I would definitely recommend this home for anyone considering a loved one to be in nursing care.
The best care was given to my mum and the support given to ourselves while my mum is here on palliative care really is appreciated.
The staff are amazing and the hospitality shown to us all by the staff
and management was first class.
The home is very beautiful and is very clean and tidy. You can personalise the rooms with bedding curtains, flowers cushions etc which made the transition from her home to hospital then to care a little less traumatic for everyone concerned as it was things from home for our loved one and as for the home manager nothing is a problem and as a relative, this management team were amazing in answering any concerns we had in relation to mums condition.
Although we didn’t have much to do with other parts of the house I can honestly say Memory lane is beautifully fitted out with pictures and memorabilia and provides top-class care for a loved one.

My mom although terminally ill has been looked after with the highest quality care. The staff are wonderful and cannot do enough for her.

It is only now that I put pen to paper, following the death of our beloved mum in October 2021. After looking after mum in her bungalow for several weeks she deteriorated and was admitted to the nursing home. There was no double that mum was loved and cared for by all the staff. Standards of care were
second to none! The staff were very friendly, professional and listened to mum and family. Management Fantastic!

Mum had 3 separate stays with Overslade. She was always happy to be with you she had such exemplary care and you showed such genuine love and support to mum and her family. She wanted to die at home or Overslade but not in hospital and she died with you surrounded by her family. We miss her dearly but
thank you for all her care and compassion especially at end of life.

Excellent stay for a very dear friend of mine after a 4 week stay in hospital. We visited the home first and were very impressed with the friendliness and cleanliness of the home. The manager and all her staff were amazing and couldn't do enough to make my friends stay enjoyable. I would recommend Overslade

Compassionate, dignified care of my father from hospital discharge until his death.

My mother was a patient in Overslade House Care Home for two and a half weeks in July. She was admitted from the hospice for end-of-life care. She was treated with such care, consideration and kindness by all the staff.

My mother's 80th birthday was a day to remember. From all of the staff involved... a massive thank you! Their 1st party at the home since covid started and we could not have wished for a better day. Especially as mum's got Dementia/Alzheimers yet she was on great form - courtesy of all the help from
the staff involved!

I visited Overslade on Sunday for the event with the Bikers and local singer (proud grandad!). It was a really hot day but had such a friendly atmosphere. The quality of the outside of the home was really well kept and beautiful plants making the whole area look well cared for. I spoke with a lady whose
husband is a resident and she hadn't wanted to come that day, but as always when she made the effort she felt so boosted and the music bought back some very fond memories, that she shared with me. I didn't know that there were events there and could really see how much of a difference it made to both the residents but also their relatives. It was nice to see the staff so genuinely engaged and had a really inclusive feel - I've never been anywhere like residential care before but it was actually a really positive experience and I'll be recommending it to my friends. Please let me know if you do any more events as I'd like to bring my wife.

My wife and I moved to Overslade House on the 9th of May 2021. Unfortunately, my dear wife died three days later and I am now a resident of the home for the foreseeable future and I am very happy here.

Mum has been at Overslade for over a year. Although I couldn't see her until March 2021, I felt she was safe and well cared for. Mum's room is clean, comfortable and homely. She enjoys the food and eats well. This is the first place she's been, including 2 hospitals, where her weight and general wellbeing
have improved rather than deteriorated. There are staff members who she's become very fond of and who are loving towards her. I'm grateful to Overslade for their care and commitment during the pandemic. It was our good fortune that Mum was transferred there from hospital.

I came here for respite after a fall at home. The care I have received has been excellent. The staff could not do enough for you; the food was very good. I would recommend the home to anybody. The long term residents are friendly and all seem happy.

Overslade House is the third nursing care home my mother has been in over the last 6 years, so I have experience of nursing home care and I can honestly tell you that the past three years since my Mum has been in Overslade House have been the best and she has been far happier and well cared for. My
mother suffers from Lewy body dementia and many other medical issues and the care provided has really been excellent.
They have nursed her through pneumonia and many other ailments with tender care and attention. I would certainly recommend Overslade House care home to others. Although, since COVID I have only been able to visit my mother in the 'Pod' they have made it possible. Prior to that when we were allowed to visit they always made me feel welcome and involved me in her care, keeping me updated at all times.
The manager is really exceptional and is always available to talk when you need to discuss any issue. The staff are also incredible and they are always happy to support.

I have been in this home just over 2 years and I am extremely happy here. I find the staff very caring and good to all the residents. I am particularly impressed with their handling of the Covid crisis, as they have had built pods to enable us to receive our visits. This is a very well run home the
management, in particular, are on the ball.

My aunt was a resident at Overslade for 7 months from December 2019 to July 2020. When admitted she was made to feel very welcome and immediately felt at home in her lovely room within the quieter nursing unit. At all times during her stay, she was treated with great care and kindness whilst allowing
her to remain as independent as possible whilst her health (both physical and dementia) deteriorated. During this difficult time of the COVID-19 pandemic the staff and management continued to uphold the values and high standards of care.
Many thanks to the nursing and care staff who provided loving, caring and professional end of life care.

