residents' needs are respected.


I am also delighted that Stanfield Nursing Home has been recently been inspected by the Care Quality Commission and has been assessed as providing "Outstanding" care. Well done to you all.

My relative has been resident at Stanfield for almost a year now and I couldn't be happier with the care she is receiving. Within 2 days of her arrival, all the staff knew her name and chatted with her as if she had been there for ever. Stanfield really does feel like a family for residents and relatives.
There is always something going on for her to watch or join in. The staff are efficient of course but are also affectionate and kind. Her health had been declining rapidly before she went to Stanfield but the care she has received, especially with a particular health condition, has helped her improve greatly.
Of course, nowhere is perfect but any niggles are sorted quickly and effectively by the owner and the team.

My mother is well cared for and all staff seem to know her name. I am impressed by the hands-on management of the owner and by the high staff to resident ratio. The home has a variety of lounges and rooms to suit all needs and moods. My mother particularly enjoys the regular visits by the music man.

We count ourselves very fortunate to find this home when we needed it. Mum had an acute illness just before Christmas to compound her other symptoms. They took her in and cared for all of us with obvious love and compassion until she was ready to return home. The manage to treat each resident individually,
especially obvious in catering arrangements, observing likes and dislikes and acting upon them. There are several communal areas enabling choice and the gardens are superb, well tended with interesting planting - not just clipped bushes. All the staff, from the senior nurses to the carers, admin, cooks and household and entertainment are friendly and welcoming.

My brother and his wife were cared for at Stanfield Nursing Home from April until December this year. My brother passed away in August and I couldn't have asked for more compassion from the nursing staff. My sister-in-law has had a very happy time at Stanfield and she recently came out of hospital having
had a serious stroke just after Christmas, the nursing staff were so caring with her and so I am so grateful to them all. Her last months were very happy and they cared for her every need.

I visit Stanfield Nursing Home on a monthly basis to assist with prayers and the Deacon administers Holy Communion.
I have always found the staff polite and welcoming, who act in a caring and professional manner while engaging fully with the patients.

My wife has been resident at Stanfield now for 10 months and I couldn't be happier with the care she is receiving. She is suffering with frontotemporal dementia, which can be difficult to cope with. She is now calm and happy, every member of staff, without exemption, are so kind and caring toward her.
They have also helped me immeasurably with their professionalism and friendship to come to terms with putting my loved one into care. I am now proud to be part of the Stanfield family.

My mother came to Stanfield two months ago. She was not eating, drinking or walking, in fact, she spent most of her time asleep. Since being here, she is mobile with help, alert and eating and drinking. The welcome given to myself and family every time we visit makes me feel as if I am coming home.
The staff are very dedicated to everyone, residents and visitors. My family and I have felt at ease knowing how well looked after and loved by the staff and contended mum has become.

My relative arrived in March 2016, with UTI. She had lost the use of legs and was too weak to sit up. The improvement was rapid and she was soon sitting up and feeding herself. Had she not come to Stanfield, she would have died, for she had lost interest in life. Since arriving, she has responded to
the superb medical care and (above all) to being treated with respect and affection. The staff work as a happy team; a family inspired by exemplary, unstinting leadership. Staff selection seems inspired and the training thorough. However, at times, and especially afternoons, the large lounge can be difficult to oversee. There is never less than one carer on duty, but when two or three residents become restive, reserve staff have to be called in. It is then that things can get difficult and peripheral incidents missed. Stanfield is remarkably calm most of the time, an oasis of peace. However, more attention should be paid to appropriate stimulation. Commercial TV is not appropriate because of the (deliberately) over-stimulating adverts (flashing images and shouting voices). But whatever the programme (TV or radio), the volume should be controlled.
There is sometimes one particularly noisy resident whose behaviour disturbs everybody. Everyone deserves respect: not only the disrupter. This is the point about which I am most worried.

Judy

Judy Hillbrook

Job Title: Registered Manager

Joined: 2022

Judy Hillbrook joined Stanfield Nursing Home in October 2022 as our Clinical Lead working alongside all clinical staff to help provide a very high standard of care for all of our residents. In August 2023 Judy was promoted to the role of Registered Manager, and CQC have now completed their review and confirmed Judy as Registered Manager of Stanfield Nursing Home.


Judy completed her nursing training in Durban South Africa in 1981 and then completed her Midwifery training at Addington Hospital, South Africa in 1982 where she worked in the pre-natal unit and neonatal intensive care unit. During her vast career, Judy has worked as a senior professional nurse/sister in Coronary Care and theatre, as well as various Senior Ward Sister/Manager roles at hospitals in South Africa as well as Senior Professional Nurse (Senior Sister) in Intensive Care in Durban South Africa.


Judy came across to the UK to set up a home with her Husband and 2 sons.


Judy continued her career in nursing and worked as a Senior Professional Nurse/Theatre Practitioner/Anesthetic lead at the BMI Droitwich Spa Hospital before moving on to roles within the care home sector as Clinical Lead/Deputy Manager.


Judy’s own words – I am a professional registered general nurse, having entered nursing directly on completion of my school career in 1976. I have loved every minute of my nursing career, and I am confident to say that I was born to nurse. I am dedicated to my job and thrive on giving my best to my employer and most importantly my patients. I have worked in almost most areas of hospitals and have done my best to improve and update my skills continually.


We welcome Judy to her role as Registered Manager at Stanfield Nursing Home and we welcome her vast experience and expertise in the medical and clinical field

Richard White

Job Title: Home Owner/Director

Joined: 1987

Richard White purchased Stanfield Nursing Home in 1987 and is involved in the day-to-day running of the Home. In addition, he is one of Stanfield Nursing Home Ltd's Directors and the Nominated Individual for the Care Quality Commission (CQC).


His relevant qualifications are:


Richard White has a long history of working in Health, starting at John Conolly Hospital, Birmingham in a unit specialising in acute psychiatric admissions, he became Commissioning Officer for a new Intensive Therapy Unit at Corbett Hospital, Stourbridge followed by a period at West Bromwich and Dudley Road Hospital when he became Assistant District Support Services Manager for what is now City Hospital.


In 1978 a private hospital company appointed him, as Development Director and assigned him mainly to the Middle East for three years after which he became Managing Director and managed a portfolio of Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes in the U.K.; during this period, he also undertook work in the U.S.A. and South America. In 1986 he became Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O.) of Universal Health Services Inc. working in America and the U.K. developing activities of the company.


He left the corporate world to purchase Stanfield Nursing Home in 1987. Additionally, he is a Psychotherapist with a Practice in Worcester.
