Mum moved into Rider House on December 19th, the staff were very welcoming to her. The place is very clean, warm and cosy, she's settled really well. We now know she has 24-hour care from wonderful staff.

I would like to say a massive thank you to the manager and staff that went above and beyond for caring for my mum, she loved it there. They took her to hospital appointments and eye appointments. They always had a laugh with all the residents and through covid, they encouraged them to join in the activities.

A fantastic care home. The manager was so helpful in arranging for mum to transfer to Rider House and throughout her, six month stay the staff were so kind, friendly and supportive. Mum was looked after with dignity and thoughtfulness and when she became very frail, her needs were met by the lovely
carers. She had familiar faces around her day and night, and they were so kind to me too, during such a difficult time. It was such a relief knowing that she didn't need to go into hospital; the nurses in the home made sure she was comfortable and her treatment updated as necessary. She was always clean and nicely dressed, with the hairdresser, chiropodist and optician visiting. The cleanliness throughout is excellent and the home-cooked meals and cakes are top quality; it was lovely to know she was going to eat in the dining room and spend time with other residents over meals. For me, seeing her at the carol service, all wrapped up warm and gazing at Santa, confirmed I had made the best choice for mum.

It's reassuring that loved ones who require nursing care are looked after with love, dignity and respect. I have nothing but praise for the manager and staff who look after my mother and the other residents. Retaining staff over many years and rarely using temporary staff speaks volumes as to the working
environment at Rider. My mother is happy, well looked after and safe. When visiting, the home is always obliging on when we can meet, bedroom, garden or outside pods, and covid controls are still in place and adhered to with correct PPE being provided for visitors.

Fantastic care home which gives us all peace of mind given we live overseas and are not easily able to get back regularly. All staff seem to go above and beyond especially organising for us to call and video to speak with our granddad even with strange time zone differences. We visited the home in person,
recently and all staff were just as friendly in person and the facilities were very clean and all residents seemed very well cared for.

My nephew's illness means that as well as nursing care he needs understanding, patience and sensitivity all of which he gets at Rider House from all of the staff. He is settled there and loves his room. The staff are very caring, kind and attentive.

They are always very welcoming at Rider House Nursing Home. My husband is well cared for and the manager has gone above and beyond in all aspects of his care and family support.
Even though my husband is younger than most residents, they cater well for his age group and abilities.

Mum has been at Rider House since January 22 she seems to have settled in fairly well, her room is kept very clean and tidy bearing in mind mum has most of her meals in there. The staff seem to be kind and friendly towards mum and are adaptable to her needs, nothing is too much trouble, so all in all

Staff amazing, working at a difficult time (covid). The standard of care provided was excellent. Everything was made exceptionally more difficult due to having to be sterilised, washed down etc. My friend who is still a resident is very happy there.

Mum has been at Rider House since May 2021 following discharge from hospital and a previous awful stay at an assessment care home. Mum was very frail and in quite poor health when she arrived at Rider House, we had been told by the hospital that Mum’s life expectancy was not great, roll on a year later.
Thank you Rider House! Mum's physical and mental health is in a much better place, the dedicated team at the home have made such a difference to Mum’s quality of life, they are professional, they treat everyone with dignity and kindness, nothing is too much trouble. The home is clean and tidy and the gardens are immaculate, Mum spends a lot of time outside when the weather permits. As a visitor (almost every day!) I am always made to feel very welcome. I have nothing but praise for the manager and the whole team.

I came from New Zealand to see my dad. The welcome was outstanding, and I felt welcomed straight away. The manager is the most open, caring and professional person I have dealt with. She has gone over and above anything I could want, and the staff there are excellent. I am confident that my dad is being
cared for, and they keep me up to date with his progress. He loves the outings as well. Thank you so much, you guys; you are outstanding.

Mum went in Ryder House just before Easter, she was very reluctant to go into care but agreed to respite. Now mum is very settled, happy and has made the decision to stay, something we never thought she would do, that’s down to the very friendly and attentive staff, they have been wonderful with Mum,
settling her in and helping her adjust.

Dad has only been at Rider House for a few weeks but we can already see a huge improvement both mentally and physically in him. The staff are very friendly and helpful and there are always plenty of staff around. Everwhere is clean and well maintained. Wish we have found this home sooner.

I was in a bad state of mind this time last year, so I think it was my lucky day when I ended up at Rider House. I find all of the staff here very helpful and there is no one to dislike and nothing much to complain about.

Mum's care home was closing down. Given very short notice. Mum has advanced dementia, 92, sweet, loving, happy, tactile, fun, acquiescent and calm lady: no 'challenging behaviour' problems. Highly vulnerable. English is not her native language. Unable to speak but needs love, reassurance, and staff
who can 'read' her and anticipate her needs, give her their time and fuss over her, within a very calm environment. She also misses her garden. Very hard to find. Rider House Nursing Home, situated in lovely gardens and mature trees/private parkland, under the management of the Manager and her team of highly dedicated staff, tick all the boxes. No screaming alarms to disturb my mum who hates noise. Massively grateful, in the full knowledge that mum is so very well cared for and clearly content. I live quite a distance away and am unable to visit regularly, so I ask for photos and call for regular updates on mum's care, all of which are forthcoming. Home clean and mum always clean.

"I have worked at Rider House since December 2018. During this time, I have seen immense changes at Rider House, supported by the management team and the wonderful, caring staff that Rider has. This ensures that we always strive to be the best we can, providing the love and care that we all work hard to achieve and is expected from our residents, their families, and our supportive community.
I have worked as a registered nurse for over 40 years and have never had second thoughts about my chosen career path. After initially qualifying I worked in general medicine, progressing to oncology, chemotherapy, palliative and EOL care nurse specialist. This career progression enables me to provide the best care we can for all residents regardless of their needs and ill health, ensuring that they are supported to live as well and happy as they deserve. I am constantly seeking to get the best from the staff, but in a manner that recognises their value and worth so that their enthusiasm and genuine care helps us all to achieve our intended aims.”
