Hilderstone Hall care home provides care in a magnificent Grade II listed building set in nine acres of breathtaking grounds. They provide first-class 24-hour nursing and residential care alongside expert care for people with dementia in their Memory Lane Community. They are proud to be accredited as part of Barchester’s 10-60-06 Dementia Care Programme, reflecting the enhanced dementia care and improved quality of life experienced by residents here at Hilderstone Hall Care Home.

A team of highly-qualified and attentive staff really focuses on the individual needs of residents with a tailored care plan for each person. And their dedication can be seen across the board - in their cooking, hospitality and organised activities for residents.

Activities Co-ordinators are working with Help the Aged to plan fun and interesting activities for residents. Please feel free to pop in, have a go on the Nintendo Wii or take a stroll in the fresh air on the outdoor walkway.

Fantastic caring staff my Dad is very settled and happy. They accommodate his specific requests and facilitate regular communication for all of family
The building and gardens provide a beautiful serene environment to sit and watch the birds and changing of the seasons and is equally as beautiful
indoors the lounges and dining rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Overall I'm impressed with Barchester HQ and Hilderstone Hall. Polite and professional staff, nice home in pleasant grounds. Proactive engagement from initial enquiry through to moving in and now with ongoing care. Lots of interactive activities and the staff get to know those in their care is very
apparent. There'll always be some issues, it goes with the territory, but I've found the staff to be forward leaning and helpful and my Aunt appears settled and happy and cared for, which is something we are obviously pleased with. Thank-you

Called to see my sister today who has dementia, straight away I was greeted with a smile and when I said who I was here to see she said 'ohh birthday girl today', what a lovely touch! Then another lady said 'oh yes she's up, dressed and ready for her birthday do you know where to go?' There was a balloon
and a banner on her bedroom door and they said the chef was baking her a birthday cake. I then met a carer, what a lovely caring person, and another, both so pleasant and really interacted with my sister. She also speaks highly of another one of the other carers.
I really can't praise Barchester Hilderstone Hall and the wonderful staff enough. It's not nice having to put a family member in a home but I feel so happy knowing that she's cared for and so well looked after.

Undoubtedly, a well above average experience, especially in view that is based on a comparison with a previous care home (residential) for which I paid the same amount. All staff, management, nurses, carers etc. pass the test with flying colours with the exception of one individual which I am not allowed
to mention but should not be employed in this superb establishment but should be sacked.

Mum has lived at Hilderstone Hall Nursing Home for the past 18 months as a resident and the last few weeks in Memory Lane. The care from all staff has been outstanding. The warmth, kindness and quality of care is excellent and I always felt I could pop in anytime to see Mum. Mum participated in events,
meals out and celebrations at the home and always had a smile. Mum kept thanking me for choosing Hilderstone Hall.

My father and I visited 2 of the residents, one of whom was an old University friend of my father. We received a warm welcome from all of the staff at the home and they kindly arranged for us to join the resident for lunch. The lunch was very good and it was nice to be able to have more time to chat.

Living alone and unable to care for myself after having hip revision surgery, I chose to come here for respite care until I felt safe enough to go home.
My stay has been a pleasure - due to the caring nature of every member of staff who has treated me with dignity, understanding and respect.
The
environment is lovely and good for walking rehabilitation.

I have been a resident in Barchester Hilderstone Hall Care Home for six months. During that time, I have received excellent care and treatment for all my medical and physical conditions, together with kindness, respect and good humour. The staff have obviously received good training and respond well
to all of my requests for assistance.
The visiting doctor, nurses and physiotherapist have also provided me with good treatment and care.
My daughter is also a resident here as she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's years ago. She has received similar good care and treatment.
The accommodation is very comfortable, spacious and well cared for by the staff. The food is well prepared with suitable choices.
The monthly residents' meeting provides an opportunity for discussion of suggestions and they received responses and some appropriate action.
With such a wide range of physical and mental disabilities, I appreciate the organising of appropriate activities presents many difficulties. However, the programme of individual and small group activities for games, artwork with paints and felt pens and cookery preparation etc. has improved. The musical programme with outside performers has been well appreciated.

Everyone employed here, and I mean everyone, is so friendly, helpful and caring, nothing is too much trouble. All being patient, caring and understanding. It just takes a smile to make you feel good and I have received plenty of those, especially if I am having a bad day. The last place I ever wanted
to be was in a care home. Things happened so suddenly after I unexpectedly lost my husband, we had been together for more than sixty years. I am happy and content here.

My mum was on the Memory Lane wing of the home. Caring for people with dementia is a challenging task. The care staff are wonderful, kind and caring. I have often witnessed small acts of kindness and compassion between cares and residents when they are unaware of anyone watching. It is indeed a home,
although it looks like a five-star hotel. I couldn't be happier with the care Mum receives.

The staff are very kind, caring, professional and provide a genuine home-from-home environment for elderly people.
My mum did not want to come into care and me and my family did not want it either. However, the outstanding care

Hilderstone have been brilliant, they managed to get both of my parents into a room together on the day they were both been discharged from hospital. My parents spent 4 weeks together, when my father became very poorly, the home provided my mum with transport to see my father and offered to let him
come back for his final few days, but unfortunately he was too poorly to travel, so they helped Mum to visit and when my father passed away we had the funeral go from the hall. The staff were amazing, they helped to console my mum and to be fair a lot of the family too. I really don’t know how we would have coped without them. For us, a lot of things happened very quickly and totally unexpected, but they were completely amazing and continue to be.

