It is so important that our residents do not lose their sense of self-identity, this can manifest itself in their appearance, how they have their hair, styles they like to wear and make-up they could not be without, similarly being able to carry on and participate in activities that may have been a mainstay in life or maybe something new is so important to make sure every day is the best it can be. Our staff really are passionate about providing great care, hospitality and service here at Galanos House where our residents choose to live, we have the privilege of coming to work in their home. Thank you so much, it is never an easy decision to make moving a loved one into a care environment, always fraught with mixed emotions and thoughts, I am so glad we have been able to help, glad to hear the transition has affirmed your hopes. Essentially it is a change of address and a chance to move forward with life embracing new opportunities, making new friends and living every day to the full. This gives family and friends a chance to enjoy a more fulfilling relationship where they are not having to worry about supporting but rather planning and enjoying experiences together. That is lovely to hear, we do encourage families to visit whenever they would like. Life can be so busy it is important that you feel able to pop by when you get a moment. It is extremely important to us that our residents are always the best they can be, personal appearance is so important and can often define characters. When residents join us we have extensive information on their likes and dislikes; styles or preferences, preferred name or how they like to be addressed making their care a bit more personal-centred and relevant to them. Job Title: Registered Manager
Joined: 2003
Jo-Anne became the Registered Manager of Galanos House in 2003. Since then she has made a difference in not only the lives of many residents, but also staff members past and present, volunteers, and all the friends that come through the doors of Galanos House.
Jo-Anne was presented with an MBE by His Majesty King Charles III in February 2023; in addition to this, Jo-Anne holds the title of Queen's Nurse and sits on many boards including the Quality Matters board, the Task and Finish group for the RCN, and is the chair of the South Warwickshire Registered Managers Network for Skills for Care.
