Just wanted to commend the staff at St Anthony's Care Home. My friend was there for a period of time before his recent passing. The staff were always friendly, courteous and caring. I couldn't think of anything they could've done better in the time leading up to his passing, so grateful for everything
they had done for him. I can only say thank you and keep up the good work.

This place is awful, management lie. Meds given to suit their needs. My son was not bathed, lying in bed until 12 o'clock in a bed full of faeces and urine. Many occasions staff, 3 of them eating cake, talking very loudly in his room and totally ignoring him. There's so much to write but the one thing
I will say this place is dangerous. Reported to the council many times and about other residents, even staff have expressed how terrible this place is and how management are terrible. Avoid avoid avoid.

The team at St Anthony's are above and beyond maintaining dignity and care and providing a home for my husband.
They are always happy and cheerful and always welcomed by staff, and the change in my husband since being at St Anthony's - "brings tears to my eyes".
Thank you.

The core staff at St Anthony’s are absolutely brilliant. They do everything possible to look after and care for residents; they work very hard to make St Anthony’s a home from home with a real family feel. The rooms are excellent with en-suite facilities and patio windows to a private terrace and out
to beautiful grounds. The food is of a very high standard with lots of choices, and all of the kitchen staff are an absolute asset - they provide heart to the home and a central, vibrant hub. The activities staff work so hard with lots of creativity and clever ideas so that everyone, whatever their ability, can join in and are encouraged to do so. The home is spotlessly clean, and, again, the domestic staff do so much more than clean; they add to the family environment. The management and office staff are efficient and always on hand to answer any questions or requests from family.
In short, this is a wonderful sanctuary of safety and care. I would highly recommend this home.

Current Review Score: 5.9 (5.930)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 5.9 (5.930) out of 10 for St Anthony's is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 2.8 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 2.783 for St Anthony's is calculated as follows: ( (8 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) + (12 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 2.783

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.147 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Anthony's is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.8 = 0.147

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