Every time we visit our friend, the staff are always pleasant and friendly, and can’t do enough for you.
Our friend has settled in well. Hilderstone Hall is always clean, our friend's clothes are always clean and ironed, and tea/coffee and homemade cake are always on hand for visitors to us - cakes
are very yummy. Many activities during the week, and always welcome to join in with them. Staff keeps us up to date on what’s going on.

Beautiful location.
Happy to see some refurbishing taking place.
Overall, a pleasant and helpful care home. However, weekend staffing is very minimal and lacking attendance. Often lack of communication and details left unattended to.

My mum has been a resident at Hilderstone Hall since March 2023 and the care and attention she receives has been amazing. The carers and senior carer are absolutely wonderful and nothing is ever too much trouble for them plus they are genuinely loving towards the residents which is so comforting to
see.
The entertainment lady is the most amazing person and puts a smile on all the residents faces and ours! She's truly the type of person you would want to entertain your loved ones, she's absolutely brilliant!
The manager is also wonderful and so helpful and understanding of aspects of care.
Beautiful place and currently undergoing a refurb to make it even more stunning. If I could I would move in here myself.
Perhaps the only negative I could give is the extremely high cost for the stay here, think it would be helpful if it were on a scale of how much care each individual needs as Mum is completely mobile, can shower, dress and feed herself and only needs someone to give her tablets.

Hi, my name is Melanie and I am the General Manager here at Hilderstone Hall.


I have a wealth of experience in Social Care. I endeavour to ensure high standards are implemented to ensure that the home operates above the essential standards of quality and safety that respect the dignity and protect individual rights. I am passionate about making a difference to the residents who live with us, and that the home is run in the best interests of the residents.


I commenced employment in the Care Sector in 1987. During this time I have worked in a variety of roles. I started my career in Care as a Care Assistant, working my way up from a Care Assistant to a Registered Home Manager. I have been registered with the Care Quality Commission for the last 22 years. I have longevity of employment only having two employers for the last 30 years.

Hello, I'm Charlotte, the Deputy Manager at Hilderstone Hall. I joined the home in early 2024, initially as a Bank Nurse before progressing into the post of Deputy Manager.


I had previously visited Hilderstone Hall when working for the NHS as a Community Nurse and Practice Nurse and I was delighted to have the opportunity to work here. The home is stunning, I was drawn to the beautiful countryside setting and the Residents and staff here are remarkable.


I am a Registered General Nurse and have additional qualifications alongside my nursing degree in disease management, specialising in diabetes and respiratory conditions. I am passionate about encouraging and promoting high standards for the delivery of person-centred holistic care.


Outside of work, I am kept busy with my family, and my two pooches and I am a lover of holidays - I always make sure the next one is in the planning!

Hello, my name is Carrie, I have been in the care sector as a Home Administrator since 2006.


I joined Hilderstone Hall in April 2023, with a wealth of experience in administration roles including completing a NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.


My duties are the day-to-day running of the home, payroll, invoicing and contracts. I enjoy meeting and greeting relatives, residents and professionals, making time for everyone as I have an open-door policy.


The staff at Hilderstone Hall are all very welcoming and strive to give the best possible care which I am very proud to be a part of.

Hi, my name is Ellie and I am the Activities Co-ordinator here at Hilderstone Hall.


I joined the team in November 2024 having previously worked in hospitality and event planning. I am not new to working in healthcare - earlier in my career I trained and worked as a Care Assistant and obtained my NVQ Level 2 and Higher Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care.


I bring bags of energy and enthusiasm and I enjoy spending time with Residents, getting to know them individually, their personalities, likes and dislikes. Ultimately, this enables me to plan and deliver a tailored activities programme to suit their wants and needs.


I am also a qualified florist, which supports the creativity involved in the role and I can inspire Residents to participate in regular and new activities and events.


Outside of work, I am a Mum to my young Son, which keeps me busy! In my spare time my family and I enjoy getting out in the the fresh air for walks and there is usually a coffee and cake stop too!

Hi, I'm Rodney and I have been the Head Chef at Hilderstone Hall since September 2023.


I bring bags of experience and of course recipes from my expansive career as a Chef. I qualified from Guildford College London in 2003 and spent time perfecting my craft in a care home kitchen. I enjoy taking suggestions from Residents and making sure we are providing them with the food of choice as well as ensuring they have a healthy, balanced diet.


My favourite meal to cook is a good old-fashioned roast dinner with all the trimmings.


I have been married for many years, I attribute this to my excellent cooking! When I am not cooking up a storm in the kitchen, I enjoy food shopping and tinkering with electronics.

Hi, my name is Tania Lane, I joined Barchester in 2016. I started as a housekeeper and worked my way up to the position of Head Housekeeper. I take great pride in my work, I am so happy when residents really like how their rooms look and feel. I also love to talk to the residents while I’m cleaning their rooms. I aim to help residents remain as independent as possible. I also especially enjoy facilitating new families and future residents' show-around so that they can experience the home before moving in.
