We always find the home so welcoming and the staff always welcome you. The care mum receives is 2nd to none. She is always clean, happy well fed and the food she has is restaurant standard. Mum has vascular dementia and can be quite difficult at times but staff are so patient and caring and good with
her. The manager Ryan always has time to listen to any worries we have and always finds a solution to help. The nursing staff and carers are also wonderful as well. Couldnt ask for better care or a home for Mum. It's so much a home-from-home.

Reply from Ryan Wall, Home Manager at Wheaton Aston Court

Thank you for your feedback. I will ensure that this is shared across the whole team. I'm really glad that Mum continues to enjoy her time here at home.

Mum has now been at Wheaton Aston Court for sixteen months and there is not a day that goes by when I do not count my blessings having found a care home that looks after Mum so well, giving her the dignity and respect she deserves.
Even though her memory is now not at all what it was, she is facilitated
to join in with the other residents for activities and meals.
She is very happy at Wheaton Aston Court, well cared for, safe and I am very grateful to the amazing staff who do a brilliant job.
My husband's parents are also in a care home in a different part of the country and the experience he has had has shown me that I have found a true gem for mum. Thank you.

This care home is really as good as the reviews make it out to be. Head and shoulders above the rest. It wasn't ever going to be easy for my dad putting Nan into a care home. When it came down to it there was only one place that she wanted to go, that was Wheaton Aston Court. As soon as you step through
the door, you get a welcoming feeling and it doesn't smell. I would feel sorry for people that didn't consider this home when they were looking for their family. The hard work and dedication from everyone in there is amazing. It certainly takes a lot to devote so much time and attention to people. A real sense of caring. Thanks for everything you do for Nan.

To the team at Wheaton Aston from all the family, just to say a huge thank you for everything they've done for Mum in the weeks she spent with them. I called on the Saturday with an urgent request for care and we were invited to visit on the Monday. Within two days, they had a room ready for Mum, and
we got her there on the Wednesday. It was a huge relief for us to know that Mum was in a safe environment with 24/7 care and although Mum struggled at first with not being able to go home, they made her feel so welcome and we saw a positive change in her after just a few weeks. The whole team have been brilliant, so thank you. It was exactly what Mum needed and their support for our family was much appreciated, at a time when we needed it most.

Moving mom into care from her own home was the biggest decision of our lives. Mom's health is deteriorating and I needed to find her somewhere that would support her with any specialised care she would need for the future. Wheaton Aston Court ticks every box for us. The location is beautiful, in the
middle of the countryside with the right amount of residents, which allows for more personalised care. The staff throughout the team are all amazing. Nothing is ever a problem. The support and care for mom are second to none. She has her own room with a tv if she wants to rest looking over the gardens, or she can join in the daily entertainment. It's totally up to her what she does, the home is very relaxing. For me, this has been very traumatic, but staff are all there for support and guidance when needed and I feel that a massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders, knowing that Mom is safe, fed, warm and loved. The time I have with Mom now is precious, we can be Mom and Daughter again.

Mum recently passed away at the home. My brother and I live at some distance from the home, and the staff were wonderful at keeping us involved in her care. Mum was cared for so well and respected at all times - thank you. Above and beyond care at all times!

Dad came to Wheaton Aston a year ago during Covid lockdown and he had settled amazingly well. Dad had a lot to overcome and has done so well. He is safe, warm and eating well which was a major concern previously. The staff are very friendly and helpful and have done amazingly well to facilitate visiting.
Well done everyone at the home you are the true heroes.

Grandma has been at Wheaton Aston now for nearly four years and she absolutely loves it there. Always great to see a smile on her face in all of the photos posted by the home. She always seems to be involved with all the activities that take place there. I only have good things to say about the staff
and the home. Thanks for everything you do for Grandma.

Mum has been at Wheaton Aston Court for just over a year and the care she has received has been outstanding. All the staff work extremely hard to provide the absolute best for the residents. We are so grateful that she is so well cared for and we are thankful to everyone who works so hard to maintain
such a high level of care. Over the last six months, we have seen a dramatic change in the activities. They really are in a class of their own, with the thought and effort that goes into everything the residents get up to. We’ve been able to follow all these updates on the home's excellent Facebook page. Thank you, everyone.

My Mum spent several weeks in Wheaton Aston after she fell and broke her ankle. She received excellent care from the manager and his entire team along with all the staff, were so caring and they always made my Mum smile. It was the most difficult time right in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic but
the level of care continued throughout and the exceptional kindness which we as a family are so grateful for.

The shared online photos and the video calls that have been facilitated are testaments to the extra mile that staff go to provide a wonderful environment for Dad. He has had a lovely Christmas. As a family, we feel so lucky that dad lives in such a special place where all of his needs are met and where
staff genuinely care. He engages in a variety of planned activities that are fun and most beneficial in a happy and positive atmosphere.

We are very impressed by the kindness and the care that has been given to our mother here. The manager and his team have truly been wonderful. The love and compassion shown during our mother's last days spent at Wheaton Aston Court could not have been more special. I would not hesitate to recommend
this home to anyone looking for care on any level.

I can only say that I'm delighted my brother has had such an amazing experience since moving into Wheaton Aston Court. The staff all care for my brother extremely well. Even though he moved in over a year ago now, he still speaks to me or another member of the family every day, telling us all the great
things he's been up to. The staff here really do go above and beyond. Just glad that my brother is having a great time.

I cannot praise the management and the staff enough for taking in a dear friend during an emergency situation. A very caring group of people, very kind and very helpful. My friend is very happy there, which truly puts my heart at rest. I know that her family living in New Zealand are also extremely
grateful for everything that has been done. We are all loving the Facebook page, it shows what a tremendous job everyone is doing. Thank you all so very much for what you are doing.

My mother is always well presented, even first thing in the morning. She's recently been working on a phased return to standing following a fall she had at home. I speak regularly to Mum on the phone, and it's nice to not just talk about Coronavirus, but about how her day has been. We often talk and
video chat so she can see her cat 'Captain'. Although the building backs onto farmland, the perimeters of the property are safely secured, and that's a great peace of mind living out in the country. With this pandemic showing no sign of going away and with my son recently dislocating his knee, I'm safe in the knowledge Mum is well looked after, happy and making some great pals.

My mom is very happy here. The staff do an amazing job of making sure everyone is very well looked after even during difficult times. Mom talks to me and the grandkids every day about what she gets up to. We still feel included in her life, which is nice. Would highly recommend this home.

Wheaton Aston is as close to perfect as I could have hoped for. I could never have carried on caring for my wife in the way these staff do. My wife had a series of health problems and spent a substantial amount of time in New Cross. Since coming to Wheaton Aston she’s found a new sense of life again.
Sincerely they do and incredible job.

This home really looks after my father with the very best care and attention during a very difficult time. I can only thank every single member of staff for the way they've looked after Dad. Up until lock-down the outdoor visits were really special for me and my dad. The home is excellent in every aspect.
Thank you.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.667)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.667) out of 10 for Wheaton Aston Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 5.000 for Wheaton Aston Court is calculated as follows: ( (36 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.667 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Wheaton Aston Court is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 36 registered maximum number of service users is 7.2. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.2 = 0.417

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
