I chose Cherry Trees for my dad as they had previously lovingly cared for Mum. At exceptionally short notice (same day), they accommodated my father, who urgently required 24/7 palliative care/end-of-life support.
Dad's care is/remains exceptional; he is extremely comfortable in Cherry Trees and enjoys
his large room with south facing aspect and garden view. The staff constantly involve me in any decision-making relating to Dad's medicines/care, always considering what's best for him to ensure he is comfortable.
The 'Young at Heart' floor is clean, light, bright, airy and modern. The rooms are all large, and the staff are plentiful. Dad enjoys many a happy moment relaxing in the deluxe spa bath with bubbles covering the entire floor!
Whilst I can't name everyone, I do want to personally highlight the main team, who are caring for Dad and supporting me; plus it would be remiss of me not to recognise the daily welcoming, smiling faces of those on reception.

After fighting for over a year to get my mom out of this place, she's so much happier. Cherry Trees need more training to deal with people with dementia, they would rather sedate them than deal with them, they are not honest with you, they tell you what you want to hear and then do the opposite. If
you have an LPA for a resident here good luck with getting paperwork from them, I was refused paperwork for the whole 2 years my mom was there. The home is poorly run and the staff back the general manager with lies, the cleanliness of the place needs 100% improvement.
My mom was neglected, her room was disgusting and the smell of faeces as you enter from the lift is disgusting.
I would advise not putting a family member in this care home.

My mum is 88 with Parkinson's, poor eyesight (macular degeneration) and is frail but alert, with a great personality and sense of humour. She went into Barchester Cherry Trees Care Home apprehensively for an initial week's respite stay to give my father (principal carer at home) a break and we are likely
to repeat this with further respite breaks before a more permanent move. The carers and nursing staff were excellent (as were the catering and office support staff) and cared so well for my mum throughout but also engaged with her actively and got her involved with relevant activities and chatting with other residents. One of the nurses phoned to let me know she had detected a urine infection but had already called the doctor and arranged for antibiotics for Mum. We couldn't have asked for more and I have no hesitation in recommending Cherry Trees based on our experience - the carers and nurses were fantastic throughout and truly cared and that was reflected in the tailored approach they took.

Very pleasant home and surroundings. The staff are very kind to my mother. The staff are very happy and cheerful. The facilities are good. Mother does say food is not very good, I can't honestly say if that's true. I need to sample food to give an accurate impression.

Cherry Trees is well led by an able manager whose organizing principle is the pursuit of excellence in all CQC standards. A very good staff team, some outstanding, are directed to treat each resident as a V.I.P. entitled to expect the same level of care and support as if they were living in their own
home; to deliver, with empathy and respect for dignity, care centred on the needs of each resident. The manager is generous in her praise of staff who demonstrate leadership and consistent best practice care procedures as a matter of instinct. This recognition is important in a setting where family members want to feel confident that their loved one can rely upon outstanding care when suffering the debilitating effects of physical and mental illness. The manager emphasizes this expectation and encourages staff to pursue personal development training to enhance effective care delivery, and further their career possibilities. In turn, staff are well motivated, polite and cheerful.

My mother has been at Cherry Trees for a number of years. Mother has full capacity and did not wish to leave her home but understands that this cannot be the case and so Cherry Trees is the best option. On admission, my mother had a grade 4 pressure sore and with the care and attention of the staff
this has now totally healed and her skin remains intact to date. It's not easy to have to make these decisions but the ambience and surroundings give an uplift to myself and those that visit. The interaction of the staff with myself and Mum is dignified, communication at times could have been improved through the lockdown but the team listen to my concerns and a response is always given.
Improvements have been made; may these continue.

