Grandma had to move from a care home to Lady Forester Nursing Home at short notice. The meeting with the owner was reassuring and comprehensive. This is a professional organisation that is fully staffed, with highly experienced and competent staff. More than that, they want to be there and they care.
The rooms are large and bright and very cosy. The lounge is full of activities and things to do. There is a programme of activities, music and special events, including a fortnightly coffee morning.


But what is special is that in the short time, my mum has been here, she has visibly relaxed. She is alert at times and has even smiled. I see her spotlessly cared for and warm. She has had real food, not just shakes, even though it can take an hour to help her eat. Already a speech and language therapist has been to see her and a special chair has been bought so she can in future be moved into the lounge.
This move has been transformative for the whole family.

I would particularly like to thank the staff from the Philippines for their gentleness, respect for the elderly and unstinting helpfulness. This is in no way to denigrate the care and attention received from the other staff.

My husband has recently moved into Lady Forester Nursing Home.
The staff/carers are very polite and treat him with great care and dignity. So far all my requests regarding care have been followed.
There appears to be a good staff to resident ratio.
