Newlands is situated in the town of Kenilworth, close to a variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and the castle. Newlands is only a short drive away from the larger town of Leamington Spa and the historic town of Warwick, providing a range of shops, activities and places to visit.

Designed into three small households, all situated on the ground floor, each household has a lounge and dining area, with a kitchenette where people can make their own snacks and drinks, or cook a full meal if they choose. The home benefits from a jacuzzi spa and wellness area for physical exercise, and has a number of outdoor seating areas.

There is an atmosphere that encourages friendship and socialising in a homely and welcoming environment. Residents can take part in the daily living routines of their home if they want to, such as shopping, cooking, gardening and a variety of leisure activities. There is a small domestic laundry room for residents who prefer to do their own washing. The home has its own minibus to take residents on trips both locally and further afield.

My dad was in Newlands for a couple of months respite care. I was initially worried how he would cope in a care home but he was absolutely fine and I was pleased with how he was looked after. Staff were lovely and friendly and made us feel welcome on visits. We were kept well informed through the portal.
Lots of activities and outings to get involved in if he wished. I found the staff really motivational for him to get on do his physio! Thank you guys.

I have been visiting my friend at Newlands for over 10 years. Throughout this time I have been so impressed with the friendly, professional nature of the staff. Whenever any issues have arisen I have been able to sit down with the care home manager, and they have been dealt with promptly and efficiently.


The

care home retains a high number of staff which has greatly helped my friend, and his family and friends, build up a great rapport with carers and managers alike. This close relationship has proved particularly important during this challenging Covid-19 crisis.

I am very happy with the way my father has been treated over the last year. He is well looked after, and all the staff are nice.
The food is excellent.
I could not recommend this home more, the care home manager is always welcoming and addresses any concerns made straight away, if it was not for
her, Newlands would not be the way it is in my opinion.

This care home is just brilliant; they are always looking out for everyone within the care home be that members of the family of their service users and the service users directly. Throughout the whole COVID19 situation, they have been keeping in regular touch to keep us updated with how our little
man is getting on and letting us know how he is getting on medically and as a general service user. They always ensure that he socialises with other service users and that he gets his individual chill out time as well throughout the days and weeks he has been there. Our little man has always been a regular daycare visitor at other daycare centres where we used to live, and he has improved leaps and bounds since becoming a service user at the Newlands care home.

My brother is in the home, and he is looking better each time I see him. Great staff, great treatment and care, very capable, caring staff. Couldn't ask for better people to be in charge of my brothers care.

Having been a regular visitor to Newlands over the last 5 years I am constantly impressed by the level of care and attention the staff give to the residents. From personal care with dignity and respect to tailoring rooms and activities to individuals needs and abilities. Care is at the heart of what
they do, together with encouraging independence and making it as much of a home as is possible whilst catering for a wide variety of disabilities. There is always a cheerful welcome. Staff are always polite and treat residents with respect. There is a lot of laughter which says much. In addition, the food always smells delicious and looks appetising. Meals are fresh and there is plenty of choices, not something you can say about all home.

My sister has been living at Newlands care home for around over 2 years they provide the best sort of care and best reassurance to the residents. It is such a warm and homely environment we are privileged to have our sister at Newlands home. The home manager provides the best support and the facilities

My relative has been at Newlands for many years. He has a good relationship with the staff who are very caring towards him. The staff are always very helpful, approachable and friendly when I visit.
On my last visit, it was reassuring to see the infection control measures that had been put into place
for Covid. In addition, the planning that is currently taking place, for future visiting in these uncertain times, has been well thought out.

My relative has been a resident at Newlands for the past 10 years and has always been well looked after and cared for. He is extremely happy there and would not want to move anywhere else. The staff are helpful and friendly and interact well with both residents and their families and friends. I cannot
praise the Home Manager too highly - she is always prepared to discuss and act upon any concerns we may have. The food is freshly prepared on the premises and there is always a choice available.

Bonnie Burbury

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2000

I’m the Home Manager for Newlands and have been with WCS Care for over 20 years.


I started at Newlands as an Enabler/Carer for a year, before learning more about care delivery and leadership as a Senior Enabler. After returning from maternity leave, I developed my frontline experience as a Night Enabler before overseeing and leading our resident-focused care as Care Co-ordinator, Deputy Home Manager and then Home Manager.


What I love about being at WCS are the connections I've had with many of our residents. I’ve been at Newlands ever since joining, so I’ve been able to build special relationships with the people we’ve been caring for over the years.


I also love making sure my team are happy and aware I'm always there to listen and support them when needed.


Outside of work, I like going to festivals with my son, relaxing in nature and baking special occasion cakes for friends and family.