My stepmother has now been in residence at the Cherry Trees Alcester for the past four years. I have absolutely no reservations in stating that Mother is always treated with care, respect and dignity. I always find the staff, without exception, cheerful, caring and professional, from the visible 'front
of house' nurses and carers to the 'backroom' team of unsung heroes of housekeeping, chefs, admin and estate maintenance, all well led by an able and sympathetic management team.
When issues very occasionally arise, they always receive a prompt response.
Mum is extremely happy at Cherry Trees; she has nil mobility, and is extremely well cared for and enjoys the food immensely.
Finally, I must congratulate the staff on the home environment; the home is clean and airy, and the gardens are beautifully kept, like a five-star hotel, and the many thoughtful activities providing stimulus to the residents are first rate!

My mother-in-law has been a resident here for three and a half years, for the first year and a half with my father-in-law. The service and care given is fantastic. The staff and mamangement clearly care about all their residents and go above and beyond to make sure they all feel like it is their home.
The activities that are available everyday are varied, fun and imaginative and you can see from the residents faces that they thoroughly enjoy themselves. There are also weekly trips out which can be enjoyed by everyone. The management team are friendly and approachable and will go out of their way to help. Would highly recommend Cherry Trees.

My sister has been a resident at Cherry Trees for approximately three years, originally with my brother-in-law before his death a couple of years ago. She has dementia but is settled there and happy. The current staff are excellent, there are regular activities for the residents, and they always seem
to be up to some sort of fun. I know my sister takes part and really enjoys herself. She loved her garden and spends time outside; it seems as though nothing is too much trouble when the resident’s welfare is concerned. Thank you, Cherry Trees, for making her life so comfortable.

My dad has been up on Memory Lane at Cherry Trees for just over a year, having been moved from a care home in Cornwall. Getting the council to agree that he should be near his family proved to be far more challenging than we ever imagined, but the manager was available to support us at the many multi-disciplinary
meetings that it took to get this done. We were told that his behaviour was too challenging for Cherry Trees to cope with and that the journey alone, would shorten his life. I am pleased to say that not only he is still with us, but he is thriving, as much as he can with advanced dementia, under their exemplary care. There have been no issues with any challenging behaviour, and as a non-clinical end-of-life care trainer myself, I know what great care looks like. Cherry Trees is it. There are activities every day, and the team does their absolute best for the residents and their families. I am always made to feel like I am part of the Cherry Trees team every time I go.

My husband spent just two weeks respite at Cherry Trees and came home with serious pressure sores. He had no sign of pressure sores anywhere on his body as a body check was carried out at home prior to admission. A district nurse and his carers at home can testify to that. No one from the home contacted
me during his stay to say that there was a problem at any time. Nearly three months later the heels are still being treated and have yet to heal. I have contacted the home and Barchester head office several times and have been fobbed off, I have never received an explanation let alone an apology.

We arranged an outside visit for three adults and one child, aware that this would mean the use of a 'pod' in the event of poor weather. On arrival (we were prompt), staff did not seem to be aware that a visit was booked (this has been a feature of most of our visits) and it was several minutes before
the bell was answered. We were then advised that an external pod was now in use for such visits. On arrival at this pod, we found the power was not connected. It has no external windows so it was dark and cold, and no one knew how to connect the power. Your staff arrived with our relative about 15 minutes after our arrival and was inadequately protected in view of the poor weather. I had to return to reception three times to get someone to switch the power on, which eventually happened about 40 minutes after our arrival. With no staff immediately available, we brought our relative back to her room as she was shivering, and had to wait in the rain at the gate as we were given the wrong access code.

Mum has been a resident for three years now, initially with my father up until his death. Mum is very settled and happy which is due to the excellent care she receives. All the staff are kind and caring and she has a good relationship with them all. Activities are available every day and mum joins in
and enjoys them all. Since the new Manager and her team took over Cherry Trees has become a more vibrant happy place and nothing is too much trouble.

Now that my mother has settled into Cherry Trees and we as a family are adjusting to her being in residential care, I can not praise the Manager and her team enough. They have worked so hard to build a caring and supportive relationship with my mother who, in fairness due to her MND, has quite demanding
and complex needs. Everyone within the Cherry Trees team has worked so hard to meet our expectations, provide support and reassurance and to facilitate all of the external health professional visits needed. The home itself is comfortable, welcoming and of a high standard. I feel confident that my mother is well cared for and feeling more at ease within her new surroundings. I would add that, as a frequent visitor, the team are always patient, helpful and welcoming to me personally as well which provides great reassurance.