My mum recently took very ill, and we were allowed to see her. Along with the paramedics and nursing staff, we made the difficult decision for Mum to be end of life nursed at the home. I cannot thank the staff on duty that day enough - the kindness shown to the family, and most of all Mum, was incredible.
The particular kindness from a member of staff as I left (due to C19 visiting quota), was incredible. She went above and beyond to comfort me and offer support, and I'll always be grateful. I left Mum in capable nursing hands, and went home to wait for the inevitable bad news.
It didn't come - four weeks later Mum is still with us, and going from strength to strength. Turning her regularly through her deep unconsciousness, then gently encouraging her to drink, and then to eat, has allowed Mum to fight another day! Every effort is made for me to stay in touch with Mum - I speak to the home or the staff every day, and the updates are priceless. What a wonderful place, I am so grateful.

Violeta Baesu

Job Title: Senior General Manager

Joined: 2004

I have been working at Overslade House since 2004 and I have found our home to be extremely welcoming and a happy place to live and work in.


I first qualified as a nurse in 1996 along with my husband and practised for 8 years in a hospital in Romania. I moved to the UK along with my family in 2004 and started my employment with Barchester Healthcare at Overslade House as a Senior Care Assistant. I then started my adaptation at Northampton University to allow me to qualify and practice as a nurse in the UK, this I completed in 2007 and I was promoted to RGN at Overslade. I then progressed to Head of Unit in 2011 shortly followed by promotion to Deputy Manager.


I have now taken up the position of General Manager at Overslade House and warmly embrace the opportunities this position will give me. At Overslade House we pride ourselves on the excellent care and skills that our staff possesses. It is my aim to maintain the happy, friendly and caring nature our home offers to our residents.


Helen

Helen Levine

Job Title: Administrator

Joined: 2010

I joined the team at Overslade House in 2010 as an Admin Assistant and has since then progressed to the role of Administrator. Previously, I have worked for CEGELEC and Jaguar Company Vehicles. My role is to ensure that the day-to-day administration of the home is kept up to date. If you have any questions regarding the home and funding then I am always happy to help.


In 2016, I was named as a Divisional Winner for Home Administration Champion in the Barchester Care Awards. Which is something I am immensely proud of, I also managed to complete my Level 3 Diploma in Administration and Business Studies. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to live music, so much so that I manage a popular Rugby-based punk rock band.

Genoveva Tamasi

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2007

Genoveva has been a nurse for over 30 years and joined Overslade House as a Senior Carer in 2007 and was then duly promoted to Head of Unit. Genoveva is a key member of the team here at Overslade House, as Clinical Lead she provides support throughout the home. She thoroughly embraces the opportunities and challenges of her role. Genoveva’s door is always open should you need any help or advice and she looks forward to many years at Overslade House.

Julie Bateman

Job Title: Activities Coordinator

Joined: 2021

Hi, my name is Julie, and I'm the lead Activities Coordinator here at Overslade House. I've been an entertainer for over 25 years which has given me a great foundation for meeting people from various backgrounds, and has also helped nurture my social skills.
I love animals, and have two Dachshunds of my own who, like me, love meeting new people. I'm looking forward to bringing them in to meeting all our lovely residents here at Overslade.
I'm a bit of a social butterfly and enjoy visiting National Trust locations, attending the Theatre, singing and dining out. Over the years I've even been an 'extra' on TV!
Living life to the full is my motto, and I wish to instil this in all our residents, whatever your ability there is something new to learn or try. Life is for enriching and enjoyment. I look forward to getting to know you and your loved ones. Anneke Alston

Job Title: Head of Unit

Joined: 2004

I qualified in 1977 as a general and mental health nurse in South Africa. I then went on to work in an A & E department and a TB Clinic. After taking time away to raise a family I returned to nursing by training as a Community Health Nurse and worked as a Community Psychiatric Nurse for 5 years managing 5 clinics in the area. I moved to the UK in 2004 and started working immediately for Barchester Healthcare at Overslade House where I also qualified as an NVQ assessor. I love working with people and helping them. I like the atmosphere at Overslade House, it is such a happy place to work as we all work as a team and this reflects on our residents. I appreciate the fact that the Company supports its staff to deliver a high standard of care. Out of work, I like all kinds of handcrafts, travelling and visiting my grandchild in South Africa.


Mandy

Mandy Smith

Job Title: Head Housekeeper

Joined: 1996

I joined the team at Overslade House in 1996 and I am responsible for managing both the housekeeping and laundry teams. Under my supervision and expert eye for detail, Overslade House is kept clean, tidy and presentable at all times and a prompt laundry service is delivered. When I am not at work I spend a lot of time with my family and I also enjoy travelling.


Jacek

Jacek Kozik

Job Title: Head of Maintenance

Joined: 2007

I joined the team at Overslade House in 2007 as a Maintenance Assistant and was promoted to Head of Maintenance in 2011. I am responsible for ensuring that all maintenance is kept up to date and all equipment is tested and maintained to meet safety standards. I am aided by Paul, our gardener, who is responsible for keeping the grounds in a beautiful condition for residents to enjoy.


I spend my spare time playing 5-a-side football and I am also an avid supporter of Manchester United and Real Madrid.
