I would have no hesitation but to recommend Rider House to anyone who needs to find a nursing home for an elderly or ailing relative or friend.


Mum lived at Rider House from August 2017 to January 2018 when she sadly passed away. The whole staff are very dedicated to caring for their residents.
The

carers do a fantastic job, treating their ladies (or gents I'm sure!) with respect and consideration - taking time to ensure that they have done all they can to make them comfortable, clean and where necessary, feeding them with great patience.


The whole team at Rider House from management, carers, cleaners, kitchen ladies and handymen have a wonderful, friendly approach to the residents and their families and friends. Congratulations to you all on making Rider House the warm, caring environment it is.

My mother-in-law has been in Rider House for 2 years. Over this time I have been really impressed by the warmth, caring, kind friendliness and professionalism of the staff.


When she was very ill recently and admitted to hospital from the home one member of staff accompanied her to the hospital and

stayed with her despite it being several hours past the end of shift but she waited till my sister-in-law arrived at the hospital. Please thank her.


My mother-in-law with the help and quality care provided by Rider House has made a remarkable recovery to a point where she again enjoys her food, her sense of humour has returned and her dignity has been respected.

My mum spent six months in Rider House.
She was excellently looked after.
I visited her every day.
The staff were very good, caring and kind.
I would recommend this care home to anyone.
Sadly mum passed away in June. The staff on duty that night were amazing.

I was very unsure how my mom was going to react as she has never wanted to end up needing to be looked after, but after a couple of hours, a very rocky start, that all changed. The staff here are so friendly, kind and have made her so very very welcome. My mom is deaf so needs things to be written down
which is what happens and they have found their own way of communicating which has made her the happiest I have seen her for many years. She is even eating well which she has also not done for years, hence her getting weaker and weaker. So what I can say, which also comes from my husband, brother and sister in law, is a very big well done and thank you so much for your help and kindness to my mom and indeed myself at such a difficult time.

My mum lived at Rider House from July 2011 until her death in September 2016. She was always treated with great respect and dignity. In spite of her sometimes being "difficult" (impatient on her part) the care staff were wonderful - patient and caring. Since her death, I have volunteered at Rider House
especially Friday afternoons (bingo caller) and at special activities (Christmas and summer fairs etc). It is my way of thanking them all at Rider House for their care of mum.

My sister has been a resident of Rider House for almost 5yrs now and in that time as she has got older and frailer, the staff have shown her the respect, care and attention that the dedicated carer's give at Rider House. My sister is now totally bed bound and unable to do anything for herself so from
being quite active to now, I can honestly say that I cannot thank them enough for the excellent job that they do.

Mum has been cared for at Rider House following a stroke 2 years ago. The care that she receives is excellent and nothing is too much trouble. The staff are extremely friendly, caring and supportive, to both mum and her family, and we are always made to feel welcome and included. All of the staff spent
time with her and have a thorough knowledge of her requirements. We are regularly updated on her personal care plan and any changes are discussed with us and we know that we can ask any questions at any time and will always get an answer.
Mum's personal care needs are taken care of in a manner that means she is comfortable, clean and maintains her dignity.
The bedroom was a blank canvas when she arrived and we were encouraged to bring personal things, including pictures and photographs, from home to make the bedroom her own. The home is always kept clean and smelling fresh and the laundry never seems closed!
We could not wish for better. Excellent care from a dedicated staff.

My husband stayed at Rider House earlier in the year and has just had another week's stay respite. Both times my husband has been very well looked after, 5-star nursing companionship.
With various chronic illnesses, the duty of care has been first class and all his needs met from the manager, assistant
to all care staff.
The home is pleasant and clean, it's being gradually refurbished.
I find them all helpful in all matter and they all seem to work together as one big team.
Very happy.

"I have worked at Rider House since December 2018. During this time, I have seen immense changes at Rider House, supported by the management team and the wonderful, caring staff that Rider has. This ensures that we always strive to be the best we can, providing the love and care that we all work hard to achieve and is expected from our residents, their families, and our supportive community.
I have worked as a registered nurse for over 40 years and have never had second thoughts about my chosen career path. After initially qualifying I worked in general medicine, progressing to oncology, chemotherapy, palliative and EOL care nurse specialist. This career progression enables me to provide the best care we can for all residents regardless of their needs and ill health, ensuring that they are supported to live as well and happy as they deserve. I am constantly seeking to get the best from the staff, but in a manner that recognises their value and worth so that their enthusiasm and genuine care helps us all to achieve our intended aims.”