My dad has only been on Memory Lane since the end of December 2021. However, during this short period of time, the care he has received has been outstanding. The home has a very friendly atmosphere and there is always someone available to speak to me when I visit. The decision to move dad to a nursing
home was emotionally difficult but I know it was the right decision and that he is being extremely well looked after.
I did have a few issues with getting dad into care at first but have to say the Manager, has been exceptional.
It's not easy having a parent in care and relying on other people to look after them but I know dad is in the best possible place and will receive the best care possible.

From the very first call I had with Barchester Cherry Trees Care Home I knew my mother was in safe hands.
Following a terrible leg infection and a bad previous experience from another care home. All staff members have been without doubt to ensure that all possible care has been taken to make my mothers
recovery as comfortable as possible. The quality of care is exceptional and everyone always finds the time to chat and nothing is too much trouble. A real home from home.

Debbie Osborne

Job Title: General Manager

Joined: 2019

Having initially joined Cherry Trees as the Head of Care. After a career in teaching and caring for children, my promotion to General Manager of Cherry Trees Care Home has enriched my passion for ensuring our resident's specific care and nursing needs are met and are the core of the wonderful work the team does here.


Staff training and development is of the utmost importance to me, as a qualified trainer for Barchester Healthcare, I ensure that our team are up-to-date with the latest research, policies and best practices, so that I can enhance the quality of care delivered throughout the home.


I am committed to the delivery of person-centred care and focus on what residents can do, not what they can't. I promote independence and well-being and consider working in this sector to be a privilege, not a job.


I am dedicated to ensuring the delivery of high-quality care by my team and endeavour to create happiness amongst residents at Cherry Trees.

I have over 20 years of experience in Administration, having previously worked for a Domiciliary Care provider. I work behind the scenes making sure that things run smoothly for residents, their families and staff members. I am very pleased to be part of the Cherry Trees team.

I am the Clinical Lead on the Memory Lane Community. I am originally from Northern Ireland and moved to England 12 years ago. I qualified as a nurse in 2015 and worked in a hospital acute medical assessment unit and then as a District Nurse. I joined Cherry Trees as a Bank nurse in 2020 and quickly decided that I wanted to stay.
I love working with the residents on Memory Lane and hope to continue caring for them for a long time to come.

I am the Clinical Lead of the Young at Heart Community. I am originally from Poland where I qualified as a nurse and worked for 24 years in hospitals. I came to the UK in 2006 and have continued to work in a range of clinical nursing roles. I joined Cherry Trees in 2019 as an RGN on nights before I was promoted to Clinical Lead.

My name is Anish, I am the clinical Lead Nurse on Young at heart. I’m originally from India and moved to England in 2023. I’ve worked in both NHS hospitals and private hospitals in India and in Muscat.
I am very passionate about my job and really enjoy being a clinical lead Nurse here at Cherry Trees. I love working with our residents on young at heart and look forward to continuing the care for them for a very long time. Staff here are all very supportive and I’m very happy in my job.

I started at Cherry Trees a few years ago and as second head chef and now have been offered the head chef position, so was delighted to accept. I have many years of head chef experience in very different backgrounds and looking forward to being here in the foreseeable future.

I joined Cherry Trees in March 2023. My whole life has been working in the care sector and now as lead activity coordinator, I absolutely love my role here. I have a real passion to enrich the lives of our residents and make them as special as they can be. I really love to see the faces of our residents when we make these ideas we have come to life, it’s just a magical and rewarding job and I can honestly say I’ve found my forever home

I have been with Cherry Trees for over 6 years and love working with residents and the team. I work alongside contractors, and I have learnt many new skills during my time with Barchester, which has developed my role in maintaining and developing Cherry Trees. I am always very positive and ready to help others, and I don’t like to stay still. I really enjoy being busy and I am always smiling.
